About this house rental
With two living areas there is room for the book reader, the game player, or the TV viewer. We created a small home office area for those of you lucky enough to work from “home”!
We of course hope we share enough travel and dining tips you’re just there to sleep and relax before your next days outing! There is a nice kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, gas range and oven.
This 1950’s cottage take you back to a simpler time yet with all the comforts expected!
We’ve completed a full exterior renovation with new porches, Azec decking, roof and paint! There is seating on both the screened and open sides of the porch, as well as the backyard.
We keep our home sprayed quarterly for bugs and and we clean to the highest standards!
Once you book, I am always available via VRBO messaging or give me a call/text. We want you to enjoy our home as much as we do!

The pictures really dont do this house justice. there is so much space and is so comfortable. Stuart was so easy to work with and she continuously checked in on us to make sure our stay was going well. She cares deeply about the guests experience in her home and I couldn't reccomend this place enough. The location is also amazing.

We stayed over spring break. The island was busier than we were used to but the house and the location were tremendous. The front porch is great for sitting with your family, listening to music and relaxing. The house has plenty of room for at least 6 people maybe more (it was just the four of us). The house is a short walk to the beach and a stones throw to some of our favorite restaurants. Stuart was easy to get ahold of but honestly we didn’t need her. Couldn’t ask for a better host, house or location for our family of four.

"Easy Walk to Beach" was a spacious cottage with a good location. Proximity to restaurants [Crab Shack/King and Prince] and short walk to the beach. Lot of goodies upon arrival and the things you need. Stuart was most helpful and pleasant to work with. Highly recommend it.

What a terrific property for a wonderful family and friends Thanksgiving. Perfect location and amazing attention to detail for guests’ comfort. Such an easy checkin and stay. So many thing supplied in the kitchen. Felt like home from the minute you walk in the door. Great beach memories made this past week. We will be back!

Overall excellent house, and great location. Will stay at this house again if we come back to this area for vacation. One thing I have to mention, is that they took the time to label all the light switches. Makes so easy to know what to turn on or off. These are just of the many things that make this place exceptional.

Ok - I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t leave a lot of reviews, good or bad. But this place was absolutely perfect for our family’s stay during the 4th. First off, the location is incredible. Around the corner from 2 of the best restaurants on the island with Crabdaddy’s and Crab Trap. The King and Prince is essentially 2 streets over, but it’s literally so close that you can walk in less than 5 minutes. We had several friends in town for the 4th with their kids (we have teens - 14 & 17), so we rented a golf cart and bikes so they could go and do as they wanted. On your way to the beach from the house, stop by the Beachcomber Bar and grab a pina colada. They also have fantastic burgers!
Secondly, the house was absolutely the perfect size - it’s quaint, but not small. And it’s CLEAN. Has a decent size back yard but we spent our time at the beach mostly, but enjoyed a few hours on the screened in front porch for morning coffee. Also - the house had several things that came in handy - like refreezable ice packs (we used the heck out of those every day), a soft beach cooler, beach toys, beach chairs, and the list goes on…Stuart was incredible and I felt like we made a new friend with her constantly checking in to make sure things were going good. We look forward to booking here again soon!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay here. The friendly host reached out to ask if we needed anything, but we never did need anything because everything was in perfect order and available when we arrived. This was our family’s third time at SSI and this is our favorite neighborhood on the island. We felt close to everything, had a lovely porch each morning to drink coffee and hang out, had cozy chairs and couches indoors to watch movies at night, and all the beds were comfy, too. The home was clearly decorated with love and I enjoyed all the art and little touches. Lots of beach towels and beach chairs and extra extras. I hope we can come back again and stay one day. :)

This house with both an open and screened-in porch was such a treat and a balm to our weary urban souls. It's going to be hard to write a succinct review if I list everything my spouse and I loved about it, including the ceiling fans, kitchen skylights, room for two to work remotely, and extraordinary cleanliness. When Stuart called to check on our week, I told her our dream about returning.
I'll end by saying we loved the location, slightly less than 1 mile from the pier and Lighthouse Museum, highly walkable and bikeable. The neighborhood itself was quiet, and with the bedrooms easily darkened, we slept like rocks. Because there were several businesses about 3 blocks away, we easily rented bikes to keep for the week and patronized five of the restaurants there! We walked on the beach every day and sat on the porch every morning and evening and at other times too. We never watched the television....

We had a great stay and hope to visit again soon. Stuart is an excellent host! Great touches like stocked coffee bar, beach chairs and towels, starter shampoo and toothpaste, and well stocked pots/pans. Loved the gas cooktop - put out way more heat than ours at home. Short 6-7 minute walk to beach and easy walk to very popular restaurants. Enjoyed sitting on screened-in porch and reading. Didn't have opportunity to take advantage of the outside table and chairs in backyard but maybe next time. Easy home to recommend for your next trip.

The host, Stuart, is amazing. She is responsive and sweet. The cottage is fully outfitted, with lots of extra touches to make your stay complete and very comfortable. The cottage is immaculate, also. We were a party of four old friends. We loved having two bathrooms and four sleeping areas. We loved both the screened in porch and the open porch area. The neighborhood is quiet. In short, we all felt very comfortable, safe, and had enough space. I would highly recommend this host and this cottage. Extra bonus - Stuart's check out instructions are simple, and easy to get done as you fly out the door to make your flight or head home. Thank you, Stuart!

This was an extremely clean, well-equipped cottage (others advise you to bring beach chairs and towels; not here since those are provided). All you could want in a kitchen, plenty of towels, large rooms, comfortable beds, plenty of storage space. The host was phenomenal: prompt on a couple of questions, the easiest check-in, friendly, sincere. This cottage, and its neighborhood ooze charm and character. My wife and I want to go back. We also referred a friend (who stayed in the area at another property at the same time we did), who promptly booked this property for later after looking at this one. I could not recommend this property more highly. My advice to anyone is to book it and enjoy your trip (just don't do it when we want to return, OK?).

We had a great stay at the house over the Thanksgiving holiday. The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed hanging out on the front porch, and the house has a nice fenced in backyard as well that was good for the kids. The property owner was very kind and easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed staying at this house. The beds were very comfortable! The kitchen was one of the most equipped that I have seen and the front screened porch was so relaxing for morning coffee. You can walk to restaurants and shops from the house. It was fantastic!

Warm, welcoming home that is wonderfully appointed with everything needed for a great vacation. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked, and there isn’t a bad place to sit in the living room! Stuart was very communicative throughout the booking and stay. We would definitely stay here again!

This house was furnished with everything you could need. So enjoyed relaxing on the front porch each morning with coffee and each evening. Location is perfect for getting on the beach or dinning.

Renting this process was easy to set up, and the host had good communication around the initial booking (months prior to our stay); however, the house was not prepared for guests. It was upon arrival when the host mentioned that internet may not work due to a new router installed. This was compounded by the AC unit not working on arrival as well. We had to restart the AC, and the host tried to restart the wifi router but could not. These two situations instilled a fear of being taken advantage of by the host, on top of being uncomfortably hot and having to arrange different solutions for remote work that needed to happen. Voicing these concerns led to the host asking us to leave her property if we wanted a refund and VRBO finding emergency accommodations for us. It was the most stressful way to start a vacation, and the request to leave put us in shock. I’ve never been treated so rudely or had my experiences disregarded by a host in this way, and it left us with a very bad experience and still seeking to hear from the review committee about a full refund. Please help.

My family stayed at this house for 4 nights and we wished we had scheduled a longer stay. The house was perfect for us. Everyone had their own space and the screened in porches at night were heaven. A cool breeze off the ocean and the beautiful crepe myrtle lining the property gave a sense of peace and calm. The beach wagon was an extra plus as we just packed everything in the wagon and walked across Ocean Blvd to the beach. Location was perfect and easy to walk to many places. Will definitely stay there again.

The pictures don’t do this cottage justice. A lot of time and thought and care went into making this a comfortable, affordable home away from home. It is close to everything and within walking distance of restaurants and downtown. I wound rent from Stuart Russel anytime.

We cannot say enough good things about this home! We LOVED this home and enjoyed our week at St. Simons. We would definitely stay here again. Location and cleanliness was great and had lots of inventory for us to use. The owner was great to work with and so sweet. She made the process very easy! I would highly recommend this home to others.

SSI’s best hostess
We had an excellent visit again this year and Stuart was so easy to work with. The house has everything you need, is in an excellent location and is convenient to everything. Want coffee? Hop on your bike or walk. Ice cream after supper? Ditto. Walkable beach access close by or hop in the car for a short ride to the Coast Guard station beach. The owners are very helpful and quick to respond to questions.

Perfect family beach vacation
The house was not only in a perfect location it was perfect for a family with a small child. The house was clean and the extra living area off the kitchen with comfy chairs was a perfect play room for our grandson. The location of the house is so quiet and peaceful it is hard to believe that it is so close to the beach and so many busy restaurants. One of the other things I loved about the house was that we didn't have a list of things we had to do before we left, the instructions simply said "if you have a tide pod you can start a load of towels but if you don't that's okay". Of course we straightened up and took out the trash but not having another thing to worry about while we were trying to pack and entertain a 2 1/2 year old was priceless!! Thank you Stuart for making everything so easy and for responding so quickly to my questions you are without a doubt a five star host!!

Perfect Getaway
We had an incredible time staying at this house. The location was perfect. Even though we brought a car, we walked most of the trip, the beach and restaurants are only a few blocks away. The house was perfect for our family of 5— we could’ve easily brought more people and had plenty of space! The house was super clean and had everything we needed for a trip to the beach. Can’t forget the amazing screened in patio that we spent our mornings drinking our coffee and evenings sipping wine. The host was incredibly helpful and kind and provided extra laundry pods, towels, coffee, and beach chairs. Thanks again!

Location can’t be beat!
This was the best vacation we ever had. Five of us fit perfectly. Location was the best. One minute walk to top rated restaurants and 20 minute walk to the pier. The decor is beautiful and you will LOVE this beach cottage. Walk to the beach in minutes. Stop scrolling , you won’t find a better house.

Most stocked house EVER
Miss Stuart the owner was more then kind. We chatted quit a bit and I loved that.
The house was more then stocked had more then any other house we’ve stayed in. Beds are comfortable, shower was great and the outside area was perfect ! I liked walking to crab trap and pelicans for a soda and snacks. We usually stay right by the beach but I think I liked this better. I would love to stay here again it really felt like home. This was our best trip with the family and we have been coming to SSI for 25 years. or more. Thanks Stuart for everything!

Beautifully Updated Cottage
My family spent 4 nights at this property and enjoyed it thoroughly. The house was extremely comfortable. and nicely decorated. Our four year old granddaughter loved the porch and back yard. We loved the fact that the house was so close to the beach and great restaurants also. My husband enjoys cooking and kept commenting on how nice and well stocked the kitchen is. We cooked most nights so this meant a lot. We would definitely love to stay here again on another trip to our favorite island.
