About this house rental

Welcome to our newly constructed, spacious timber frame lake home on Seneca Lake. We oriented the house so that there are spectacular views from every room. It sleeps up to 16 people comfortably including kids with a 22 x 40 foot great room, including an oversized dining table, gourmet kitchen, spacious living room, an attached 14 x 45 foot deck, and recreation room with a huge sofa, gas fire place and television. We also have a large outdoor table and lounge chairs/sofas for comfortable dining al fresco.
This property is unique because it can host multiple families with children. There are two master bedrooms with their own bathrooms and two bedrooms on the lower level that share a bath, but have easy access to the lake through sliding glass doors. There is also a bunk room over the garage with its own bathroom. The bunks are oversized (double mattresses) and can easily sleep two children per bed.
Our lake house is also perfect for a small wedding or family reunion. The 1,000 foot slate patio that hovers 15 feet above the shore will remind you of a scaled-down roman amphitheater, with picture perfect views of the lake and the spectacular sunset.
For more casual outdoor activities, the dock is big enough to seat all the sunbathers, swimmers and boating aficionados in your group. It's also an excellent spot to watch the sun set or have a picnic dinner.
We are fortunate enough to have 150 feet of private lake frontage, with a large dock system. There is a boat lift to park a personal boat on the dock. There is a marina in Watkins Glen which is a ten minute boat ride to the south that offers transit docking and the ability to rent a boat for your vacation.
Our location is ideal for many reasons. For our guests that want to try regional wines, beers and ciders, the Lake House is conveniently located on the Finger Lakes Wine Trail, walking distance to two of the most renowned wineries in the region. It's also close to some of the best hiking in western New York. If you like waterfalls and gorges, don't leave without a visit to Watkins Glen State Park, Buttermilk Falls State Park, Treman State Park and Taughannock State Park. These parks are exceptionally beautiful in the fall, when the leaves are turning color. We are also minutes by car or boat from the small town of Watkins Glenn, which was awarded 3rd Best Small Towns for Adventure by USA Today.
Cyclist will find no shortage of challenging terrain. And skiers/snowboarders can easily access Greek Peak in the winter months for exceptional down hill and cross country adventures.
The property is also a great place for people who appreciate cars, with its close proximity to the Watkins Glen International Race Track. Foodies will not be disappointed, either. There are many farm to table restaurants nearby, as well as breweries and distilleries that serve light fare. We also collaborate with an executive chef who will make herself available if you need a hand in the kitchen or wish to cater a special event. She also offers private cooking lessons in the Lake House kitchen, followed up with a meal that you helped prepare. Let us know if you are interested in Sam's services and we'll connect you. You won't be disappointed. Find more information here: www.simplyredevents.com and read the reviews of guests that have used Sam's services.
Don't forget your binoculars. Birders will love sitting on the deck in the morning and watching the bald eagles land on the tree-tops nearby or the blue herons soar across the lake.
And last but not least, the architectural details of this industrial modern house built on the side of a cliff, along with views of the lake from almost every window, provides a tranquil spot to rest and rejuvenate.

We got to spend 1 week in this fabulous house with our 2 adult children, their spouses and their pups. The house could not have been more perfect and had everything we needed, including beach towels,. 2 SUP's, 2 Kayaks, life jackets of assorted sizes and lounge chairs on the dock. We rented a boat for the week so we could water ski and tube. The only advice I would give a future renter is to take your garbage to the dumpster at the top of the road every day or every other day. We waited until the end of the week and it was not pleasant for the guys by then. LOL! Glenn was responsive and pleasant. We even bought some pottery that his wife makes and is throughout the house. Great week!!

This is the second time we’ve stayed in this home with a large group of people from 10 months old through adults in their 40s and every age between. We had a fantastic time, spending hours every day on the dock and in the lake, visiting local wineries, hiking, cooking, and playing games. The kids’ bedroom is perfect, and we never felt cramped in the space. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Glenn's home on the lake went beyond anything we could have asked or hoped for -- beautifully appointed, super spacious, ALL you could possibly need or want! Our first vacation with all the kids and grands, and one we will never forget. Because the weather was perfect, we pretty much lived on the dock and in the water. It was awesome to have the boat lift for our 13-foot boat, plus all the extras included on the property -- life jackets, water shoes, floaties, kayaks, paddle boards. There was almost no boat traffic, so we pretty much had the lake to ourselves for skiing, wake-boarding, knee-boarding, tubing, snorkeling, and of course jumping off the top dock! Loved sitting around the campfire at night. Also had a couple of great hiking days -- especially check out Robert Treman State Park. Glenn was great to communicate with and always quick to respond and super helpful. Thanks for sharing your property with us, Glenn! P.S. Check out his wife's pottery for sale!

My family of 14 had a blast! Our top priority in looking for a rental property was one that allowed the entire family to gather, prepare and share meals, toast marshmallows, and enjoy the sunshine together. Glenn and Lynn's home came through 100%. They thought of everything to make our stay memorable and easy. From the toiletries and beach towels to water shoes and paddle boards, we never wanted for anything. It's also located remarkably close to wineries, parks, shopping, and more. And boy oh boy, those sunsets - spectacular, indeed! To quote my sister: "the best part was that there was no bad part. Everything was GREAT!"

A perfect house for a group of friends who enjoy cooking, hiking and evening campfires on the lake. Perfectly appointed home with multiple spaces to gather, dine and enjoy the silence of the woods and the immense starlit skies. This was our second visit and we are already eager to book our 3rd. Thanks, Glenn
