The primary suite has a private bath and an ocean view.
Things to Know
The Sea Colony Recreational Association requires a per-person resort fee for guests four and older. This fee varies by time of year and is mandatory.
Delaware regulations require all guests sign a lease agreement within 10 days of booking. A lease agreement will be sent within 24 hours of booking, and an electronic signature is required before final check-in information is made available.
**Sea Colony will have ongoing construction from September through May. There will be construction noise that may be heard in the surrounding homes. Please be aware that this may be loud at times.

The ocean view is the best thing going here! The property is short walking distance to coffee, drug store and several restaurants. Walk to downtown shops/activities is about a 10 block/15 minute walk. Condo amenities are dated and carpets could use a cleaning, but you're close to the water!!!

The unit is a top floor in the center building at the Sea Colony. It has a terrific view with an open living room/dining room. The kitchen was recently remolded. Bathrooms have been updated at the same time. The living room furniture is dated but fine for a week. What we liked: the view and ease to the beach/pools and quick walk to town or tennis. We enjoyed the Thursday night DJ on the beach. What could of been better: the room didn't come with kitchen bags, or a working vacuum cleaner or toilet paper. What I'd recommend to change: the 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds that are remarkably uncomfortable. The room is big enough for two full beds. or at least another King or queen. That way 2 couples could share that unit or 2 kids could share the bed. even 2 fulls you could get another couple and 2 kids in that room. At the very least get 2 new twin beds. The kids bedroom is pretty depressing too-could use some more light paint and new carpet.

The room is well laid out - very clean and well kept. My reservation with the room and honestly the whole facility is the lack of Safety awareness and considerations. e.g. We experienced a Fire Alarm at ~2am one evening - there wasn't an evacuation route posted anywhere - the Exit signs in the Hallway were not well defined and the Stairwell door was not marked as the stairway - there was no communication system or feedback during and after the event. Mats for the Shower rooms are not provided. We had family staying over this same period - their shower door actually exploded! No bumpers in the shower. Glass hitting metal!

When we checked in the property had not been cleaned well. Ceiling fan caked with black dust and dirt falling on the bed, snack mix on the floor, handprints on surfaces and my husband stepped on broken glass in bedroom. No one responded til 4 days after we checked in and she only dusted the ceiling fan. While we were out one day, maintenance entered the condo without notification and stacked all the outdoor furniture blocking the LR, DR and BR door. A storm was due 3 days after they entered but with notification we could’ve removed the furniture in time. The experience was so unsatisfactory we left a day early. The response of on-site management was they “ran out of time to take care of our concerns.”

The undercover parking spot was great. It kept the car cool and out of storms. When we came off the beach, we could put our umbrella and chairs in the trunk instead of carrying them upstairs. The kitchen and laundry room had many available shelves, cabinets, and drawers, so there is no need to keep your groceries on the countertop. The A/C was quiet and did a good job, and the mattresses were comfy. The kitchen could use some sharp knives and a good, dishwasher-safe cutting board. The dishwasher, washer, and dryer were modern and had lots of settings to choose from...I was a little confused at times! The keyless entry was so useful with family members coming and going all day---no key to keep track of. Checking in and out was very easy.

Fabulous views, short on amenities
Top floor views of the beach, easy access to the beach. The actual apartment was a bit tired. The kitchen was redone, but dreadfully short of utensils - 6 cups, 6 plates, 6 forks - you get the picture !

Birthday getaway
We enjoyed our stay at this property, and would stay there again. It was February, so it was nice and quiet. The view from this penthouse apartment is spectacular! The place was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Our only complaint (it's minor), is that the TV is far from the couch sectional, making it hard to see and read.
