Als Hostel ein MUST. Leider abgewohnte Zimmer.

Das große Plus waren für mich die Mitarbeiter, die Lage und auch das Frühstück. Jeanne an der Rezeption und (leider Namen vergessen) der Herr beim Frühstück waren überaus nett und hilfsbereit. Jeanne hat mir auch geholfen, meine Wäsche zu waschen, obwohl die Gäste-Waschmaschine kaputt war. Das war schon eine tolle Bereitschaft, sich für den Gast einzusetzen. Die Lage beim Pont Valentre ist genial. Noch dazu, wo das Haus eine großartige Terrasse mit Blick auf die Brücke hat. Das Frühstück war für ein Hostel wirklich gut. Abgesehen vom französischen Basic gab es Käse, Müsli mit Trockenfrüchten, Schokolade :-) ... Buffet übrigens. Also in Summe ist das hier schon absolut empfehlenswert.

Das Haus ist gut konzipiert und macht auf jung und dynamisch und international. Nur ... mein Zimmer war völlig abgewohnt. Die Badezimmertür echt desolat. Im Kleiderschrank hingen 3 kaputte, abgebrochene Kleiderbügel. Der extra im Angebot angeführte Wäschetrockner auf dem Zimmer war nicht existent bzw. wenn damit die Heizung im Bad gemeint war, dann ging die nicht. Das Bad selbst ist ein italienisches, also keine Duschkabine. Somit wird alles nass. Und gereinigt war das Zimmer auch eher großzügig. Jedenfalls war zwischen den Fotos auf booking und der Wirklichkeit ein massiver Gap. Zwischen lässig und schlampig ist doch ein großer Unterschied. Und was auch ärgerlich war: die viel gepriesene Rooftop-Bar war trotz angeführter Öffnungszeiten eben ... nicht offen.

La cuisine collective un peu négligée,..je pense que les utilisateurs ne nettoient pas correctement les fours et la vaisselle..Dommage

Top pour la vue du rooftop sur le pont Valentré, literie et chambre très correcte pour le prix.

L'ambiance auberge de jeunesse était au rendez vous : très belle terrasse sur le toit avec vue sur le pont Valentré, formule planche apéritive et spritz, très appréciables. Les chambres sont relativement propres mais spartiates (normal pour le prix, c'est une auberge de jeunesse). Les jeunes font la fête, c'est normal. C'est un endroit pour profiter de la vue sur le roof top, mais à éviter si l'on recherche le grand calme, fort vis à vis dans le chambre qui se font face sur la cour, à choisir pour une nuit en ville quand on a l'esprit jeune, à un très bon rapport qualité prix.

Un peu bruyant et vis à vis dans les chambres, lits simples non joignables, pas très adapté pour les couples

Highly recommend for 1-2 nights

Location beside the Pont Valentré, close to start of the GR65 route, roof top terrace, friendly English speaking staff (Berenice 5*), good bed linens, very quiet restful night. Very good plentiful breakfast (coffee, teas, juices, yoghurt, bread, cereals, dried fruits, apples, butter, jams, cheese, cake and sticks of chocolate)

It’s a youth hostel with exposed concrete walls and rubberized flooring do felt a little cold but otherwise great place

Patfait for a 1 or 2 night stay in Cahors!

We are a couple in our 60s and we had a private ensuite bedroom with great shower (fresh bedding is provided). A generous buffet breakfast is included in the price (€53) and it was served in the amazing roof-top bar & terrace which overlooks the ancient bridge. Would definitely recommend this Auberge de Jeunesse for a short break in Cahors - whatever age you are!

Nothing really...it's no-frills, you have to put your own duvet on, then place it in laundry next day, but for the price, it's worth it!

Interesting stay over in Cahors

- location - outstanding roof top - gaming area for free (billiard, table soccer) - breakfast included - simple and functional

- parking at extra costs (paid parking available nearby) - shower area doesn’t look clean. Tiles and grouting where blackish (probably because of aggressive cleaning) - too early check out - they require you to remove and drop off duvets and lines yourselves. That should be mentioned in the advert I’m general: would go there again

The roof terrace had the best view in Cahors and then with a drink from the bar, it was super!! It was of course all very basic but that is to be expected and the staff were very nice. Breakfast was good with the usual bread, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, tea and coffee. We were very pleased with the underground parking that was available for our car! The city center was just a 5 mins walk away.

The matrass seemed to have a cover on it that creaked when you turned in bed, made you feel like you were in a hospital bed but it was comfortable.

It was just a bit grubby all over, like it needs a deep clean - the bathroom floor & walls, the flat white corridor walls, well used duvets to put fresh clean covers on.

it’s a youth hostel and I’m not a youth. However the staff were great and the system is well organized. the rooms are well designed and the bar on the roof is convenient. the breakfast was excellent!
