About this house rental
Soul Surfing II-Home completed in August 2020. Property includes a private beach area located on the bay with a fantastic view of the Gulf of Mexico from the front porch area. Access to gulf side beach area can be accessed by a short walk across the non busy street. Located in the town of Dauphin Island also known as the Sunset Capital of Alabama. Gorgeous split floor plan with beautiful views of the water from the living/dining/and kitchen areas. Sleeps 13 comfortably. 5 large bedrooms and 3 full baths. Fully equipped with many extras including all kitchen appliances, linens, towels, Keurig, and outdoor grill. Bedrooms 2 and 3 include two king sized beds and have private entrance and exits through French doors that open to the spacious back porch. The bedrooms and back porch area have some of the best views of the spectacular sunsets on Dauphin Island. Bedroom 1 includes another king sized bed with a gulf view. Bedroom 4 contains two sets of twin sized bunk beds which are perfect for the kids. Bedroom 5 includes a full and twin sized bunk bed with old school style Pac Man and Marvel Avengers Super Hero arcade games. All bedrooms and living area have Smart TV's. WiFi is included. Home has high chair and playpen for smaller children. Please be advised of the following information prior to placing a Reservation: Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 23. Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay. Maximum Occupancy numbers include children and cannot be exceeded at any time. All of our homes are Non-Smoking and Pet Friendly with a paid pet fee.

We loved the community, the home was beautiful, amenities were pretty great! The only thing I’d say is that the dishes were a bit short if you had a bigger group but we grabbed some paper products and all was wonderful! We loved having the water on both sides! It was sooooo nice having the sunrise and sunset over the water, too! We will absolutely come back! No complaints from 4 years to 68 years! Thank you for such incredible memories! Highly recommend!

This place was immaculate!!! All of our needs were met. This house was equipped with everything we needed. I was hesitant on the price but I can say it's well worth it.

The home itself was beautiful and close to the public beach. The downfalls were that the beds were extremely uncomfortable (to the point where people slept on the couch instead of bed) and the home wasn’t cleaned well. The floors were not swept or mopped, underneath the beds were disgusting, and there was a lot of hair (dog and women’s)/dirt in the corners of each room.

Great family vacation with our five adult children, spouses, grandchildren, and fur babies! We had twelve people and five dogs. Layout of the house was perfect for our stay. Never felt crowded. Everyone had their own bed and private space. The back porch is in the shade all day and was perfect for hanging out. The dogs loved it! The private beach area on the back was perfect for our family and dogs. The location was perfect. A true relaxing low key family vacation. We made memories we will cherish for a lifetime! Highly recommend this wonderful home for a great vacation. Will definitely be back!!

This beach house looks like an HGTV property. It's gorgeous and immaculate. Even though pets are allowed, we didn't see any signs that pets had been there, and our dog didn't seem to smell any other animals. It's a large space without feeling too big - great layout, design, and colors. Right outside the back porch is the beach on the bay side. We found tons of shells and hermit crabs. You can also walk across the street on the front side of the house to go to the gulf beach. The waves are much bigger on that side. A 10-minute walk down the road is the west end public beach that stretches for miles with gorgeous open sunsets. Some things to pack: Hand soap, dish cloth, kitchen sponge, kitchen towels (one thin towel provided), dish soap (small amount provided), can opener (the one there is broken), measuring cups and spoons (missing some key ones for recipes), coffee filters, beach towels, laundry detergent (single load provided), hair conditioner, bath soap or body wash. The hosts answered our questions well. We loved our stay and highly recommend this lovely beach house!

This group of ten adults and 2 kids (5 & 1.5 years) had such a wonderful time. This home's location is perfect to view both the sound and the gulf. The home was spacious and comfortable. It was even better than the pictures! The kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfy. We hope to come back again! HIGHLY recommend staying here!!!

We have been coming to DI for many years and staying at another property on the island. Needless to say we have a new place we will be staying at from now on. The views are breath taking every morning and night. My wife loved how close she was to the water on either side of the house. Our dogs loved the big back deck to lay on and relax. We can’t wait to come back again!!

The house overall was very nice. It does have 24 steps to get upstairs to the living area and was rather difficult to get all of our belongings upstairs . There were very few restaurants and the ones that were open were not open every day. When we to on vacation, I do not plan on cooking every day. The worst things about the house was the linens. It looked like they had years and years of use. Very thin. All the other homes we have rented have had linens as nice or better than the ones we have in our home. The internet is so sketchy we had a hard time with Netflix and other programs. We left two days early and have never done that on a beach vacation. Very disappointed overall.

Nice clean modern property. Easy access to bay and ocean which was perfect for the little ones - big waves just play on the bay beach till it calmed a bit. Big deck both sides lets you choose sunny, shady, windy, etc. Owner has plenty of plastic adarondack chairs and water toys to take to the water. Deep property gives privacy. Could use a bedding mattress update, otherwise perfect.

It was my first ever trip to the beach. I wasn’t sure what to expect, so ….. We stayed 3 nights. This property was beautiful. It was exactly as described. The owners were very responsive to messages. I’m not sure if there would have been a better place for our group. The beds were great, and decor was beautiful. The walkout to the bay side was my son’s favorite part. He spent every extra minute fishing - he caught several small croakers and some ocean perch. We actually saw some dolphins off the porch early one morning and saw them two late afternoons in a row off the public beach. It did rain occasionally while we were there, but don’t let the forecast discourage you, it clears up quickly and you can get back to your outside activities. The TV’s are giant - in every room. The boys went straight to the arcade games as soon as we arrived.
It was amazing. Only thing that might have improved the property would be a hot tub or pool, but that may have taken it outside my price range. Overall a super vacation. Would recommend and would rent again.

This home was perfect for our group of 3 couples with their 6 children ranging from 6 years old to 20 years old. It was immaculate when we arrived. We had plenty of space for everyone and the kitchen was designed for easily cooking for a large group. The location of the house was wonderful-directly out the back deck to the calm bay and just a few minutes out the front to the gulf for those of us who wanted more waves.
The owners answered all of my questions and had friendly and fast communication. Only small cons to be aware of-mattresses are not comfortable and the deck furniture was flimsy, which made people worry about breaking it whenever they sat down. Besides those two things, we all agreed the house was amazing and we would all highly recommend it. Beautiful home and very relaxing vacation.

This house is fantastic. When we arrived, I found the living space to be larger than I expected from the photos. The layout and furnishings were perfect for our group of 6 adults and 3 kids, with plenty of room to spare. The beach was great! Most days it was quiet and private with calm waters perfect for the kids. We had fun watching the pelicans and seagulls. Just one bit of advice for future travelers: bring water shoes as we had to walk over a lot of shells to get into the water and that made it much easier! Perfect house for a family beach trip!

I'd Stay Again
Pros: Beautiful house. Great location. Great communication with property manager.
Cons: Not the cleanest (dirty diaper under a bed, moldy/stinky clothes washer, sand/dog hair on the floor, very dirty HVAC filter), gas grill propane tank was empty, internet connection was hit or miss.
Overall, it was a beautiful house for our big family group with easy access to the bay or Gulf. We would stay here again.

We had a wonderful time. This was our first time coming to Dauphin Island! Enjoyed the laidback atmosphere! The house was awesome! Only suggestion is more comfy mattresses on the King beds. We hope to come back soon!

Great family trip
Our group consisted of 6 adults and 3 small children. The home was perfect size. Plenty of room for the children to play. Bedrooms enough for everyone to sleep comfortably, and everything we needed in the kitchen. The back porch was one of everyone's favorite spots to gather. Having the Bay to the back of the home and the ocean to the front was ideal for fishing, playing in the water, searching for shells, and watching the dolphins, sea gulls, pelicans, cranes, and all the other birds that make the area their home. One of the most relaxing trips I have had. We would love to visit this home again.

Happy times!
I treated my daughters and a few friends to a weekend escape to celebrate my daughter's birthday. They attend the University of South Alabama so the trip down was short. We had the best time!!! It was wonderful! The view ! The breeze with the doors open! We enjoyed the bay side beach from sun up to sun down. It was immaculately clean, lovely furnishings, it was a perfect stay! Would highly recommend staying here

By far, one of the best beach trips we have ever had! The house is absolutely beautiful. It is very spacious and has everything you need. We loved the option of the beach side or the bay side. The Pac-Man game was a hit with the kids and the adults! We made so many great memories and will definitely return again.

Wonderful House
We had a great stay at this wonderful house. It was very clean. Loved all the windows and natural light. We enjoyed having the beach on the bay side with little kids. The gulf side was very rough while we were there but we still enjoyed walks to the West End Beach. The back porch was probably my favorite place. We ate and played games on the picnic table on the porch. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed to cook our meals for the week. The owners answered any questions we had and were great to work with. Overall, a great time!

Great Stay! Too much animal hair
The house was beautiful. The location was perfect. The rental company was very responsive. The only issue was the amount of animal hair that was in the house. One person in our party is allergic to dogs and spent the week sneezing and stuffy.

The house was large enough to accommodate our group family (6 adults and 6 children ages 1-11yo) vacation very comfortably. The house was very clean, tidy and well decorated! The rooms and bathrooms are all a great size! There were plenty of bathroom towels. All the beds, pillows, and linens were comfy and smelt nice. The kids rooms were fun and inviting! The kitchen was well stocked and functional - the only thing I couldn't find was an ice cream scoop, which only matters if you're the person dipping up ice cream for everyone! However, this speaks to how well stocked the kitchen is that I'm even mentioning an ice cream scoop! There is no garage disposal, not a negative, but if you're use to having one maybe this will save you from searching for the disposal switch ;) The property and location is BEAUTIFUL! We absolutely loved the Bay! If you have children and are on the fence about staying on the Bay side or ocean side, pick the Bay! We are so glad we did! The children were able to play endlessly without being knocked down by crashing waves! It was the most relaxing beach time us parents have every had because we actually got to sit in our beach chairs! The water is pleasantly shallow. Bring water shoes for everyone thought, there are lots of shells and rocks. Seriously don't forget the water shoes! There were plenty of seating outside and inside. The only thing that could have made our stay more relaxing with so many young children is if there had been a gate at the top of the deck stairs. All of us agreed we would absolutely stay in this house again! We have vacationed together every summer for 8 years, I can say hands down this was my favorite vacation! Side note: Rent kayaks, we rented several for half the week and had an amazing time exploring! This was our first visit to Dauphin Island and it is truly a special place! I grew up on the NC coast and I feel blessed to have had new experiences here. So many cool birds to see, there are hermit crabs and regular crabs, we saw stingrays and dolphins several times in the bay, we kayaked and we fished, the kids scooped minnows out of the water with their nets in the evening! Relaxing vacation
Beautiful house. House was on the bay side. We had our own private beach. Water was much more calm than on ocean side which was perfect since we had 2 small children with us. Enjoyed our stay.

Best Beach House ever!
This is a beautiful, dog-friendly beach house located on the bay side of Dauphin Island. If you have little ones ( or dogs!) not quite ready for the waves, this property is perfect. However, if you like waves, you just have to walk across the street. The house itself is amazing! We had 3 adults, 4 kids ranging from 2-9 and a dog and had more than enough space. We had a couple questions while we were there and they were answered promptly. The house was clean and comfortable; it's obvious the owners take great care of this place. The house is not far from the end of the west part of the island so it's quiet; not a lot of through traffic even though there is a public beach at the end. We had a great time and highly recommend this property!

The house was beautiful and we loved the big, open concept design. We thoroughly enjoyed the back deck and the private beach. Well supplied with kitchen utensils, pots/pans, and cleaning supplies.
