About this house rental
Artist's Perch - Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from every room! Have the best of both worlds with a location just between historical downtown Newburyport and the beautiful beaches of Plum Island. This stunning home has everything to enjoy, including an open floor plan with kitchen that offers quartz countertops, top-of-the-line appliances and a huge center island overlooking the living room with gas fireplace. The master bedroom with soaring cathedral ceilings is the perfect place for relaxing and enjoying the views from every angle. Along with a private bath with dual sinks, large glass-enclosed shower. Our home also features 2 additional bedrooms, with queen beds and detached full baths, gorgeous gray maple floors throughout, a bottom entrance level storage area with sitting benches, endless windows, multiple sliders to the front and back decks providing the best views in the area, all year long!
Artist's Perch is convenient to numerous amenities, we're a 1 minute walk to Bob's Lobster Shack or a 5 minute bike ride to Plum Island beaches, restaurants, ice cream shop, liquor store, general store and more. Artist's Perch is a five minute drive to downtown Newburyport and all the Newburyport attractions: the town dock and waterfront, the rail trail, museums, cultural sites, unique boutiques, and fabulous restaurants.
Artists Perch provides the perfect location to explore beyond Plum Island to Newburyport, Cape Ann (Gloucester and Rockport), Salem, and Boston. Our home is within 1 mile of the commuter rail station. The Newburyport Commuter line can take you to the heart of Boston in just 40 minutes or to Rockport, Gloucester, or Salem in 15 minutes.

Lovely Week in Newbury
We were so pleased with our stay at Artist’s Perch. The house was airy and light filled. The kitchen was well stocked. Everything was immaculately clean and well maintained. The beds were super comfortable.
Craig, the owner was very responsive both before our stay and during.
All in all it was a perfect week to recharge and reconnect as a family.
We loved overlooking the marsh with gorgeous views in all directions.

We were looking for a comfortable COVID-safe place to relax for my daughter's school break week, and this property delivered. The landscape is on display through tons of windows and it was fun to watch the changes at high and low tide, with a coating of ice, with birds, etc. The ONLY down side is nearness to the road, but we expected this. Very close to both plum island beaches and Newburyport plus other nearby towns. Craig and Robin responded within minutes to every message, checkin was easy despite a midnight arrival. Would definitely recommend!

Relaxing week
We were looking for a comfortable COVID-safe place to relax for my daughter's school break week, and this property delivered. Winter Getaway
Everything was great. My one piece of advice is that if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. The traffic is loud at night as well as the wind and the vents on the roof constantly slam open and shut because of it. It is too bad because the beds are very comfortable, but the flaps in the vent kept me awake.
The house is perfectly located between the beach and Newburyport center so there was plenty to explore even in the winter. The views are beautiful and the gas fireplace helps take the chill out after chilly beach explorations.
Owners were great to work with. I would definitely go back as long as I brought my earplugs for night time :)

Cute, Beachy House
The house is very nicely decorated. The pictures depict the house very well. The three bedrooms are all good sizes and having three full bathrooms was great for our family of four. We loved the open floor plan and playing board games (supplied by the homeowner) by the fireplace.
It does get pretty bright in the mornings, so if you are someone that likes to sleep in, bring a sleeping mask for your eyes. The views off the back porch are lovely and my oldest daughter spotted a crane. Overall, great stay. Also, I was able to get food deliveries to the house (Instacart and door dash) which is always great when traveling with children.

The house was perfect for our getaway...the bedrooms and the bathrooms were incredible! The weather was wet and windy, but inside it was warm and cozy! We especially loved the gas fireplace!

Everything you need
Craig and Robin have a beautiful property with everything you need. Modern amenities, amazing views, the best shower in the world, great WiFi, and really nice comfort touches like plenty of paper towels and soaps etc. Never felt like we were in need of something or something was missing. Thank you very much.

The house was better in-person than in the pictures! There were 5 of us: 2 adults, two 3.5 year olds, and an infant. We rented over the long Thanksgiving holiday as a local getaway during COVID. It was a perfect vacation home for our family with close driving access to the beach and town. Saw cranes and hawks from the deck, and watched the planes land right in front of the house! The only drawback was the busy road, but because it was off-season it was totally manageable.
We had a slight issue with check-in; the door code was not communicated to us in time for 4pm check-in. But I was able to call VRBO and obtain the owners cell phone number.
Craig the owner is extremely hospitable; the best I have experienced. Extremely responsive and willing to go out of his way to make our stay exceptional.

Great location, wonderful views, spacious
We enjoyed staying at this house for two nights. We enjoyed the wonderful marsh views from most rooms. It is located right on the road to Plum Island and close to Newburyport and a walk to Bob Lobster! The property manager was quickly available when needed.

Lovely views from every side
Sparkling clean, new house, comfortably furnished. There are lovely views of the surrounding salt marsh from every window. Sunset on the back deck was beautiful and totally different every night. The road is a bit busy but the location (one mile from Plum Island, and two from Newburyport) is very convenient.

The home was very comfortable and in beautiful repair. Loved exploring the towns of the North Shore. It was a great get away!

Beautiful Views, Inside and Out
Location is great - about 5 min from the beach as well as downtown Newburyport. It's also a great place to hang out and relax either in the home or on the back deck to enjoy the views/sunset. The owners were also responsive.
This would be a 5-star review but unfortunately we were told when we arrived that there was an issue with the hot water. We had to go downstairs (3 stories from bedroom bathrooms) to restart the boiler every time we wanted to shower, and even after doing so, the shower could only sustain heat for about 2 min at a time. This was incredibly frustrating. Nothing worse after a long day at the beach. Additionally, some of the furniture on the back deck was broken when we arrived and one of our guests fell down trying to sit into one of the seats.
Overall, a good stay and would return but would be remiss to not highlight these issues, particularly the lack hot water.

Another great stay...
This was our second time staying at the Artist’s Perch and we hope to stay again soon. We rarely enjoy a rental home enough to return, but this house is worth it! The hosts are available and make an effort to make us feel welcome.

Very fun place to stay
The home is new, clean, well stocked, beautiful kitchen and bathrooms, etc. And that was not as amazing as the views from every window, the quick walk to Bob’s lobster, quick bike ride to the beach. We loved everything about the house. We actually booked another stay already. The homeowners were gracious and very responsive. We definitely recommend this home for a stay on Plum Island.

Well Appointed and Unparalleled Views
This house is wonderful. Thoughtfully decorated with a floor plan that brings the outside in. Amenities are modern, mattresses are comfortable, and the master suite just can’t be beat.
Waking up to views of the endless marshes is a treat, with unobstructed vistas both north and south, including the Merrimack River, where you can watch the boats come and go. In August the greenness of the marsh is like eye candy and tough to put into words.
The back deck offers spectacular sunsets and if the tide is right, you can spot fish and crabs directly below.
If you’re into photography there’s no limit on interesting views to capture. The variety of bird life in of itself was amazing.
Location is perfect for beaching (1 mile), paddling/bird watching (5 minute drive) and eating (2 mile drive to Newburyport center).
The one caveat is the proximity to the road, it’s quite busy during the day, but at night it’s peaceful and perfect. It’s a relatively small con when compared to the views and the lack of neighbors, especially during the short term rental season.
Craig and Robin are very much engaged with the management of this property, communicating in real time throughout our stay, and they made us feel not only welcomed but valued as tenants.
We’re looking forward to returning!

Perfect Beach Stay
This home was a great getaway for Plum Island. It was a 2 minute drive to the beach! The home came with some beach towels and chairs which we were short on and very pleased they had. Air conditioning was very effective and the back deck and grill made for an epic dinner spot.
At one point we had to get in touch with the owners and they were prompt and helpful in their response!
Would definitely use this home again!

Great Vacation
Spent a beautiful June week at Craig and Robin’s fabulous home. Fantastic location between the quaint town of Newburyport and Plum Island. The house is well furnished, clean and loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The vista off the back deck was awesome and sunsets were spectacular. The bottle of wine and chocolates that greeted us were a nice touch. Overall, a great week.!
