Beautiful cabin in the woods. Absolutely loved this place!!
5.0
Downstairs ping pong and darts were fun to have! Also the old school VHS player and Super Nintendo provided hours of nostalgic entertainment on a cloudy day! Nice propane BBQ grill on the deck. Lots of kitchenware made cooking a breeze. Perfect spot for a group to unwind!

The place was pretty nice to stay at if you don’t spend much time inside just to sleep in, but there is no AC and it got really hot at night especially on the top floor and the outdoor furniture downstairs was not cleaned and had spiderweb all other the chairs. The carpet and sofa had stains all over them and towels had random hair in them, but it was not too bad for the price. This place is only worth it just for the lake view and profit beach access. But I think on hot days this cabin would suck to stay in because of how hot it gets inside even with all of the windows open

This home was clean, 3 stories and perfect for a large group. Kids upstairs, parents in the middle and basement bedrooms. 2 showers with an amazing full flow shower head. Ample hot water after being in the lake all day. Our kids loved the ping pong table downstairs and never complained about crappy wifi anywhere in the house.
We will rent the house next year if it’s available.

We loved our stay. A great cabin with a well equipped kitchen and game room. Too bad I found out about the SNES when checking out…
Access to the lake is super easy, too. There’s a nice playground and the views from the lakeside are awesome. There weren’t many other people around, which made it a very nice and tranquil experience. Would recommend!

Close to lake, fun game room, and such a cozy vibe!

This house was comfortable, clean and my kids loved the game room.

Over all a very beautiful place. The cleanliness wasn’t very clean. Beds very hard. And needed maybe more variety of pans. But over all I fell in love with the place and will be back if there’s availability….. Just pray it doesn’t rain the whole time. Lol

This cabin worked great for us. It is in a beautiful, secluded location. The lake was right there and what sounded like a creek in the back. It seems like an old family cabin, we were very comfortable and would stay there again.

Spacious, big windows, sunlight, confortable, well equipped, great deck, firepit, great location

The house was clean on the surface but has a musty smell and dirty carpets. The two frying pans are terroible and should be replaced with working non-stick ones. The coffee maker's carafe had to be propped up to drain coffee liquid into it; it should be replaced with a coffee maker that works properly. The DVD and VCR players aren't wired to the TV and the TV's controller had missing batteries. The lower patio and furniture were dirty and there was no broom for us to clean with. The surrounding neighborhood is nice, and the location to the private playground and swimming beach is excellent. We would recommend the property in the future.

House was spacious. Game room was fun for all ages. About a 10 minute walk to a beautiful alpine lake. Chilly to swim in, even in July but we knew that going into it. Highly recommend for a family or even 2 small families.

Loved this place. Took our dog, loved the big fire pit and the lake park was great! Highly recommend!!

Location of the home was fantastic! Essentially on the lake! And close enough to town. Home was ok. Cookware was old, burnt and sticky. Home was not cleaned as well. We saw dog hair all over the floor. Games such as ping pong, darts and air hockey was in subpar condition. If you’re looking at a home only and thinking of splitting this was many people, it would be a great value.

Buyer beware. Charged 654.00 for 2 nights at the Alpine Home in Hoodsport. The rental portion was of the charge was 212.00 and 54.00 in taxes. The rest was a service charge of 227.00 and other charges I was in aware of. I feel like they are not up front with disclosing all of the changes before you buy and next time we will go with other services that are more reasonable and upfront with all charges.

The house is exactly like in the pictures and full of great games and toys. Unfortunately, the beds were uncomfortable (we tried both the main and basement bedrooms), the basement smelled of dampness, and the showers had no handled head and very low water pressure. The wash some issues with the information we received from Vacasa; mainly that they gave us the wrong lockbox code and we ended up located outside of the house for several hours. We had to drive back to the town to get reception (about thirty minutes) in order to call their support. They resolved the issue successfully when we were able to reach them, but having no cell reception around the property made communication unnecessarily difficult. Overall, this is a beautiful house well-equipped for a family or a group of friends. As a couple, we didn't enjoy it as much.
4.0
The only real issue we had during the trip was the fact that the front door lock did not work as advertised (I think it was a combination of the lock's keypad not being intuitive as well as the lock itself being sticky), which meant we had to call into Vacasa in order to get into the property. Once we finally got in and settled we had a great time, and really enjoyed the house..
4.0
The house itself was lovely. Comfortable and a good location. The only issues that drop the rating to 4 stars were that the fridge doesn't work great and the keypad lock wasn't working right.
Vacasa, on the other hand, is an AWFUL company. At one point on our trip we got locked out of the house (because the keypad wasn't working) in near freezing temps with insufficient clothes and without keys to even get into our car. After calling Vacasa multiple times and being told they would get someone out to help us, we finally got tired of waiting and found a way to break back into the house. Almost an hour later we FINALLY heard from the local manager who had only just then been notfied.
It's WILDLY unacceptable to leave guests in a dangerous situation without responding or following up to see if they're safe. We will NEVER do business with Vacasa again after this experience.

We loved everything about our stay. The location was peaceful and quiet, perfect for the opportunity to relax and recharge. The cabin was clean, well stocked, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The game room is set up for hours of fun, it truly would be great for a family or group.

Great find, fabulous house! Comfy beds, great setup, great location. So serene and quiet! Be sure to look up at the stars at night! LOVE the VHS and Nintendo, too!

Great location near private lake front park. Accomodated our family of 7 very nicely with dogs as well.
Biggest negative was noisy “crunching” sound of bed on main floor

Brilliant. Does get hot inside when the temperature is high. Amazing lake nearby. Great for hikes, swimming and watersports.

Overall an enjoyable home to stay in and the location is relaxing with a lot to offer,. The nearby private beach (5-10 m walk) on Lake Cushman is beautiful and a wonderful resource for adults and children (and dogs). There is nice hiking from the nearby Big Creek Campground and beautiful trails at the Olympic National Park's Staircase entrance about 20 minutes away. In the house itself, the downstairs rec room is spacious; the two patios and surrounding woods are lovely. Two negatives: (1) the mattress in the main floor bedroom is very noisy (squeaky); and there is no place to store clothes in the downstairs bedroom (closet and trunk are full of owner's possessions and there is no drawer space).

It was a great stay, thanks for hosting my family.!
3 highlights
1. you can visit the beautiful lake cushman park. (very close)
2. if you have kids, they will love the downstairs.
3. clean, well stocked, firepit, and more.

What an amazing property. So many options for indoor entertainment for all ages as well as outdoor hiking, swimming, paddleboarding, fishing, etc., etc. options. A bonus:
Dog friendly!!

This house is within walking distance of the park and gorgeous views on Lake Cushman. We had a great stay with family friendly games and we loved the ping pong table. The nearby Staircase Rapids trail was well worth the 20 minute drive.
5.0
Great location to get on a lake or hike in the Olympic Rain Forest!
This location is not straightforward to find - GPS sends you nearby, but not to the correct location. The front door is very finicky to enter - the latch hardware needs to be replaced. The rangetop mostly worked, but microhood lights overhead are not operational. Other than that, it was a great place to be with comfortable furniture, beds, washer/dryer, Wi-Fi internet, nearby groceries and restaurants. It was great to have the air-hockey table too. Excellent proximity to lake and hiking trails!

Alpine at Lake Cushman
Very nice cabin, in a quiet community right on the lake. Walking distance to private community park with breathtaking lake views. The cabin was well stocked for all our needs, very easy process start to finish, fast responses from management, overall very impressed and would recommend to anyone needing a little R&R away from city hustle and bustle.

Nothing on listing is true
Listing talked about a pass to Lake Cushman private park, which we never received even after multiple reminders. Description also talks about a full kitchen, coffee machine was broke…benefit of doubt given....machines break all the time and it can happen..but replacement comes after 2 days after many reminders, while we had to travel 10 miles one -way to reach the nearest coffee shop!
We enter the house and there’s no description of remotes…after trying various combinations we realize that the correct remote is out AAA batteries and off we go to the nearest grocery store ..15 miles away…
Beautiful place ..but expectations were not set properly..wasted a lot of time in reminders and communicating with property manager portal…not my idea of a vacation!!!!

Wonderful lakehouse…housekeeping needs addressing
We come to Lake Cushman every year and rent a lakehouse for a week. Alpine house was a great home with quick access to the day use area! The neighborhood and ambiance of the community is second to none. We have always felt safe and welcome. The game room downstairs, the deck and outdoor areas were a hit! After reading past reviews we brought our own box fans, and were happy we did!
Areas of concern are: the dishwasher is in severe need of repair (rotator and door) or replacement.
Upon entering the home the outdoor trash was not emptied. It made for an interesting 4/5 day stay with smooshing others people’s trash (and ours)down all week.
There were unfolded half dry towels left in the dryer, and the guest bedroom hamper had dirty towels on there as well.
Good news is that the washer and dryer worked great so we were able to take of the laundry/towel issue quickly, but that’s not some thing you plan on doing when you arrive in vacation.
We ended up buying a grill brush for the grill and leaving it for the next family as well.
The house itself is wonderful, but it’s obvious that the housekeeping cuts corners.

Many benefits but needs some improvements
This is a nice house in a wonderful location. I especially liked the two decks and fire pit. The nearby beach is ideal for swimming for young children and the Olympic National Park Staircase entrance with beautiful hikes is not far away. We had a good time and I would happily give 5 stars except for some amenities that badly need improvement. The mattress in main floor bedroom has very loud creaky springs easily heard on the floor below; the dishwasher is cheap with flimsy and awkward racks that come hurtling out when you open the door; the main pots and pans are pitted; the bottom floor bedroom closet is completely full with owner's Xmas stuff and no rack to hang clothes, plus there are no dressers in that bedroom either so there is no place to store clothes in that room. Also the soft foam mattress in one of the loft beds may not be to everyone's taste. We would love to see these features upgraded!

Cute and Fun Lake Cushman Base Camp!
This house was perfect for 3 couples plus 2 kids. We appreciated the air hockey, ping pong, outdoor dining area, fire pit, BBQ, washer/dryer and ceiling fans. Given the hotter-than-usual NW summer, a couple extra freestanding fans would have been great. The house is showing its age a bit, but everything was clean and functional. Overall, this place was an ideal basecamp for exploring the area and relaxing in the evenings.
2.0
I will start with the good. Home is nicely decorated, well stocked and fun with lots of games. The outdoor fire area would be a great place to sit in the evening but we happened to be there during the hottest days in history! 108 and 111 degrees! House state there is no air con so I brought extra fans that were definitely needed. Upstairs was unbearable so we spent most of our time in s
downstairs which was nice and cool. However, the smell of mildew/mold was VERY strong. 3 out of 4 beds are old and mattresses are not comfortable and need replaced. The outdoor grill was filthy and there was no grill brush to clean it. I had brought foil so we lined it with that and cooked on it. Description of house states there are floats but our first day we could not find them. 2nd day we found them on the side of the house very dirty so we cleaned them but only one would hold air. You should definitely bring your own water toys for the lake. There were plenty of other fun games though. We have rented several VRBO homes over the years and I always read reviews to determine if I will stay so this is the only reason I am pointing out the things that need attention. This place would definitely be 5 stars with a few changes. Overall we still had a great time here. Kids of all ages will enjoy the Ping Pong and Air Hockey table and darts, but moldy smell needs to be addressed.

Beautiful and comfortable home. We appreciated all the games to play while it was raining. The private park access was super close for us to head there when the rain eased up. Was able to relax quickly. Thank you for the hospitality!
