About this house rental
Matterhorn Hill is a 3-story, 2,620 square foot house in Lake Arrowhead, just minutes from the lake, Santa's Village, and all that Lake Arrowhead has to offer. The house sleeps up to 12 people in 14 beds. Unfortunately, our rental permit only allows for 10 guests. It has a fully stocked chef's kitchen, enough room for 20 people to dine, and a host of other amenities. All you need to bring is your food and clothes. Everything else is provided. OK, you might need to bring your toys and games. The property is sloped with a hill that runs by the side of the house. We have sleds and toboggans available to use on the property in the winter.

Our rental permit allows up to 10 people. There's a minimum 3-night stay that includes a major holiday.
The upper floor bedroom features 2 queen beds, a comfy sofa bed, and it's own bathroom with tub and shower. There is also a loft with a futon bed and card table.
The main floor has 2 bedrooms. The elk room features a king bed with smart TV, ceiling fan, luggage racks, and large closet. The bear room features a queen bed with smart TV, ceiling fan, luggage racks, a large closet, and a desk for homework or that last-minute job task.
The lower game room features two full-size bunk beds with trundle beds, offering a ton of sleeping area. There is also a smart TV, pool table, cozy leather couch, games, refrigerator and microwave, fireplace, ceiling fans, and its own half-bath.
In case you need to wash some cloths or towels, there is a separate laundry room located on the lower floor.
We have room for 1 car on the front parking deck, and 4 cars in the rear. We cannot allow any more cars than that on our property.
The home includes a backup generator for those rare power outages.
This home is ideal for family vacations, getaways with friends, or small retreats.
There are 5 smart TVs with the Spectrum app installed and a Roku device in the living room, which will allow you to get a variety of cable channels and apps.
We also have great Wifi!
The home has a gourmet kitchen with everything you need to prepare your meals. In the kitchen is a regular coffee maker, and also a Keurig machine. We supply some coffee, coffee pods, creamer, and sugar. There are also some spices in the kitchen.
We have a play pen and a high chair at the house. There is also a baby gate to block the stairs for families with small children.
The game room has a pool table and some additional games are available upstairs in the loft. The upper loft area features a card table in case you're in the mood for some poker or other card games.
Outside on the deck is a barbecue supplied with propane.
In case of snow, there are snow shovels, a regular shovel, and snow-melt pellets for the decks and walkways.

- Please DO NOT bring your own bedding and pillows. We have plenty of clean bedding and extra blankets at the cabin, and bringing bedding could subject the house to potential infestation of bed bugs, fleas, and other pests.
The house is a short 12 minute drive to Lake Arrowhead Village where there are many shops and restaurants, Stater Brothers market, and McDonalds. It's also a 5 minute drive to Will Abell Memorial Trail which features an easy, beautiful hike. A short 14 minute drive will take you to SkyPark at Santa's Village for activities like mountain biking, skating, zip-lining and more!

Please request the Lake Access Agreement for Short-term Rental Guests if you are interested in accessing the lake. The entire stay was great.

This is the BEST VRBO experience we have had with our family. The photos accurately depict that feel of this charming cabin. It has a rustic feel with wood and brick detailing from years past, while the interior has been beautifully updated and decorated to current trends. All of the bedding, blankets, pillows, towels were in excellent condition. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with supplies. The wifi was strong and the 5 smart TVs were linked to Roku streaming. The grandkids enjoyed the pool table and bunk beds on the lower level. There was plenty of parking. Our host was friendly and very responsive to our needs. We all agreed that we would rent this property again!

Cozy getaway home
Our stay at the Matterhorn Property was wonderful. Communicating with Shannon was effortless and very quick. There’s plenty of room for our party of 9. Kids loved the bunk beds and pool table.

Perfect for two families and kids
Beautiful mountain architecture and tasteful decor. It had everything our family needed to have a great weekend out of town. Plenty of parking and easy access. Kids had a blast in the game room while the adults played poker in the loft. Beautiful cabin; can’t wait to return in the winter.

Beautiful home/Unbeknownst Additional Guests
Rented this home to be near family for a Memorial/Celebration of life. Home was a perfect fit. Appeared very clean. Check in was a breeze & stay seemed to be perfect. However the Aftermath has been a nightmare. Every family member that stayed on bottom floor came home with bites all over their body & faces. One had an allergic reaction to the bites after Multiple Doctor visits it was confirmed by each individual’s doctor to be Bed Bugs. Host was very apologetic & said they have never had an issue must have been the people before us that brought them in. Assured that they fumigated after our stay. My family is dealing with enough, now over a week later the bites are still very painful & look awful. My Daughter & Niece who had the allergic reaction are severely depressed & traumatized. Never wanting to stay in another bed other than their own again.

We had a great time at Matterhorn! The property was very clean and the kitchen had everything necessary for our cooking. The downstairs room is great for the kids to play! We had several kids do distance learning while there and the internet was also great.There is a closeby park/trail to do sledding . The host was very responsive to our inquiries. I highly recommend.

Essentials were provided but unfortunately, we had to pay/fill up the propane for the grill it’s an inconvenience when all you want to do is start grilling and not have someone run to the store.
Host Shannon was kind and helpful through booking process.
The only negative situation we had was Neighbors did complaint of noise, when receiving a call from Shannon she was told we were gathered and being loud outside meanwhile in reality everyone was inside but our windows were open but since it did catch me off guard, I just told everyone to keep it down but then realize that the property has cameras she was able to see if anyone was outside before calling.
Other than that, it is a lovely home and recommend for a large group.

Start of new traditions
I booked this cabin for my family and my siblings families. We used to go to the mountains growing up and we wanted to start the tradition for our kids. I loved the size of the home. It was perfect for all of us. It was equipped with almost everything you can think of for all ages. There wasn’t much snow surrounding the home but if there had been we would have had the perfect sledding area for the kids. Trash can space is limited for the amount of people we had but we made it work the best we could. I would recommend this for a multi family trip with kids over and over. Shannon was extremely responsive and helpful through everything.

My family had such an amazing time at the Matterhorn Hill. Shannon fully prepared us in what to expect for checkin, amenities, location and always very prompt in her responses to questions. The cabin is located in a beautiful neighborhood within walking distance of a view of the lake. Great for families
We had an amazing time at Matterhorn Hill. There were 11 of us (3 adults, 8 kids - mainly teens) and we had plenty of space to spread out and be comfortable. The downstairs was where the older kids spent most of their time and they had everything they needed down there (TV, couch, bunk beds, bathroom, mini fridge and microwave). We hardly saw them!! Shannon was very quick at responding to any questions or concerns that came up during our stay. The location is great. We really liked the neighborhood and we even got to play in the snow right outside the cabin (which was a huge bonus). We would definitely recommend the cabin and hope to make another trip back sometime. Great place to stay with multiple families.

Beautiful Cabin
My family and I stayed at this beautiful, cozy, and comfortable cabin for New Year's Eve. We had the greatest time. The cabin was very clean. We found everything we needed for our stay there, and more. We even had a very nicely decorated Christmas Tree that kept our spirits up. Everything was as described online. Matterhorn Hill
We were a family of 7 adults and 4 children- four and under. The cabin offered us ample room to spread out and feel extremely comfortable. It was well stocked and every room offered the comforts of home. We were impressed by the size of each bedroom. The kitchen was well appointed and roomy. We especially liked the billiard table on the ground floor.

Heaven on Earth
Matterhorn Hill surpassed all of our expectations. It was meticulously clean! It had all that you’d need in a house in order to enjoy your weekend getaway. Due to all the fun games and large play room downstairs the children were always entertained. It was MUCH bigger than what we expected which we truly loved being that we were a big group. Everyone left very happy and impressed with how beautiful the house was.

Cute and cozy home in the mountains
We had a great time with family at Matterhorn Hill. The place is great for large groups, especially with kids. We happened to choose the weekend with snow, and the kids loved playing and sledding down the small hills around the property. There were a few toys available, a high chair, and even a pack and play. Shannon was a great host, very responsive, and super gracious when we had some trouble figuring out the snow chain situation for our vehicles when checking out. I would definitely recommend this vacation home and our family even talked about making this trip an annual one!

Family Baseball Retreat
Our family had an amazing stay here while one of our sons played in the Little League Northwest Regional tournament down in San Bernardino. It was a little bit a drive but one well worth it. There was plenty of space, it was very clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. The host was great to communicate with, always a quick response when we had questions.
