This is what it means to get away from it all. Unplug, unwind and destress all while enjoying modern comforts and the pristine landscapes of Wadmalaw Island.

Featuring 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms within its three heart-pine floors, this grand country home is nestled among the oaks with tidal creek views. Set on deep water, you will find a spacious dock with the Sea Swallow moored alongside room to tie on the other 20’ side.

Within its walls, there is plenty of room for the whole family or a whole gaggle of your best pals with beds - 1 king, 4 queens, 3 twins and 1 pull-out sofa - to comfortably sleep up to 13 guests. An open-concept home designed to be shared, the bedrooms are well separated with each having its own bath.

Originally built in 1970, our family has proudly owned this Rockville property since 1986. A true gathering home, we’ve enjoyed countless family reunions, celebrations and getaways hallmarked by water skiing, crabbing, fishing, swimming, kayaking and gazebo jumps (rights of passage…) all off her deep water dock. It is our joy to share this pristine, peaceful escape with you and yours.

Enjoy this idyllic river retreat that includes three kayaks available for adventuring or look to Bohicket Marina around the corner for sunset cruises, nature tours, rentals and more.

House is located on Adam’s Creek within the town of Rockville, SC. Rockville is located on Wadmalaw Island near Seabrook and Kiawah Islands. It is a rural island with no commercial development. Shrimp docks and a tiny grocery sell delicious sandwiches, flowers, fresh vegetables and tomato pies. The town of Rockville is a charming historic village with enchanting walks close to our house.

OCCUPANCY: The maximum number of persons, including children, at all times is limited to listing. Your reservation is subject to immediate cancellation and/or additional charge at the option of the Owner if you have brought more guests than max listed. 4. CARE OF PROPERTY: Tenant agrees to return premises to Owner upon the expiration of this lease in as clean and good condition as reasonable use will permit, and to repair, replace or pay for any breakage or damage done by Tenant and/or his guests. 5. NO ADDITIONS: No fixtures or appliances shall be installed without the prior written consent of Owner. 6. REPAIRS/INSPECTION: Owner or Owner’s agents shall have access to the leased premises to make necessary repairs. Owner will use its best efforts to provide reasonable notice of any such access. 7. REPAIR REFUNDS: Appliances and amenities are not guaranteed, and refunds will not be given due to breakdown. Repairs will be made by the Owner as soon as practical. 8. SIGHT UNSEEN RENTALS: Tenant should make every effort to pre-inspect the property before executing Lease. Otherwise, Tenant acknowledges and agrees to accept the property in its condition upon commencement of the Lease sight unseen. Pictures on VRBO taken within 8 months or no changes have been made and depicted as picture. 9. LINEN: Owner shall furnish blankets, linens and towels which Tenant shall not remove from the leased premises. 10. RENTABILITY: If the leased premises is destroyed by fire or acts of God so as to be unfit for occupancy either prior to or during the term of the lease, the Owner shall return any prorated share of unused time that may have been paid in advance. The lease shall not terminate as a result of cosmetic or inoperable non-essential appliances. 11. SUBLETTING: The Tenant shall not be permitted to sublet or assign this lease agreement without the written consent of the Owner. 12. DEFAULT: Any default by the Tenant under the terms and conditions of this lease, including but not limited to the failure to pay rent, shall result in the termination of this lease at the option of the Owner and the premises must be vacated immediately with no refund to Tenant. If damage has been done to the leased premises in an amount in excess of any rent or security deposit paid, Tenant shall also be liable for any such damage. 13. CANCELLATION: All cancellations will first fall in policy as set by site. If not within those dates, all requests by the Tenant to cancel this lease must be made in writing. Upon notice of a desire to cancel, Owner shall use its best efforts to re-rent the leased premises. All pre-paid rents or deposits shall be held by Owner until the leased premises are re-rented at the full rental price. If the property is re-rented for the full rental amount, Tenant shall receive a refund of all pre-paid rents or deposits. If the property rents for less then the full rental amount, Tenant shall receive a refund of all pre-paid rents and deposits, less the difference between Tenant’s rental amount of the new rental amount. Prices are not lowered until we are a couple weeks out, at which time, we try to lower the price to allow for better chance to rent and to allow some sort of refund. 14. ACCEPTANCE: This lease must be agreed to which means, by booking, you agree to the terms and conditions of this lease. 15. SECURITY DEPOSIT: The security deposit should be considered with total rent due when considering deposit due. Deposit will be refunded by Owner and released to the Tenant after the property has been inspected and in accordance with applicable law UNLESS THE OWNER PROVIDES TENANT WITH WRITTEN NOTICE OF DAMAGE OR OTHER REASONS TO WITHHOLD A RETURN OF THE DEPOSIT WITHIN FOURTEEN (14) DAYS OF THE LEASE TERMINATION DATE. The security deposit shall not be deemed a limit on Tenant’s liability to Owner for any damage to the premises or otherwise. 16. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS: Do not leave food of any kind outside. For safety reasons, do not sit or lean on the 2nd or 3rd floor piazza railings. Supervise children at all times while on the piazzas. Tenant and his/her guests assume all liability when occupying the piazzas. Please leave doors and windows closed whenever possible due to habitual insects and flying bugs. Any items for use with property should be listed on the site and may need a liability waiver, so waiver must be signed before use of any item on property like kayaks or water items if listed with property. 17. WAIVER OF CLAIMS & INDEMNIFICATION: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tenant, on behalf of Tenant and Tenant’s guests, licensees, invitees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns, and as a part of the consideration for Owner agreeing to lease the premises to Tenant, hereby specifically releases, waives and agrees that neither Tenant nor Tenant’s guests, licensees, invitees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns shall make any claim against Owner or its agents, representatives, successors and assigns for damage, injury to person or property, loss, or any liability whatsoever which in any way relates to or arises our of the subject matter of this lease or the use or occupancy of the premises, including, without limitation, theft, damage or destruction of any item owned or brought to the premises by Tenant or Tenant’s guests, licensees, invitees, agents, representative, successors or assigns, which such injury, damage, loss or liability results from any act, neglect, occurrence, or condition in or about the property, whether same is caused by the actions of Owner or any other person or the condition of the premises or any part thereof. My husband and two grandchildren, ages 8 and 5 had SO much fun in this home! The house is older, yet charming, well furnished, very clean, organized and well equipped with everything needed. We fished, crabbed, threw cast nets, swam and took our boat out on the pristine creek. The nearby islands were a short boat ride away. It was so peaceful, the view was absolutely gorgeous. Having raised our family enjoying all the low country waters have to offer, we were able to share it with our grandchildren. It far exceeded our expectations, we would love to rent this home again. The host was easily reached and entry was no problem.

We enjoyed the setting for our son’s wedding. The cottage is large and has such a nice atmosphere. Lots of space to spread out and the waterfront is gorgeous. Sunsets were outstanding. The kitchen was well equipped, including an extra refrigerator and a separate large freezer. The age of the building shows and can either add to its charm or distract depending on your expectations. It could be cleaner based on the fees that are charged but it was sufficient for us.

We had a wonderful time. It’s a huge house suitable for a big family. The kitchen is well supplied. The toys and games are appreciated. Kayaks are available too. Beautiful sunset. Bottom line: highly recommended.

The perfect spot for a laid back getaway where friends and family can relax under the beautiful oaks and admire the unobstructed river view. A slice of heaven in the Lowcountry.

Great waterfront house!
Great waterfront house!
We had a great week with 13 people from 4 families gathering together from various parts of the country. We loved hanging out at the gazebo on the dock - the sea breeze made it comfortable at almost all hours of the day! Swimming at high tide was great (be careful of the current!). We paddleboarded and kayaked around the river almost every day. Fishing was great - we caught a 2 foot shark one day! Charleston is a quick 40 minute drive. The house was very comfortable. It is showing its age a bit, but overall a great place. Beds were comfortable - and there was plenty of space for 13 of us to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked. The yard and porch were great! We had a great stay and would come back in a heartbeat!

If the owners get the cleaning and repair needs taken care of, this will be a fantastic rental. It's a beautiful setting with awesome sunsets, great trees, a large, lovely porch, and great living spaces. Manager is very attentive.
