This secluded gem offers a perfect get away . The property is Located in old town Manteo just a short walk to all the shops, restaurants, movie theater, historic sites, and much more. This Studio upstairs apartment with private entrance offers a king size bed, large sitting area and full bath. It’s a beautiful location and space sure to please you while relaxing after a long day at the beach just 10 minutes away. The upstairs studio is located on a spacious historic property dating from 1901, with a large beautiful garden for enjoying your morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail. This studio has a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and coffee maker. Our area is home to all outdoor and water based activities, surfing, sup, boating, fishing, kite boarding, you name it, we have it.

We had an awesome time in Manteo. The accommodations were exactly what we wanted for a long weekend. The room was perfect and clean. The gardens at the home were blooming and pretty. We will return. Oh and Kill Devil Rum is directly across the street. They are great!!!

It’s a great studio apartment. All you need for an OBX retreat. Shops and restaurants within walking distance. Owners are great and accommodating and very responsive to messages.

The Studio room location is a 4-5 block walk to Queen st., where art studios, shops and restaurants are located. Convenient on- street parking is handy, with just a short drive to the barrier island. The weather wasn't conducive for us to enjoy the private back yard, maybe next time.

We stayed in the upstairs suite, it was roomy and comfortable. I rated good instead of excellent because in pics and advertising it appears to show a kitchenette, but that's not the case. There's only a small table and awkwardly organized dishes that have to be washed in the bathroom sink and the coffee maker is also in the bathroom. Property is sweet but would not stay there again.

The Uptowner was spotless clean and well appointed. Note that the owner not only adds a cleaning fee, which is understood, but also a host fee to the rental. Despite the added fee, the Uptowner is a very nice place and a fair value.

The studio was beautiful. Just a pictured. Gardens were lovely, although we didn’t take advantage of them. Walking distance to historic downtown Manteo with lots of live events going on. We enjoyed our short visit.

The Uptowner Studio checked every box for our getaway requirements. If you don't want a busy hotel or a large 2-3 bedroom condo, this Manteo location is ideal. Knowing we'd be out most of the day to enjoy the Outer Banks, a full kitchen and extra rooms weren't needed. What a pleasure to come back to a safe and cozy retreat. We enjoyed the lovely, garden scenery, peaceful and private setting, and convenience to walk to The Front Porch Cafe for breakfast. Cleanliness is vital to where we stay and Uptowner Studio was super clean and tidy with all necessary, comfortable extras. We are already planning future visits. Thank you to the Uptowner Hosts for providing a lovely option in the Outer Banks area.

The property was as advertised and more. Very clean and well maintained efficiency. Great location. Beautiful and well maintained plantings in the court yard area of the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We travel to the Outer Banks often and have fallen in love with the area and especially Manteo. Probably one of our best and most relaxing stays. Communication with the host was excellent. We plan on keeping this property on our hope-to-revisit-soon list!

We loved staying here. The location was perfect. We went to a concert at Roanoke Island Festival Park and it was an easy convenient walk there. Walkable to downtown where there are shops and restaurants. There is a great rum distillery close by. The place was very clean and nicely decorated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and allowed for a good nights sleep. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had a great time. The room was cozy and the gardens were beautiful. Being close to the waterfront meant we could walk to everything and not use our car at all. We also enjoyed biking.

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful rental property for our anniversary. The place is very clean and cozy. The yard is beautifully landscaped with flower gardens and a nice gazebo. Located only a few blocks from the downtown restaurants, waterfront, coffee shops, and gift shops, we walked anywhere we went in downtown Manteo. We will definitely be hoping to stay here again soon! I recommend The Lost Colony Tavern for dinner and the Pelican sandwich shop for lunch, both are delicious!

Adorable, clean and convenient.
The process of renting was streamlined, and very thorough. I was emailed confirmation information and instructions to access the unit. I was very impressed with the tasteful, quality furnishings and the cleanliness. Parking was extremely convenient in a lovely neighborhood where I felt very safe and secure. Great linens and lighting. The lawn and flower gardens were gorgeous with an inviting gazebo. I will definitely recommend to others and hope to return for another getaway someday. Weekend Getaway
This was our first experience using VRBO and our first visit to Manteo. We were pleasantly surprised by both. The Uptowner was perfect. Comfortable, cottage by the sea vibe in a quiet hamlet just a short walk from restaurants, shopping and the marina. Perfect location for OBX adventures as well. Last minute excursion
My wife and my had a last-minute change of plans and were pleasantly surprised by Patrick, Rufus, Roxie and family’s property. Room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for quick breakfasts in the morning before heading out for the day - and for relaxing at night. Beautiful garden in the common area, and the property is centrally located in Manteo for easy access (15-60 mins) from nearly every OBX beach. Would recommend as a great couple’s stay..

The area was beautiful, the room was alsp beautiful & amazing and had great air conditioning. The beaches were very close, 10 mins or less away and just what we were looking for. There were many shops and activities to go to snd do in the area. Great coffee shops and breakfast places like Front Porch Cafe and Charis Coffee. The Host, Patrick, was very helpful and kind as well. We wished that we went to their family restaurant right there but maybe next time! The dunes were a fun sight and place to visit, they are right there in Jockey's Ridge State Park. There are hangliders and a class for hangliding right in the park too. Lots of fun. 10/10.

My wife and I visited this VRBO property for a quick end-of-summer vacation and enjoyed it immensely! Spacious room with good amenities, location convenient to many good places and things to see and do, and when we had several questions about check in, Patrick was very responsive, friendly and helpful. Also enjoyed using the $20/day gift cards at The Dunes restaurant -- great food and friendly staff. While there, we absolutely loved "The Lost Colony" play/drama on the property of Ft Raleigh National Park, and enjoyed visiting Wright Brothers National Monument, the Corolla beach lighthouse area, Bodie Lighthouse, and were especially mesmerized by the huge dune sands of Jockey State Park, where we watched a beautiful sunset one night. We recommend this property highly!

What a perfect place to stay off the busy beach, but close by and in a town full of charm and history. This was a great apartment to stay in for the weekend- super clean and comfortable. A beautiful walk into town for dinner each night and really enjoyed the Walking Tour of Manteo.
