Welcome to Starfish Stays. Our little piece of paradise is located about 5 mins to a pristine private beach on the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This totally renovated Key West inspired studio is setting the standard on Manasota Key as one of eight units at Starfish Stays on the unique Manasota Key of Southwest Florida.
Starfish stays is an easy 5 minute walk to the beach for gorgeous morning walks, shell and shark teeth collecting, swimming, sitting under an umbrella, basking in the sun or watching the most beautiful sunsets of the Gulf. Plenty of complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels in the unit. Two custom built outdoor showers hit the spot to rinse away the sand and salt. We make it easy for you to relax and enjoy your vacation.
The grounds of Starfish feature a beautiful pergola complete with gas fire pit, bbq, cornhole games and seating for eight! This apartment also has an outside deck with seating.
The fantastic Stump Pass is 3 miles south of the property. Here you can fish, hike the nature trails, launch a boat or kayak or just relax on the secluded beach. Stump Pass is an excellent location for finding shark teeth. Parking is only $3 per day.
Blind Pass is one mile north on the key. There are nature trails, docks for fishing, kayak launches, and playground and picnic areas. There are public restrooms and outdoor showers as well as more beautiful beaches. Parking is free here and abundant.
Starfish Stays was completely renovated inside and out. Our property features 8 total vacations units. 2C is brand new and was completed November 2020. Everything is new down to the stainless appliances, queen size bed and custom countertop. Starfish 2C boasts a brand new queen bed and a sofa bed w/ upgraded brand new memory foam full size mattress for added comfort. We offer a fully stocked kitchen, full bathroom, and all linens.
Starfish Stays has eight units on the same property! Four two bedroom units, 3 studios, and a one bedroom unit. We can accommodate larger groups in several units.
We have our own private beach access, a TWO minute walk to the sand. Looking to avoid the big beach crowds? Our private beach is wide, sandy and PRIVATE.

The unit I stayed in, was perfect in every way for me. I needed a time out, for a few days, in a beautiful setting, and my expectations, were met. The location, is perfect, I felt very comfortable, ordering food, or driving to pick something up. Everything, from the beach, shops, food, etc, is nearby. Noise was non-existent, neighbors seemed friendly. The unit was very up to date, and clean. I made use of the laundry unit provided, and couldn't find anything, that wasn't as described. I found everything about the place, relaxing and just what I needed. I would gladly go back! Thank you!

Starfish 2C is my idea of the perfect place at the beach! It has everything needed including beach chairs, very nice beach towels, linens, a well stocked kitchen, very comfortable bed, a sofa bed, its own outdoor deck, an additional shared outdoor space with a fire pit and grill, and private beach access. The beach is located across the street. The condo is immaculately clean. The use of space is excellent. My sis-in-law and I traveled together and we were a little concerned about staying in a studio but this condo was set up so well, it worked perfectly for us. There is a free washer and dryer on site which is located super close to 2C. We appreciated the convenience of being able to do laundry while on vacation. Paula was quick to answer any questions and we had the pleasure of meeting her as she was onsite performing some upgrades. The pictures of the condo are great but it is even better in person!

The accommodations were great. The beach access was not what we expected based on pictures. The property folks were very good at responding to email questions quickly. Overall a good experience. We'd stay there again.

Studio apartment setup with wood deck on side of unit. [Not all units have the wood deck]. Stephanie the property manager onsite when we arrived. Stephanie was great and answered all our questions and more on the unit and private beach access. Place was perfect and comfortable with everything we needed if we ate in and for the beach. All we had to do was show up and enjoy our time off. Next trip to the Florida West Coast we will only stay at this property!

This was the perfect little getaway for our family. Everyone had a great time even the dogs. Cutest place ever, they thought of everything that you could possibly need. My only critique is that the bed was very hard, took a day to get used to! Some people like firm mattresses!

This adorable place made for the perfect weekend getaway! So many thoughtful touches (great-smelling bathroom toiletries, Starfish Stay merch gifts, fun beach decor) made it feel like home away from home.
The bed was very comfy, the full kitchen was updated and fully stocked with everything we needed to cook, and the ice maker was perfect for those beach cocktails!
Speaking of the beach, what a beautiful, private area we were able to access. It felt like being on a deserted tropical island! The room is close to the road, but we never were bothered by street noise, and the air conditioning worked great, even during the hottest part of the day.
The owners were extremely responsive to any questions or concerns we had, and were so kind. Very grateful we were able to bring our elderly dog with us, who loved sitting on our private deck smelling all the beach smells.
If there is any room for improvement, I would only add that it would be helpful to have a more dog-friendly area for potty breaks (I needed to carry her over the crushed shells to find grass on a neighboring property) and that the gate across the street for beach access was often a little tricky to open on the first try. Neither of those I would fault the owners for, and it looked as if they were planting grass as we were leaving.
The island itself is still recovering from last year’s hurricane in places, but in no way did it disrupt the beauty of the area. Very happy to have found this charming little place- thank you for a wonderful birthday weekend!

My family and I are so pleased with our stay! The place was incredibly neat, everything was really thought out. Its evident that the owners put a lot of thought into the property - we had beach toys in the closet, spoons, plenty of soap, etc. The owners were very thoughtful and texted me ahead of time to make sure we had access when we got there, very hospitable. The beach really is very close and the water is just perfect. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable, and affordable weekend by the shore.

Small space but just enough
The inside of the property was clean. The space was a little cramped, but just enough space for our short stay.
No fault of the owners, but since the rental is pet friendly, we did have to live next to noisy dogs and a smoker…I didn’t realize I was signing up for that.

Great place with close beach access
Super clean, beach was a short easy walk and a lot less crowded then the main beaches. Was perfect for us and our dog.
Restaurants and bars a mile and a half a away was able to use Stumpy free ride which worked out perfect for us!

Charming Christmas Getaway
What a great place to stay! This was our first trip to Manasota key, and we really look forward to coming back. The location of this property was excellent, communication was quick and helpful, and overall we had a fantastic time. Thank you Scott and Paula for hosting.

Disappointing
The place is clean and nicely decorated. For the money we spent, we think we could have found a place right on the water.. The walk to the beach wasn’t bad, but carrying chairs and other items can get tiresome. The process of getting into the apartment was the most difficult we have ever experienced. There was no physical key to use. You had to download an app to your phone to use as a key to get in. The door kept saying, door jammed. It wouldn’t lock unless you pulled the door and didn’t work if the power went out. There is no sound barrier between the top and bottom apartments. We were in the bottom apartment and the occupants upstairs Sounded like a heard of elephants. Heard talking, walking and banging til 1 am. If you’re a night owl it might not bother you.

Just an amazing place. Entire property is updated dog and family friendly. Common area with grill and cornhole. Walk across the street keep left at the end and your at the beach less than a 2 min walk. Bring your kayaks bikes or paddle boards because there are plenty of places to do it all. Owners are easy to contact and very responsive if you have questions. Either a romantic getaway or family vacation this is an fantastic place to stay

The Best Time Ever!
We decided to go to florida as a very last minute trip and when we were looking this place was perfect for us. We had wonderful weather, water water, everything you could as for. This home had everything it needed, I could not think of something that was missing or wrong. My favorite thing about this trip was; the extremely quick communication with the owner Paula. The walk to the beach was no more than 2 min, the Manasota little Town was also super fun to enjoy with a few restaurants, dolphin watching, and over the bridge we spent hours fishing. I Highly recommend this home and area, we will definitely be back.
