Our location is incredibly well-suited to the quintessential Mystic experience. The river is a few steps from our house and quite kayak friendly (yes, we have boats). The famed Mystic Seaport area is a 5 minute walk. They also have boats, as you probably know. The downtown area is a very short walk from the houseThen there's the aquarium, the diner, and a handful of lesser known things to see, do, eat, and drink. We share detailed recommendations and favorite picks with guests upon booking.

We are within walking distance to Downtown Mystic and The Mystic Seaport Museum. We have bikes and kayaks, and we are about 1 mile from the Amtrak train station.

Guests have access to the entire main house. There is an attached cottage which may have guests during your stay. The main house and cottage each have their own entrance and are separate. The back yard and side yard (on driveway side) are shared outside spaces. We do have two separate BBQ grills and outside dining tables (one for main house and the other for cottage guests). We had a great stay and was helpful with early check in for naps after mystic aquarium. Had air mattress and darkening windows in upstairs room. Also found high chair, gates for the room / stairs, lots of books and even some paw patrol toys. Walking distance to shops and playground across bridge and great view when it goes up and down. Had short stay but definitely plan to visit again.

The Captains House is such a perfect location - beautiful water views and walking distance to everything! The house is very clean and very well maintained. The kayaks and bikes are a great amenity as well, although unfortunately it was raining during our stay so we didn’t use them. We would love to stay again!

The Captain George Wolfe House in Mystic, CT, is the kind of vacation rental that will make you homesick for a place you’ve never been. My wife Linda and I lived across the river for 17 years. Our recent stay gave us one more chance to explore the old grooves of our lives with friends and family. The George Wolfe house is the perfect place for that. Only a block from Main Street shops, restaurants and the historic Mystic bridge. Its own history does not extend to the plumbing. The home has been lovingly restored. All the appliances are modern. Central air. Comfortable rooms. Take it from me. I’ve been in more hotel rooms than the Gideon Bible. This place is extraordinary.

This site is the perfect focal point to explore Mystic. The house is a five-minute walk from the drawbridge. The main street has numerous options for dining and great ice cream. The house has everything that you need for a comfortable stay ... a well-appointed kitchen, television in the living room and each bedroom (so we can each watch what we want), soaps for the bathroom. And Gerard is a master host, even checking in during the stay to make sure everything is running smoothly!

My family and I were at Mystic for a funeral. They worked with us on an earlier check in since we had not slept the night before to catch a flight. It was so convenient to downtown. We slept wonderfully. Thank you

We loved everything about the Captain's House in Mystic. The house was charming, with lots of period details and furnishings; at the same time, it provided every conceivable modern-day convenience. The house has a view of the Mystic Drawbridge and is just steps from all of the action in the town. Parking was provided onsite so we were able to walk to everything. The host was incredibly responsive to our questions and needs. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Big thanks to Gerard!!!

If you are planning a family trip that includes walking to the center to visit the quaint shops, a sunrise kayak experience in the Mystic river, a glass of wine with family and friends overlooking the fabulous sunset over the Mystic river, then this place is for you. Gerard could not have been a more gracious host. He was very pleasant and very quick to respond to all of our needs. We had a group of 7 adults so planned to cook many of our meals. The kitchen had all of the essentials and was very well stocked and the Weber grill was fabulous. Must sees while in Mystic: the Mystic Aquarium ( particularly the Beluga whales), Jonathan Edwards Winery in No. Stonington, Stonington Farmers Market The Velvet Mill, all fabulous take ins. As the Matriarch of the family, I heard quite a few times during the trip "this is awesome" and this was completely due to the location and this fabulous house. We will definitely consider staying here again. Thank you for making the experience so incredibly memorable.
