About this house rental
KPort Concierge is happy to invite you to this one of a kind property. Built in the 1860s, it is full of charm and vintage touches with a cool old barn, lovely marsh views, and tidal access out to the open ocean.
The barn has been converted into a play space for both adults and children alike with a ping pong table and shuffleboard downstairs, and additional sleep space in the form of a long, built-in daybed and a playroom full of activities and games for the kids upstairs. This connects to the old part of the house via a mudroom, where you will find life jackets for everyone in the family and beach gear should water activities be on the agenda.
The old part of the house includes a full bath with a shower, clawfoot tub, a ground floor bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and a custom-built staircase made from salvaged wood from Brooklyn, New York.
Upstairs you will find the “bunk room” with 5 built-in twin beds and a large tv- perfect for movie and sleepover nights- the kids’ #1 request when building the house. There are two additional guest rooms with queen-sized beds and the primary bedroom, boasting soaring, beamed ceilings, a 65” television, and a balcony with the best water views in the house. Restoration Hardware beds and Puffy Cloud mattresses combined with ceiling fans and screened windows for Maine nighttime breezes ensure a pretty perfect night of sleep. An en-suite primary bathroom and a guest bathroom with a shower and clawfoot tub complete the upstairs. This house has a king bed, two queen beds, and eight twin beds.
Downstairs, the heart of the home is the great room extension. This room houses the kitchen, living, and dining areas. This room is made for entertaining and congregating, with an open kitchen with a professional-grade gas range and modern appliances, a salvaged wood Island with seating for 3, and a vintage wood dining table that seats 12.
The living space is decorated in serene neutral tones and includes a 65” inch tv, a gas fireplace for cool nights, and sliding doors out onto the back deck, with views out to the water. Out back, you will find a built-in stone fire pit for s’mores nights and a stone pathway out to the water, where kayaks and paddle boards are available for use. Explore the marsh waterways that weave through the Rachel Carlson Nature Preserve adjacent to the property (excellent for bird watching) or paddle out to the breakers and watch for the big boats heading out.
Aside from having its own village with a gourmet market, a grocery store, retail shops, several delicious dining spots, Cape Porpoise is only a couple minute drive from downtown Dock Square in one direction and a couple of minutes to Goose Rocks Beach in the other direction. Being compact, everything in Cape Porpoise is an easy walk or bike ride from their house, and almost everything they could need is right there.
A typical visit involves stocking the house with groceries from Bradbury Market, breakfasts spent at Musette or Cape Porpoise Kitchen, picking up lobsters from Nunan’s Lobster Hut, shopping for house goods at Farm + Table, and dinners or drinks at The Ramp, Pier 77 or The Lost Fire. These options are within one mile of the house, making leaving Cape Porpoise during any visit entirely optional.
The recreational activities listed are available either on site or nearby; fees may apply.

It’s the second time we rented this house! We love it and the service is exceptional !

We had a wonderful stay here! The house is lovely, very clean and comfortable. Easily accommodated our crew of adults (siblings) and kids (cousins). We all enjoyed paddle-boarding and kayaking right off the back yard, the cove is serene. Conveniently located, a close drive to Biddeford or Kennebunk beaches. The property managers were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Fantastic place, we will be back!

Enjoyed our trip to Cape Porpoise. Great location. The home was quite comfortable and clean. Our teenage sons enjoyed playing ping-pong and darts on site. Within walking distance to a couple of food markets.

We had a fantastic stay over New Years - four families (grandparents and cousins) and the place felt ideal for a reunion. It's beautiful. The space is perfect for families with kids because there is an entire separate space for games. The only 'challenge' may be deciding who gets the master suite (which is absolutely gorgeous). We will certainly be back!

Ten ladies celebrated my 75th birthday in Cape Porpoise and had a blast. Everything was perfect. The communication from the property manager was outstanding! We loved the fire pit! Great house to vacation in!

The freshly redone property at 41 Mills easily handled our large group of 9 adults and two children, 3 & 5. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The large kitchen & dining area was well appointed and made meals easy for us. Kayaking & paddle boarding right from the backyard was a treat. The game room was perfect for a rainy Saturday. Our expectations were pleasantly exceeded.

Our family was absolutely thrilled when we arrived to find the property nicer than we could have imagined, even nicer than the VRBO description. The comfort, style, relaxed ambiance and lovely setting were ideal, with a layout that could suit varied groups, including the young children with us, and space and privacy for all.
We were already familiar with the area, appreciating the quiet escape from crowds and traffic, yet with lobster pounds, chowder shacks, local grocers and shops close by. We loved the ease of launching kayaks from the back yard for daily paddles and enjoyed short excursions to a choice of beaches, nature preserves and coastal towns.
The property was superbly managed, with quick and helpful response to any questions. Our three generations had a wonderful week here and look forward to returning.

Impeccably clean, artfully de cored, comfortably furnished, well stocked, peaceful relaxing surroundings and view. We were having a sister's retreat, but it would also work very well with the family with children. Highly recommend

What makes this stay unique to us was how well equipped it was for all age groups. Kayaks, paddleboards, canoe, lifejackets, etc. for some, a child's playroom for the very young, ping-pong and shuffleboard for indoor activities, the fire pit, beach towels and chairs, corn hole, beach towels, outdoor shower, two bikes, etc., etc. We could have pretty much shown up with nothing because everything was provided. Dining room table sat a dozen comfortably, bathrooms were well stocked, lovely view off the back deck. All in all a great place for a family gathering. I grew up not far from this location and certainly enjoy this end of town. It's a shot walk to the grocery store and a quality take out sandwich/coffee/etc shop. We felt we got our money's worth out of this stay!

A Little Oasis
We felt very at home during our stay and truly appreciated the beautiful decor and superb hospitality! The fuzzy rugs at the side of the bed were one of the best touches. What a way to start the day! We have not seen our group of friends from Boston and Rhode Island in three years and loved all the memories we made. This was a perfect home for families who want to enjoy the adventures of the world together. The kayaks were a hit and the home is even prettier in person! The kitchen had everything you could need. We would love to come back in a couple of years :)

Perfection Found at The Blue Barn
This trip was my introduction to Maine. I had never experienced a north east vacation but Cape Porpoise might just be my new favorite place. Everything about this property was wonderful. The house was clean, neat, and so comfortable. We found ourselves looking for the manufacturer names on furniture items because it was so comfortable. The kitchen was well prepared and allowed us to do a lot of cooking easily. The availability of outdoor activities was also amazing. Our kids spent the majority of the days playing in the yard, in the water/mud or on the boats. We swam, waded and fishes a lot. If the kids weren’t outside they were enjoying the game room in the barn. We had a large group, 10 in all (5 adults, 5 kids) and we all had plenty of room. We never felt on top of one another.
The location on Cape Porpoise couldn’t have been better. The little local shops just down the street are all lovely! They offer perfect items with kind service. Go try the Moose Cookies at the Cape Porpoise Kitchen! Delicious!!!
The management team was also fabulous. We had a slight hiccup with one of the AC units but it was quickly fixed on our first night.
I could go on and on but all in all it was just an absolutely amazing week in Maine.
Our group will be back because you can’t beat perfection.

Excellent House & Location
This may be the best VRBO house our group has ever stayed in. The decor, layout and location were excellent. We highly recommend for a group of adults or families.

Best time at the Blue Barn!
We had the best time on our spring getaway at the Blue Barn! Our group included myself and my husband, our 2 kids (3 1/2 and 1 1/2) and my parents. There was more than enough room for all of us spread out and relax. The design and decor is so tastefully done- beautiful and relaxing for the grown ups, while thoughtful about the setup so that it was very kid friendly. (Parents will relate to the feeling of getting to a rental home and immediately identifying and moving all the things kids can break or hurt themselves on- not a factor at all here!) We were particularly delighted about the fully stocked kids playroom in the barn loft! I’m sure kid-free travelers will love it just as much for the spacious design, fully equipped kitchen, relaxing bed and bathrooms complete with soaking tubs, and location.
Location is great- walking distance to all of Cape Porpoise (although many of the restaurants were not yet open in early April during our stay) and a quick drive into KPT town center.
Joy, the property manager was great- very responsive and checked in to ensure we had everything we needed.
Thanks for a great stay- we can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful!!!
My sisters and our daughters had a wonderful stay this past week. The property is very comfortable with ample space. We enjoyed making a couple of meals in the beautiful kitchen, which was well stocked with everything one would need. We especially loved walking out back and checking out the difference as the tide changed. The location is excellent with a walkable grocery market and deli/restaurant and Kennebunkport was just a short car ride away.

Fabulous girls' getaway
The house was stunning, clean, tastefully decorated, fun and just what we were looking for! Sunrise views were fabulous. Comfy beds were a bonus. Only suggestion is more coffee mugs for mornings chatting on the porch. We made easy day trips into York, Portland & Ogunquit. Thanks for a great stay.

Wonderful Stay
My husband and I had a truly wonderful time staying here. The house is so peaceful, comfortable and beautifully done. Loved being able to walk into Cape Porpoise, could ride bikes into KPT and truly did not want to leave. We stayed during peak leave changing time and it was such a special time to be there. Will definitely stay again

Great house, Great location
This house is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The views are amazing and the game room was a huge hit with the whole family. It's located close to town and has a market and small grocery right down the road. We needed to contact Joy with the management company for a few minor issues, and she was very responsive, easy to deal with and very accomodating. We needed to YouTube the gas stove in the kitchen to learn how to turn it on, but we learned pretty quickly. It seems to be a pretty new rental, so the kitchen could use a few supplies: platters, baking sheets, hand mixer and a teapot. We made due with what was there, and we had a wonderful stay. We hope to visit again next winter!
