My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this home. It is on a quiet street in a perfect location for tourists. Wrigley Field, the lake, $14 Uber ride to the riverfront. The only reason that I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it is in a little disrepair. Some of the windows wouldn’t lock, broken handles on cabinets and back door. It smelled a little musty. But we were fine with that for the price we paid. It was worth it.

Great place to have a group of friends for a Cubs game!

Close to Wrigley and perfect for family stay.
Lots of neighborhood options for restaurants and bars.
Unit with garage for parking which was very convenient. Communication and contact was airtight for check-in, out and any needs.

The property was great! There was plenty of space for everyone. It was a very easy 10/15 min walk to Wrigley field. The garage was also really nice to have!

My family really enjoyed this home. Great neighborhood. Very large with many beds. Clean. No issues and very easy check in and check out.

Spacious and comfortable. Provided everything we wanted in a location that was easy to travel by foot or train. Helped make our Chicago experience a great one.

If you want a house close to Wrigley this is perfect, otherwise this was a huge disappointment. When we walked in there was a dirty wet mop left in the kitchen. There was a sack of chips and half a case of beer left from the previous guests. The floors and carpet looked like they hadn't been sweep. The toilet in the biggest bedroom wasn't attached to the floor and rocked when you sat on it and didn't flush well. There was such an oder in the house we had to go buy air freshener. The two car garage barely fit two cars and you could barely get in and out of cars. We checked out a day early, very disappointed.

We were excited to come to Chicago and stay at this house due to the affordability they offered. However; there were many issues that will keep us from returning to this property:
1) VERY DIRTY- sinks not clean, utensils not clean, dirt and dust in the bathtub, dirty bath mats. Upon entry to the home there was a large pile of dirt and dust at the bottom of the stairwell to welcome us into the home.
2) MISLEADING LISTING PHOTOS- the photos do not accurately represent what is present in the home. The beds do not come with comforters, only sheets. The only blankets in the home are fuzzy blankets which are shoved in a closet uneatly. Also, there are photos that appear to show more beds than what are actually in the home.
3) The home was not stocked with appropriate cleaning supplies/toiletries. We arrived to the home and 2 of the bathrooms had no toilet paper in them. There was not a stock of any toilet paper so we had to buy our own. The home also did not come with paper towel or extra trash bags.
4) The home has a rodent issue. One of our guests stayed in the basement and heard rodents running around and making noise throughout the night.
5) There are many more things I could share about this home that did not live up to livable standards. I would NOT recommend staying here unless you want to be continuously disappointed throughout your stay.

The property fulfilled our needs for a place to stay on the north side. We had 6 senior adults, one couple, 4 single, and the sleeping accommodations worked for us. As one of our group noted, "The place has good bones, but needs attention to some details." Examples of such things are broken kitchen faucet nozzle that needs replacing, balky light switch for the kitchen hanging lights, need for a Keurig k cup adapter for ground coffee, a nail on the stair railing that "bit" one of our group (we put a bandaid on the rail to pad it).
All in all the we enjoyed our stay; it just could have been a bit better.

The listing for this property is misleading. We had 10 people staying at this property and it was not adequate as there was NO couch in the living room (it was pictured with one), there was 5 plates in the kitchen, the beds are not as pictured, the entire place was dirty. I made contact as soon as these problems were discovered and got a "a past renter damaged the couch and we are in the process of replacing it". The first complaint about this was made back in October! It is now late March and the couch has not been replaced however there is one shown in the listing. The number of beds is misleading also. There is a king, queen, bunkbed, 2 twin. That does not add up to sleeping 10 people so 2 people had to sleep on the basement couches. The garage door opener location is poor. It requires 2 able bodied people. One to stay in the car and one to enter the front door, walk through the unit, go out the back door and down the back steps to the sidewalk that goes to the garage. There was NO bannister for the basement stairs. If you rent this place be sure to bring towels. We got one towel per person. There was one towel for each bathroom. There weren't any washcloths or dish rags to wash dishes with. And lastly, I met the nice neighbor who let me know he had a key to the unit. I was not comfortable knowing a total stranger had access to the unit and all of our belongings. All in all, we were disappointed with the furnishings, cleanliness & basic supplies.

We had a great stay at this property! The home was beautiful. It isn't "fancy" but everything was well taken care of and for the size, character and location the price can't be beat! One of the bedrooms is an interesting arrangement which I think is why it is listed as a 4 bedroom and a 3 bedroom but it worked well for our group. One of the reviews mentioned that the bed in the master was very squeaky and that is true. Every time you shift positions it does squeak. Maybe something on the frame could be tightened? The owners were very responsive and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend this rental! We loved the house and would absolutely stay here again. It is a great house for a big family or a group of friends!

We had mixed feelings about this property. We arrived around 6:30 on a Friday evening. Lights were on and doors were unlocked which surprised us. Parking only available in the garage with no access to the garage from the outside. Had to go thru the house, out the back patio to get to the garage, open it from there. Same when we left and arrived back home. Minor inconvenience. Beds were clean and comfortable but I think the cleaners forgot to clean the downstairs. Dishes were put away dirty, floor was really dirty. Pans put away in the cupboard dirty. Overall lack of maintenance on the property. Looks like they quickly renovated the baths and did not really take the time to finish their work. The shower handle fell off multiple times in the upstairs bath. We opened the window in the master bath and it almost fell out. Closet door fell off in one bedroom. Lots of marks on the walls on the first floor. Lack of furniture in living room. Only 2 chairs for a house that sleeps 12. 7 chairs at dining table. Basement was cold and not good for gathering. I had to wash the floor in the kitchen with clorox wipes I purchased as we stepped in animal feces in the garage unaware and tracked it in. No mop and was told to go buy one to clean it up. Only 5 plates and no dish cloth to wipe counters. Very much lacking in amenities. No baking dishes at all. Couple pots and pans. We made it work and it did not ruin our wknd. Better mgmt would make a better stay.

We didn't choose this location because of it’s beautiful appointments because there really aren’t any. We booked it because it was cheap alternative to a hotel, had a garage, and was reasonably easy to get to. That being said, you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, it was a mixed bag when it came to cleanliness. First of all, the garage had a ton of rat droppings in side and on the step. Wasn’t a pleasant thing to pull up to. Secondly, the back deck was still dusted in snow and there was no salt on the property so I shoveled it and bought salt (for which I was reimbursed). As my kids were preparing their space, one of them found a clump of hair in the sheets. Additionally, as a basic rule of thumb a renter should never have to ask if the tap water is safe to drink and be told to drink water from the fridge only to discover the water filter has expired. I communicated these and other items to the owners and they were very apologetic and reiterated they will do better. The owners are very quick on their responses which is super helpful and I am grateful for. I would also recommend they increase the amount of plates, bowls, cutting boards, etc. It is clear that others have used this house very hard which is why the owners have adopted rules that aren’t hard to follow if you respect other people’s property. Other positive things: beds were all very comfortable, the showers were great, and a quiet neighborhood.

This is a beautiful old home. It has clearly been used hard by previous renters which explains the strict house rules. We noted quite a lot of damage that was either not yet, or poorly repaired. The space looks high end but lacks the fit and finish details.
For us, the noise limits, and no party rules were not a problem other than the visitor limits. We are a family of 7 to start and were visiting family for holidays. It was quite inconvenient for us to not be permitted to have our local family members visit us in the rental. The price (winter, not baseball season) was excellent for the space. The location is excellent. Access to the garage for parking was a huge plus. Communication with the property manager was very good. The only other (very minor) issue was the master bed squeaked very loudly every time we rolled over or shifted position. It was otherwise quite comfy with super luxe sheets but it could use some tightening or wd-40 or similar. We would stay in this unit again if we could have visitors approved.

The good: Clean, tons of space! Location - pretty quiet neighborhood. Beds - unlike many VRBOs - they were pretty comfy! Garage - yes, you can carefully fit 2 cars in it.
The so-so: Our main complaint was the main living room are had 2 chairs, for a place that supposedly slept 12. Yes, there’s a ‘basement den’ area w couches and a TV, but that space is less-than inviting.
(Also, some minor fit and finish things here and there. Not sure I would have trusted the dishwasher. Would have been nice to have the garage code)

Great place
This property was great very big and spacious with three floors. They claimed the garage was for two cars but we could only fit one. Parking on the street was kind of a hassle but not the end of the world. Many great places to eat close by and conscience stores.

Unsatisfied
Being with my family was great as usual. The property itself was very unsatisfying. It was not properly cleaned. The property manager said it was professionally cleaned and I promise you that had to be a lie I have plenty of pictures to prove it. The place was very dusty and just dirty and smelled like cigarettes. Tables and floors were dirty the let out sofa was infested with ants and the kitchen was filthy the pots and pans were dirty as well. There was left over food and stains in the pots and one of them Should be thrown away. There isn’t much to offer really not a good variety of pots and pans there’s only 3 and the appliances were broken or hardly working and not at all clean. The manager sent the cleaning crew out to clean while we were there and still not satisfied. Very unsafe the way things are sticking out and the holes and amount of broken items in home was just unbearable. I think the property manager needs to go visit the home himself/herself. The house is a very nice size though. Other than not cleaning and a bunch of safety hazards the neighborhood and size of the place are a plus. I feel that if it was properly cleaned and the furniture wasn’t broken or worn down then it would be a great place to stay. We also got hassled by the last guest that stayed there because they got put out. They stayed in the alley and waited on us to leave and return it was a bit creepy.
