About this cabin rental
If you are looking to visit Cloudcroft, Fairway Chalet is the place to stay! It's one of the few cabins with beautiful views, privacy, close to main village AND overlooks one of the highest elevation golf courses in the world. It's small but comfortable and very relaxing outside. It's great for one or two couples. The top loft room is good for two younger ones. It's 50 years old so it's not perfect ( a little rustic ) but we try to keep it updated and as clean as possible. There are stairs inside and outside. If your are familiar with CC you will love this cabin. You have the whole place to yourself and we are always available by text or call. Neighbors in the area are helpful too. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!

This was our second year staying here and it was just as cozy and relaxing as last year. Every morning we watched the sunrise from the couch as we sipped our coffee and planned our day. It was the perfect long weekend getaway and we look forward to returning next year.

It met all of families needs. The kids enjoyed running around on the golf courage looking for animals in the evening.

We loved sitting by the fire pit in the evening when the deer come through. Fantastic, cozy cabin!

We had a great stay in the quiet neighborhood! Close to town and enough space for our family of 5 teenagers. Had all kitchen utensils to cook and washer/dryer to do some laundry. Provided lotion, shampoo, conditioner, cooking oil, salt and pepper and cone filters for ground coffee.

This rental needs a lot of work. There are about 16 steps to enter from street. Not good for anyone with physical limitations. Master bedroom is basement lots of spiders. Coffee maker but mo pot. Kitchen is minimal and ground floor living area is tiny. It is a beautiful view but not as advertised. We left a day early.

Absolutely loved our stay in Cloudcroft. The owner was responsive and the cabin was delightful. The area is beautiful and hiking is super close. There was a community art fair going on and plenty of shops to go through. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped for all of our needs. Can't wait to stay again

We searched carefully to find this property before booking a reservation on VRBO. We were very familiar with the area around the Cloudcroft Golf Course, because my husband vacationed in Cloudcroft with his family from a very early age. The Fairway Chalet met all of our expectations. The balcony views of the golf course and pine forest are superb. The house is very well stocked with dishes, linens, towels, and other supplies. The appliances work well and the house was very clean. We hope to enjoy this property again some day soon.

We had a great time, but property is somewhat run down and needs some upgrades. Blinds falling apart, deck is run down and living room TV has a terrible picture. Also needs a deep cleaning- lots of cob webs in corners, dead bugs and dirt in window seals and food under cushions. Linens, sink, toilet and bathtub were clean. Lastly, there is no A/C and when we arrived it was 80 degrees in the cabin. We had to open doors and windows. Suggest maybe some big fans or a portable A/C for the summer. Check in was a breeze, but email said check in was at 3:00 and we arrived the cleaning lady was still cleaning. I was told that check in wasn’t until 4:00, so website needs to be updated.

While this wasn’t quite as fancy as some of the other offerings in the area, it was clean and had everything we needed. Plus the price was right and the owner was very accommodating. This would be great for some family/friend ski trip with all the beds and room they had!

Terrific setting, quiet, cool summer weather and the Lodge were our reasons to come to Cloudcroft again and we weren't disappointed. Well equipped. Not smart enough to run the LR tv and its remotes but downstairs was ez. Maybe I missed an instruction sheet, nbd. Like the proximity to the very cool Lodge, its one of a kind. Will visit again next year for sure.

Location right on a hill with beautiful views off the back porch is fantastic. We saw deer, elk, and wild horses out on the golf course at dusk. This is a nice little cozy and rustic place to stay.

The bathrooms are very small. The stair steps are very steep. Due to the steep stairs would not recommend for someone with knee and hip replacement as we found it very hard going up and down. The bed in one bedroom is too high to get up on it. Could be more clean.

We loved our stay in this quaint home. If stairs are your enemy then this would not be the one for you. This home has many stairs down to front door then once inside there are more stairs to master bedroom down on the lower level plus steep stairs to the loft bedroom. We loved the home it was so awesome to see all the wildlife on the golf course. We saw elk, deer, and wild horses. The owner was so great and easy to communicate with. I have a bad knee so the stairs were hard on me and I did have a mishap and fell going up from the lower bedroom not the stairs fault. I’d love to stay again but I’m not sure my knees agree. This home has everything you need to be comfortable. I bet the view from the big windows is pretty awesome during the winter.

Nice older cabin. Nice view from the house. Met our needs for this trip. Close to town. Host was pleasant and easy to talk to regarding check in and out process. It was a good trip for these guys and much needed. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the house but it could have been a bit cleaner, several light bulbs were out. Stairs were hard for our group (65 year old women).

We enjoyed our stay in the fairway chalet. It’s a cozy cabin with beautiful views of the golf course. It was so fun to watch the elk and deer from the fire pit area. We found the cabin clean, cozy and comfortable.

Charming cabin, well-appointed with cottage flair. Well stocked with every necessity. Beds were comfortable and towels are fresh. We had a very relaxed stay overlooking the golf course and watching the elk walk by.

Short Christmas Stay
Needed a quick getaway from the rigors of everyday life and before Christmas got rolling. Perfect stay. Quaint little cabin that was perfect for just relaxing. Easy to get to town and location was adjacent to the golf course so plenty of wildlife to see.

Charming & close to all the things
Such a cute place only half a mile from the sweet little shopping area and town strip. We borrowed the red plastic sled which was a lifesaver (and better than the ones we brought) to use at White Sands :) Our family of four loved each having our separate charming spaces to spread out. And we woke up to snow on our last morning there!

Fairway Chateau review.
Overall, a wonderful stay! The view from the porch and living room was breathtaking. The location was easy to find. There was however a bunch of dead flies on the floor and window sill that we had to clean up. The cabin, although cozy, was NOT as big as portrayed in the web pics. Lots of space heaters to keep it warm. But if 3 or more were turned on, the breaker would flip. This is a great cabin. I would recommend to other and I may stay there again.

Our NEW GoTo Cabin!!
I have been booking our annual Golf Trip each year for the past 30 years for myself and three other gentlemen. For the past 7 years we were using another VRBO with great success but while booking for this year (2021) I discovered that it had been sold and the new owner was not interested in renting. I was concerned that I would not be able to find another property as good as we had become accustomed but then I came across this property and it was Absolutely Amazing in every detail that we needed! This property is located perfectly for ANY location within Cloudcroft and is very well maintained! Plenty of room for four adult men (or even a family) and all of the amenities were a blessing as well! One thing to note is this property does have a lot of stairs and anyone with knee issues that has trouble taking stairs may need to reconsider this location. Our group is made up of 4 Men ages mid 50's to early 60's with past health issues of Heart rate fluctuations, severe back arthritis, fuzed ankle, and even brain surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor. So we are no longer spring chickens but we were however able to enjoy our stay and did not have any issues with the stairs and were able to enjoy playing 72 holes of golf. (of course we rented carts). We did eat out as we have a tradition of eating at "Big Daddy's Diner" for supper and breakfast. The windows open for an incredible breeze to flow cool mountain fresh air into the cabin and there was plenty of heat if needed. The owner is very attentive to any of your needs and was only a phone call away. We are looking forward to continuing to rent this cabin for as long as we can as this was an Amazing find and we couldn't be happier!!! Enjoy the Mountain Chalet on your next visit to Cloudcroft, you will be glad you did!!

Nice property with a beautiful view.
We had a wonderful vacation to Cloudcroft and this property certainly enhanced the experience. It was a great launch/landing place for all of the tourist spots in the area. The owner, David, was very nice and helpful with the arrangements. He even recommended we eat at a local BBQ restaurant, Mad Jacks Mountaintop BBQ, which served up the best brisket I've ever eaten. Four thumbs up from us!

A True WORKOUT!
The pictures on the site were not exactly true upon arrival. What needs to be explained on the site is the amount of steep stairs entering down to the cabin and to the stairs inside. For senior citizens its very difficult even for us 50 year old's but we managed. The basement bedroom was cold and damp and musty. The bed on the main level was too high that my mother couldn't climb onto the bed and with no stepping stool available it was funny trying to see my mom attempting it, so down to basement bedroom she went with a bit of help. We had a good laugh about the quirky tiny bathroom upstairs. The table to eat on was an antique but it was too low we kept hitting our upper legs when sitting on chairs The place needs a good cleaning , there was a lot of dust and as for the rugs on the floor, pick up your feet that way you don't trip. Another concern was the front door, from the inside it was difficult to open it to get out could be a possible fire hazard. Downstairs deck we did not use due to the rotted wooden floor. We enjoyed ourselves and I'm pleasantly surprised how well my 80 year old parents dealt with the stairs . They had to take it nice and slow. We young bucks had a good work out. In the end we enjoyed ourselves and were able to enjoy the view from the upper deck after a bit of rain . The cabin is definitely for younger travelers.
