A family-friendly home, with room for everyone to stretch out and enjoy some peace and quiet, can be found within walking distance of downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and all of the shopping, dining and other attractions for which it’s known. It’s also only 10 minutes by car to the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach®, to Monarch butterfly sightings in Pacific Grove, or to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. Other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village.
The 2,100-square-foot brick-and-wood residence features succulents and live oak trees in the front yard. An eclectic blend of vintage furniture, comfortable seating and beach cottage décor can be found within.
Living Space:
This 3-bedroom, 2-bath two-story home features a large living room with a gas fireplace, easy-care vinyl plank floors throughout, and a relaxed ambiance.
The living room has comfortable leather couches and upholstered furniture centered around a gas fireplace, a perfect place to hang out and watch the 52-inch HDTV, play games or have conversations. A double French door from the living room leads to the fully enclosed back yard with outdoor patio seating and a gourmet gas grill available for afternoon barbecues.
Kitchen and Dining:
The nearby kitchen features white tile counter-tops, a gas range with five burners, and a breakfast nook that seats four, a perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. A second entryway can be found at the end of the kitchen, and an updated washer and dryer are conveniently located behind bi-fold doors.
The formal dining room has a traditional-style wooden table with room for seven. Well-equipped for extended stays!
Bedrooms and Bathrooms:
Downstairs / on the main level, Bedroom #1 is the first of two suites in the home. It features a California King bed with a floral coverlet, with a matching curtain on the window above, with nightstands and reading lamps on either side of the bed. The bathroom on this level can be accessed either from the bedroom or the hallway, with a tub/shower combo and adjustable-height shower head.
Upstairs, Bedroom #2 is a suite that offers a king bed with vintage headboard, large closet, spacious dresser for storing items, and a stand-alone dressing mirror. A large alcove can accommodate a twin roll-away bed for an extra sleeping option which can be set if requested at booking.
The nearby bathroom can be accessed either from the bedroom or the hallway, with a shower and adjustable-height shower head.
Also upstairs, Bedroom #3 has three single beds, all featuring antique bedsteads, and a student desk and chair.
The carport provides a covered parking space for low-profile vehicles and there is a driveway for off-street parking.
Well-behaved dogs under 40 lbs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum.
The back yard is fenced.
This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner. Extended stays are often possible.

During my time at Sea Escape, I found the condition of the home to be below our expectations. I believe the responsibility for the home's condition lies with the owner rather than Sanctuary Property MGMT. The house needs updates, such as new pillows, comforters, washer, dryer, iron, dishwasher, refrigerator, glassware, pots and pans, coffee maker (Keurig), dishware, and a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Additionally, replacing the toilets with self-closing lids and updating some furnishings would greatly improve the home. While they addressed the mold in the lower bathroom, the mold in the primary bathroom shower was not taken care of. Adding more mulch in the backyard for the dogs would not only enhance the appearance but also make it more enjoyable for pets. Despite these issues, the location is fantastic, just a short walk to downtown, and the sheets and towels provided were matching and in great condition.

The pictures don't do this property justice! The property is nicely maintained, the kitchen is spacious, and there is a small and nice enclosed yard. We had a snafu with the key and the sanctuary team was quick to take care of it. We stayed for a month (with a toddler and dog) and would return. The only downside is how hilly it is - it's the ideal property if you're traveling without young children or older adults, or prefer to travel by car.

This home was just perfect for our family. Easy walk down to the town and easy access to everything including the beach. The house was clean and well stocked. The bathrooms are a little dated but everything works well. The people at Sanctuary Rental were very easy to work with and very responsive when we called. We would love to stay again.
