Iris Residence is well suited both as a couple's coastal retreat or a family’s self-catered getaway! Besides the fact that the Residence is fully equipped, completely and elegantly reconstructed and refurbished with the finest touches of the best private homes, it also encaptures the simplicity of water, light and air in all its grandeur. The Residence can accommodate up to 7 guests in its three spacious bedrooms, six guests in real beds & a folding bed could be provided upon request to accommodate one more guest.
Interior
The interior layout of Iris Beach Front Residence works beautifully. All set on the ground floor, the 145 m2 Villa is very convenient for families with small children or older people. Entering, the Villa features a modern, open-plan area where the living room area and the fully equipped kitchen are located. Double doors lead directly to the private pool and terrace. Some steps further you will find the elegantly decorated bedrooms, bedecked in fine linens and cloud-soft pillows to ensure a blissful night's sleep. There are also two modern bathrooms, one of them featuring a bath tub and the other one with a shower cabin, providing the perfect space to pamper yourself after a long day at the beach and sea!
Exterior
Multiple broad and tall double doors functioning as portals inviting you to move seamlessly in and out. Lead through the wooden front gate and you are quite literally right on the beach, dig your toes in the sand and enjoy a wonderful seaside break. The 100 m2 outside area is a perfect haven in which to kick back and relax, whether it’s just the two of you enjoying a romantic escape or you’re sharing the space with family and friends. Allow your self to enjoy the stunning private swimming pool (6x3 meters and 1.2 meters deep), which is wonderfully lit at night, and relax at the grassy garden or sunny slate terrace to the sounds of the sea. Have a homemade meal with traditional local products and prepare it at the BBQ facilities available at the terrace. At the outside dinning area, under the shade of a white linen umbrella, enjoy an unforgettable al fresco supper experience. The front deck, which faces directly to the sea, has the best sunset views, perfect to enjoy the real Mediterranean feel. This is the perfect area from which to fully appreciate your spectacular setting!

Very Nice Place
A very comfortable and clean unit with everything you need. The pool and outdoor area is great and was a key amenity for the kids. The air conditioning worked well. There are a four really good restaurants a few minute walk down the beach. There is a really good coffee shop and bakery right around the corner and a small market with essentials within easy walking distance. The beach is not great for swimming with smaller children as it gets deep quickly and the waves were large when we were there. It is also pretty rocky. It takes 20 minutes to walk into town along the road, but I believe there is a bus. There is convenient parking right next to the unit. All in all, a great place to stay.

Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Der Empfang war super freundlich. Da wir an einem Samstag Abend angereist sind, haben wir uns besonders gefreut, dass das Nötigste zum Essen und Trinken im Kühlschrank vorhanden war. Der Blick aufs Meer vom Wohnzimmer aus war wirklich fantastisch. Was ein wenig gestört hat, war die stark befahrene Hauptstraße direkt über der Wohnung. Der Strand war steinig, und der Ausblick nach rechts und links war nicht so schön.

Superb villa and incredible service
I cannot fault this villa: It is beautiful and the host was the best we have encountered. The location is perfect for visiting the local area of Rethymno and the beaches on the south of the island.
My reason for only 4 stars is personal: If you like the bustle of being near a large town, this is perfect, but I prefer a more village feel location. It did mean however that there was an abundance of restaurants nearby.
Secondly, the sea was a little rough for swimming and there were some dangerous currents (the lifeguard does an excellent job however)- I think this was quite unusual for the time of year and there were days where it was very clam and the beaches to the south are beautiful and only a 40 min drive away.
I don't think you will find a better villa anywhere and it is the best we've stayed in. If you want an amazing sea view you wont be disappointed!

We had a fantastic stay at this property. Marianna quickly had the rental cleaned up so that we could check in a bit early. Having fruit on a platter and refreshments available to us, she quickly went over many basics. The house was just as advertised and Marianna had it stocked with everything you would expect like kitchen utensils, pans, corkscrew, kitchen towels, bath towels and separate pool towels, etc. Additionally, what’s not so common she included laundry and dish soap, toiletry items, toilet paper, paper towels, a first aid kit, a welcome gift of a bottle of wine and some items available for purchase, like cold beer and wine. We definitely needed the cold beer as it was very hot and it we appreciated it was there and already cold and we didn’t have to carry it from the store. Markets, restaurants and bakery/coffee close by. I would agree with another reviewer that the outskirts of town was about a 20 minute walk and getting to the old town beach or center was more like 30+ minutes. Also, the beach directly in front was very rocky and hard to walk in unless you had water shoes but the pool was fantastic. When booking I would recommend the unit that does not border the public beach access and parking area. This was the unit we had and there was a steady stream of people with curious eyes. We had a few that we thought were going to hop over and take a dip until they saw us in the house. The beach goers also helped themselves to the nice lounges set out under umbrellas in the beach sand that Marianna provides for guests (there were notices hanging on the umbrellas alerting beach goers that it was private use). But all-in-all, if you enjoy walking you can take in the sights on the way to town and it’s beautiful overlooking the sea. Valia from the management company was very attentive and helpful; everything with the home went flawlessly. However, the driving service Valia works with was 20 minutes late at the airport (we did not check luggage so perhaps they were allowing time for that?), driver dropped us off at the wrong address - pointing the 6 of us to a door to go into. Ended up being a communal pool and we knew right away it wasn’t correct. We were, thankfully, about 4 dwellings and a BP station down the road. Then the same driver picked us up over 10 mins late (I made sure he had correct address this time - they are supposed to be familiar with all the properties) for our flight departure. All for €360 plus tip. Not Marianna’s fault.

Schöne Villa, super sauber, sehr zentral, tolle Tavernen zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Meer leider an einigen Tagen etwas trüb. Aber tolle eigene Sonnenliegen am Stranddirekt vor dem Haus!! Die Liegen sind reserviert für die Villa und immer frei, herrlich!!!

Iris Residence in Rethymno
My husband and I and our three adult children have just returned from a week's stay in this beautiful property. It really was a wonderful holiday. The property is very well located, right on a small quiet beach about 20/25 minutes walk from the old town of Rethymno - a lovely place for a meal in the evening or a stroll around the many shops (a taxi costs just 5 Euros if you don't want to walk). The villa itself is very well appointed with everything you could possibly need and the owner, Marianna, is absolutely charming - very helpful and welcoming. We really can't think of any negative comment to make. It is a property we would definitely like to return to again.

Beautiful property in an ideal location
We arrived really late at night Lina was waiting for us, drinks, fruit and basics ready in the fridge we cant thank her enough. The property is beautifully furnished and contains everything you could need to enjoy your holiday, even down to a fully stocked medicine box they have thought of everything.

Fantastic villa and location.
We returned from a fabulous week in the Iris villa in Rethymno. The villa is exactly as the photos look. The children loved the pool and the inflatables that were there. The location was really good as well with access to the beach. There is a bakery and mini market at the top of the road which was very convenient for us! Also the local restaurants were lovely with amazing views. The walk into the town was a bit much for young children and grandparents combined so we used the excellent taxi service which was reliable and always 5 Euros, well worth it to keep everyone happy! I would recommend this villa to a family and would return ourselves in the future.

I cannot say enough good things about our stay in this beautiful luxury villa! Marianna and Lina were amazing hosts! The view, the house and the food were all spectacular. If we are lucky enough to visit Crete again in the future; this is without a doubt the place we will be staying. Little spot of luxury in a developing town
When we first arrived at the location of the villa, I was a little worried as it at the back of a main road and in a part of Rethymnon that is being done up. However once you enter the villa from the back on the garden (which is modern and well maintained with plenty of loungers and seating) you realise that you are staying in your own little piece of modern luxury. Spacious, open and with all the facilities you will need it made our holiday special. The owner is so welcoming and helpful with advice, numbers and recommendations (and not to forget) the welcome pack she provided made you feel at home.
The view across the sea that stretches across the North coastline of the island put smiles on our faces every day and night.
The walk into rethymnon is a bit longer than what is stated I would say 20 mins to reach the outskirts and another 10-15 to reach the centre. But if you dont mind the walk it can be lovely if you take the coastline.
Make sure you visit the Restaurant Prima Plora which is a 5-10 mins walk from the villa (turn right as you come out of the villa) the views, food and service are so good.
The old fort is amazing to see and is huge! Lots of good bars and restaurants in rethymnon itself spoilt for selection.
The beach outside the villa is a bit of a let down if you were expecting sand. However the beach bar (out of the villa turn left 2 mins away) just up from the villa is worth the visit.
All the people we came across were incredibly friendly.
We also visited king minos palace which is good if you don't mind a drive and are into greek mythology.
Oh and on a final note the cab firm that Valia works with Cretan taxi, are amazing lovely drivers, water and internet in the cars and very helpful.
All in all a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend this villa and part of crete to everyone.

Perfect villa and location
We had an amazing holiday at villa Iris, so much so that we didn't want to go home, so we didn't and extended our stay! The villa itself has everything you need, it's well appointed and you can step directly onto the beach. The location is perfect, with everything you need on your doorstep including some fantastic restaurants such a Prima plora, as well the old town in easy reach. The owner is more than helpful and genuinely cares about you having a great holiday. Highly recommend

“Best I ever had!”
In September we spent 2 weeks at Iris Residence and this truly made our stay a memorable one! This residence is in a great quiet location, right on the water and a 10 minute walk to the center of town where all the restaurants and shops are located. The residence was very spacious, nicely decorated and clean. It is equipped with everything you can imagine. Nice remark is the private pool with underwater night-lights and the BBQ area. The attention to detail at this residence was excellent. Marianna and Yiannis are the best hosts ever, very attentive and caring! Would definitely stay here again!

thank you, our Greece friend! It was wonderful vacations! We felt us as very special guests. This villa situated in the best place! There are best restoration near, and a center not far. I never enjoy sea closer than there. Fantastic to wackup and fall a sleep whit sound of waves. The best words to Maryanne, they was like family to us. They do everything excellent. Thanks a lot to Valia, because insist on this villa. There was a special family holiday to us! Hope return back! Recommend to people who want to have an exclusive vacation!
