Homely and welcoming

The location right on the front was fantastic. Spacious apartment, lovely and clean and homely. Great to have a parking space but it is a little tight. There is a nearby car park called North Road Clinic car park which is very handy if needed for a second car

There needs to be better directions for finding the property on Booking.com The apartment is located at the top of the Helmsman Guesthouse, I was only pre-warned about this by another review which made it easier. Even so clearer directions would have been helpful. Both the toilet seats in the two bathrooms are very loose so these need attention please!!

Wonderful sea views in an apartment with potential

The property was self catering

1. The shower basket in the ensuite bathroom of the master bedroom is rusty and needs replacing 2. There was a shower room/toilet off the sitting room which had a sign on it saying do not use. Without the door being kept shut and the window in the room left open there was an unpleasant smell from the shower room. This needs attending to a.s.a.p. 3. More drawer space needed

Finding it once you had collected the keys from the hotel they should be a little sign above the key box’s saying to go into the hotel to the top floor as we spent a hour looking for the sea view apartment we found the ones at back but had no idea the sea view one was in the hotel under a different name a small notice would have stopped the stress we had

Avoid if you have young children (Not safe)

The location was exceptional. Could not be better I guess.

The property was advertised as child friendly ( in particular it states that children of all ages are welcome). NOT TRUE at all. We were staying in the top apartment. As you enter in the property there were steep stairs and immediately a landing with one bedroom door. In addition there was one piece of heavy wood over the stairs that was not secure in the wall (the latch was broken) that could easily fell on someone's head while climbing the stairs (quite dangerous may i say). All the windows were opening from the bottom and the security wire was still leaving a wide gap to fit a big child inside. The windows, apart from the kitchen were very old and the locks were not working, so my daughter could easily lift them. We didn't spent enough time in the apartment but still I can't imagine how stressful it could be for an even younger experimenting toddler. For safety conserns this property on the second floor is not for children below the age of 5-6. The cleaning was not great either. Probably just a quick hoover and change of sheets, but that was all. The doors were all heavy with strong quick closing mechanism, so keep that in mind for kids. The doors could lock from the inside and not open from the outside, but if you do the mistake not unlock it before going out, you would be locked outside the bedroom, as no keys were around. There is a coffee maker an kettle and that's it (no actual complimentary capsules and sugar). You would expect more for the price. Finally the duvet and pillows were really old, as I could see when checked pillowcases and bedsheets. Need of replacing. The whole floor was creaking and sinking, but that is expected for a very old building. I sent my comments to the lady (not all that but my safety concerns) and I was only told that these will be taken into consideration in the future... what can I say to that...

Sea View = Helmsman Guesthouse

We paid for sea view so we actually stayed in Helmsman Guesthouse (sister hotel) on seafront. I believe the apartments were in a separate building behind the Helmsman. Reasonably priced carpark nearby. Our room was situated in a 2 Bedroomed apartment which took up the the top floor of 4 storey terrace. Facilities were great - bed was huge and comfortable, sea view was excellent, ensuite was a bit snug but water pressure was good, and we were delighted to have the use of a kitchen, which we stocked up for our 2 night stay.

We had a sea front room and the kitchen was across the landing. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room. It was actually classed as a 2 bedroomed apartment - the second bedroom door off the landing was locked as we had only booked the 1 room (for which we had our own key). This was fine on the first night - we popped in and out of the kitchen as needed - all very relaxed. However on the second afternoon we were surprised by a couple coming up into the apartment and using the second bedroom. We hadn't envisaged sharing the kitchen and although our paths didn't cross, I felt a bit uncomfortable about the situation. The sea view was great however there are a lot of renovations going on in the adjoining building and the scaffolding obscured our view of the pier and across the frontage.

Pleasant

View on the Aberystwyth front is always special and view from the bedroom was lovely. Bed was very comfortable and king size. Excellent shared kitchen. Owner was very apologetic in her messages when things weren't right.

Title of the place is apartment which implies to me self contained units. This is a room in a shared apartment. The apartment has 2 bedrooms but the other room could be occupied by another guest. Your room can be locked but be prepared the whole apartment (kitchen and hallway) is shared.This wasn't clear on the description and it was therefore misleading. I believe this has now been rectified.

A really lovely apartment close to the seafront and things to do.

Fantastic location. Kitchen had all you need including coffee pods, tea etc. We were able to park our car on site.

We didn’t notice that you had to ask for toiletries until we’d gone out and bought some.

Comfy relaxing and homely

The apartment was absolutely beautiful with fantastic views. A nice little hamper on arrival and milk and butter in the fridge. It was spotless and the rooms were very spacious.

Superb

It was exactly as described, clean,comfortable and convenient. Sitting in the living room with a cup of tea, watching the sea was great.

A lamp in the living room would be a nice addition but can't think of anything else.

Perfect, comfortable, relaxing what more could one want

Perfect location, friendly hosts, the flat overlooked the sea. Lovely comfy beds. Rooms were warm and there was even complimentary Tea/Coffee/Milk(fresh), Bread, welsh butter and welsh cakes to greet us. Thanks so much

Kitchen facilities were very good. The apartment was clean. Really beautiful views. Quick responses to my questions. Comfortable apartment.

Second bedroom has quite a springy mattress that could be changed. Everything else was excellent.

Great location, overall happy with our stay.

Location is great this time of the year. Especially if you like to do a little bird watching. The murmuration of the starlings are a real treat. Overall, enjoyed our stay.

Bit of going back and forth with the owner regarding a manual that had been sent to my email address. This actually didn’t arrive until 15:30 on the day of arrival. 18 pages of information which is useful, however, would of been handy having a little further in advance. The toilet seat in the larger of the two rooms could do with a little tightening. This kept falling back down now matter how long long I would hold it up. Lovely view being so close to the sea, however if I am being picky then the windows could do with a bit of a clean to fully enjoy the view and watch the world go by. Overall, happy with our stay.

Great place to stay

Lovely winding staircase up to our apartment, Fabulous views from the lounge and bedroom. Comfy bed and a well equipped kitchen. There's plenty to do and great places to eat out. There's so many places to stay that we don't normally stay twice in the same place but we will be making an exception here, we had a wonderful break
