Casa Soñadora's location is also the best in Sayulita. It is located in the exclusive south-central area, directly above Sayulita's premier surfing and swimming beach on a little hill and 1 block to town. This area was the first developed by ex-pats who came to Sayulita over 40 years ago. It was chosen above all other areas in Sayulita because of its unsurpassed views of the surf break and the Nayarit coastline and its close proximity to the center of town and main swimming and surfing beach just 1 ½ blocks away. No car is needed when staying at Casa Sonadora, because everything in Sayulita is within a 5 minute stroll. (Another nice feature is the delightful 2 minute walk to town and beach via the beautifully flowering garden and meandering pathway, lovingly called "Lombard Street", referencing San Francisco's famous twisty road.)
Casa Soñadora is one large house that has 4 bedrooms, and a bunk room with 2 single mattresses that adjoins the lower king room so children can stay near their parents. It has 3-1/2 bathrooms, 2 outdoor showers, 2 Roman bathtubs and even a treehouse! The upper floor has a master suite with king bed, private veranda sitting area and gorgeous ocean views. It has an indoor and an outdoor shower and a large Roman bathtub. The second bedroom also has a private veranda with amazing ocean views. It has two queen bunk beds and a bathroom that can be shared with the 4th bedroom. The 4th bedroom sits between these bedrooms and has a king bed with a large LCD TV for use with DVDs with surround sound system and a terrace with the same exceptional ocean views. There are also 2 single rollaways if necessary.
There is a very large garden rooftop terrace with unbelievable 360 degree views of Sayulita Bay, the town and the jungle and mountains surrounding it. Under a massive palapa roof you have your own outdoor living room. The first floor of Casa Soñadora also has wonderful ocean views which can be enjoyed from the kitchen, dining room, living room and additional master suite. Off the dining room, there is an outdoor palapa sitting area with pool, garden and ocean view. The living room enjoys the same view with the pool just outside the sliding glass doors. The master suite downstairs is similar to the upstairs one, but bigger and without the outdoor shower, but with the addition of a large LCD TV (for use with DVDs) and sound system. It also has the small adjacent room with 2 bunks for children.
The entire house is beautifully designed and artistically appointed with antique Mexican art and traditional Mexican artifacts. Every bedroom has its own unique charm. They all are air-conditioned, have pillow top mattresses and luxury linens. The whole house has filtered drinking water and there is a pressurized water system too. The swimming pool is heated (great between December and April) and no chlorine or chemicals are used – it is ozone-treated with a touch of salt. There are lawns and beautifully landscaped private tropical gardens. There are DVD players, stereo systems (Ipod compatible) and satellite flat screen TVs. WiFi has also been installed. There is an outdoor shower by the pool and a treehouse with hammock where you can luxuriate in style with exceptional ocean views. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to add to the comfort, beauty and serenity of your stay. Regular maid, gardening and pool service is provided and our property manager, can make arrangements for a cook if desired.
If you book Casa Soñadora, you will be contacted with information (from airport travel from Puerto Vallarta to Casa Soñadora, to the best places to change your money, eat, etc.) Once you arrive Ernesto can recommend the best restaurants, masseuses and activities in the area. The peacefulness and beauty of this property cannot be conveyed in words or pictures. You are away from the town's bustle and directly above the surf break. You can listen to and watch the surf, the surfers, migrating whales and swooping birds while enjoying a cooling breeze. Just a short 2 minute walk down the meandering garden pathway and you are on the beach or a block from the town square. Casa Soñadora is literally your tropical dream come true.

Our family of 10 stayed in Casa Sonadora and it was the most incredible experience. The house is situated on a beautiful lot overlooking the water and in a convenient location with easy access to the main beach and heart of town. The home is stunning and comfortable and accommodated all of our guests allowing privacy when needed with all the outdoor areas. Beautiful sunsets from the rooftop. Highly recommend reserving a Cook for the night you arrive and Golf carts for zipping around town and to some of the other local beaches. Highly recommend and hope to return! Thank you Mark for sharing your home with us!

Very nice house to accommodate 10 . Daily maid service was great, and pool serviced often. Nightly security was welcomed.
We all enjoyed our vacation.

We had a wonderful stay. The manager took care of our driver to and from the airport without any issues.
The manager arrange a golf cart for us and also an in house dinner that was wonderful. Our cook was amazing and very accommodating.
The music from the party life in town didn't bother us at all. It was fun.
The house felt very safe and we didn't worry about a thing.
The only improvement or request we would put in was about the swimming pool which we planned to spend allot of time in. The pool itself needs a little care. Some of the tiles have come off and it was a tad murky. We didn't complain or they might have tried to fix the water. We didn't want to leave the pool for them to fix it. We also would have appreciated a couple of rafts for soaking up the sun on. All in all it didn't take away from our enjoyment and we would recommend it to others. We gave it 5 stars all the way around.

We just loved our week at Casa Sonadora! Everything about the house was just as described, or even better. The house was so comfortable, with lots of space for our group of 10 to spread out (including the teenagers). From the pool to the palapa rooftop deck, we utilized all the space. We loved seeing the iguanas sunning themselves on the tree outside and the kids spent lots of hours in the pool. The location, just up from town, was a bonus (including a great workout getting up the stairs/walkway) and we were able to quickly get down and grab something from the bakery in the morning, or walk through town and head to the beach! We had three private dinners (which we scheduled in advance with Ernesto the house manager) on the upstairs deck as the sun went down, which was not only delicious, but also a treat for our entire group. I would absolutely rent this house again, the communication was excellent, the amenities were better than we anticipated and you can't beat the location and views! Can't wait to come back, we miss the sunsets and margaritas already!

Our party of 11 (five adults, four recent high school graduates, and two teens) stayed in Casa Sonadora for three nights and wished we had stayed longer because it was FABULOUS!
The house manager, Ernesto was a great communicator and very helpful in arranging private transportation from the PV airport in Chevy Suburbans that included a grocery stop on the way to get supplies. He also had a golf cart delivered and scheduled a chef to come to the house and prepare an authentically delicious meal for us (highly recommended). The property was as advertised in the pics (clean and well maintained) and offered plenty of space for our large group, with the gems being the pool, the rooftop terrace, and the view! The AC was lovely, there were plenty of towels, there was jugged water provided to drink, and although we didn't cook the kitchen was well stocked. There was a daily housekeeper as well as nightly security stationed outside the gate.
As far as the town of Sayulita, the location was perfect; just a short 5 min path walk down to the friendly and lively town center. A Five-star vacation!!
**Traveller tip: Make sure to come with plenty of cash, as many restaurants and businesses were cash only and unfortunately the bank ran out of money for over 24 hours**

AMAZING home in Sayulita in the PERFECT location!
We totally recommend this amazing home - There were 8 of us (6 adults and 2 kids) and there was plenty of room. Everyone loved the pool and hanging out on the rooftop. The housekeeper came daily which was so nice and we had a Chef (that Ernesto set up) come 3 of the nights and her meals were DELICIOUS. Ernesto was fantastic and responded to our questions immediately though didn't have many as the house was wonderful. It's located close to town...an easy walk or a quick golf cart ride away. We will definitely be back!

Great Place in Sayulita!!!
Our family of 8 (the grandparents, parents and 2 boys) had a super time at Casa Sonadora in Sayulita over the Christmas holidays. Although the house itself is a bit "tired" (it needs some minor maintenance (like bad door locks, broken door jams, missing flooring planks in the tree house, etc), it was extremely clean and well-kept by Daisy, the daily housekeeper and it's location is perfect!!! It's very close to the beaches and a short walk to downtown. I also commend the chef. She made us some amazing dinners! The pool was perfect for the boys. There are good views from all the guest rooms, but from the roof top lounging area, it is spectacular. It's also perfect for watching the stars at night, a dinner meal, or having a party!!! By the way, the music from the Sayulita nightlife was loud and "all night long" but not bad when we closed the doors and windows and turned on the air conditioner. However, it was just holiday reveling and fun. If you want peace and quiet don't go to Sayulita over Christmas or Easter. The mass of people and noise disappears once the holidays are over and Sayulita then returns to being very laid back! All in all, Casa Sonadora is a very nice place!!!!

Beautiful home tucked above the town of Sayulita
Two families recently visited Casa Sonadora and had an amazing stay. The house was big enough to accommodate three children and four adults, with room to spare. The pool was perfect for the younger children who were still learning to swim and the tree house was a special escape for the kiddos. The property manager, house cleaner and chef were all so nice, thorough at their respective duties, and incredibly accommodating. The location is so close to town, as well as the beach. This is a property I would definitely consider returning to.

This place has it all!
Casa Sonadora was exactly what we hoped it would be and more. The home is beautiful, with terra cotta tile floors, big window walls that open up to the pool, and a massive palapa roof deck. We stayed with our family of 4, along with three other couples, and the home met all our needs. The staff was incredible, we had a chef prepare a delicious meal our first night, and the house manager helped with all our needs.
Location is amazing. You truly get full beach/ocean views, which seems to be pretty rare in Sayulita, and the house is literally one block from the beach, just a short walk down a landscaped path.
Can't recommend this place enough. We will try to stay here again on our next visit!

This property was perfect for us. The views were amazing! Simply beautiful. The distance to the beach and restaurants was very short.
I would highly recommend this place! Look forward to staying again in the future!

Amazing Stay in Great Town
This is one of the nicest houses in Sayulita. Huge place, large bedrooms with individual decks and bathrooms and great energy. You are two blocks away from the center of town but still far enough away for some quiet. Great view of the ocean. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are traveling into Sayulita.

Wonderful house in a fantastic location
We really enjoyed our week at Casa Sonadora. The location is excellent. A very short walk to town or the beach. Everything is super accessible from the house. We loved walking down to Yah Yah's for coffees or breakfast most mornings. Highly recommend visiting them.
The house was set up very well for our family of mostly adults. Loved the outdoor shower in the second floor master. The pools was a welcome relief for some of the hotter days. Super nice to jump in after walking up from town (it is up a hill). We rented a golf cart for the last couple days and that was fun. Did some exploring on the north side of town, which would be a long walk.
Possibly the nicest feature is the top level palapa. We enjoyed sitting up there for afternoon cocktails or just to watch the surfers. We also had masseuses visit one day up there. The hammock was a great siesta spot.
We didn't cook at all, but did have the cleaning gal cook some freshly caught fish for us one night. A nice treat. However, the kitchen is very well set up for cooking if that's your thing. With so many great options for food in town, we just didn't see the need to cook. Just some afternoon snack food was all we needed.
All in all, a great place to stay.

Beautiful home!
We loved this house! We had 4 adults and 2 teens and everyone had plenty of space to feel comfortable. The pool was lovely and kept very clean and the daily maid service made it feel like a real vacation. We also used a chef for dinner every night that the house manager recommended and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Her food was amazing and made to order!
The location was excellent too. We were a short walk to town and far enough away that the morning noise of roosters and trucks couldn’t be heard at all. Once we went to bed it was peace and quiet. We also loved the top floor space with a beautiful ocean view and a hammock. It was a great experience.

Love Casa Soñadora! The house is perfectly set-up for families. The downstairs master was perfect for us and 2 kids under 2. Upstairs is great for families with older kids who sleep more independently. Town and the beach are a short walk down a paved pathed. House has incredible views, and helpful staff. The area is quiet at night and feels very safe and secure. The daily maid service, who does laundry, and returns it later that day, made vacation life so nice. May was a great time to visit; the weather wasn't too hot or humid and town was mellow. We would definitely stay here again!

Great family trip
Our family of 11 - grandkids, parents and grandparents - enjoyed the excellent location to town and the beach. Only a couple of blocks and even looked forward to the rigorous walk up our street. Plus the living arrangements were spread out so we all had a bit of privacy. A cook was arranged for us, Sirenna, who made evening meals a truly scrumptious and enjoyable event.

Wonderful Get-AWay
This is a lovely house with three major private rooms plus a bunk room and a TV room upstairs with a pull-out sofa. It has great views of the ocean and has a nice pool which is critical in high heat. There also is a great roof- top deck with sitting areas, and the downstairs eating and sitting areas flow into one another and out to the pool.
Some things renters should know. A house cleaner, a pool cleaner and a gardener are almost constant presences during the day. They were fine in their roles, but it all seemed way too intrusive and for our group of 5-7 -- unnecessary. Also, the town has an electrical problem so the water was shut off for an hour or so on several occasions during our week-long stay. Additionally, one of the lights was shorting out and several of the pool-side chaise longues were broken when we arrived. The property manager was very helpful, was planning to get new chairs, fixed one of the lamps and got us a crib for our toddler....but I thought I should give a complete picture. Other ways he helped: he found us a cook and helper for a dinner we hosted; he found us safe drivers to pick us up and return us to Puerto Vallarta and also found us one to take us to San Pancho.
One last thing, there should be instructions saying how to light the oven. It requires picking up the floor of the oven and lighting it with a fire stick or match. Most of the time, however, we enjoyed eating out.

Loved everything about it.
Loved the architecture, the art, the open air feeling, the light, the pool, the landscaping and location. Loved everything about it. If you’re wanting complete silence you probably won’t get it. You can hear the music coming from town at night but for me it wasn’t a problem at all. The design and layout are just beautiful.

What a beautiful location for a vacation!
We just returned from the charming town of Sayulita and our stay at Casa Sonadora. Both are amazing. The house has an incredible view of the ocean and has some wonderful amenities. I asked my 7 year old granddaughter what she loved most about the house and she said, "I love the pool, the tippy top (our name for the open upper level), my bedroom, the treehouse, the kitchen, our space." So pretty much everything! Don't let the walk into town or the beach detour you...you will need the exercise after all the delicious food options. And please ask Ernesto to have a meal or two cooked for you at the house...our family of nine loved it.

Gorgeous home in a stunning location!
The home is beautifully decorated - the owner’s have an amazing design aesthetic. The home and pool are immaculste. The locals were so warm and accomodating - they sincerely make you feel welcome. Please note: the town isn’t a “sleepy fishing village” at night as music (banging drums and not so enjoyable drum and bass dance club) permeates up the hill into the house - even though the house has high-end double pane windows. Granted I am a light sleeper - but the onnoxious music was the only negative to an otherwise amazing visit.

Wonderful house with a great location
We had a great time with a group of firends. Being a short walk from town and the beach was great. It was nice renting a golf cart as the path is a little steep if you have a lot of items. The house has two master need rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, in addition to two other bed rooms. We had nine people and we easily fit. The views from the pool deck and patios
are breathtaking. We had three teenagers and they loved the pool and treehouse. One of the trees just outside the backyard has many iguanas throughout the day. It is entertaining to watch them.
There are lots of good restaurants in town. We went to the O restaurant, which is a nice restaurant right on the ocean.
Some of our group learned to surf at wild mex surf school. It was great the learned the first day.
If you are looking for other things to do we did a few other day trips. We went to the great outdoors zip line tour (action packed day) and snorkeling at the marieta islands.

The property was amazing with its cleanliness, heated pool, comfortable beds and friendly staff.
We went 5 families from 8 month old children to grandparents. We rented both Casa Sonadora and Villa Colina. The family trip was amazing. We loved Sayulita, it's markets and restaurants. The beach was enjoyable but with many children 6 yrs and younger the heated pool was perfect. The pool is accessible and very easy to swim with or attend to the young ones. We loved spending time in Sayulita town site shopping, eating and enjoying the local people. The staff at Casa Sonadora were friendly and efficient. Ernesto the property manager was accessible and responsive to any requests we had.

Wonderful place!
The location is perfect....just a couple blocks from town and a short walk to the quieter swimming beach at Playa de los muertos (yes, you walk though a very pleasant cemetery to get there). The food is great in Sayulia...check out the margaritas at Alas Blancas on the beach at sunset or the tacos at El itacate. The staff was helpful and responsive, the house is very well-equipped.

I’ve never sat down to post a travel review before but our family’s experience at Casa Sonadora was so outstanding that I felt the need to share. Our situation was as follows; I’d booked a family trip to the Four Seasons Hotel in Hawaii for my husband's 50th birthday. A few months before we were supposed to leave however, one of our good friends asked if we'd like to join him and his family on vacation home at Casa Sonadora in Mexico. My husband was thrilled with the idea so we cancelled Hawaii and soon we were off to Mexico.
Before we left on the trip I'd looked at the Casa Sonadora website and while I knew the home beautiful, I was sure it wouldn’t hold a candle to the Four Seasons Hotel in Kona. Wow, was I wrong! To my delight, Casa Sonadora was not only beautiful, it was breathtaking! Each and every room boasted a mesmerizing view of the Pacific Ocean and opened to a gorgeous swimming pool and lush, tropical backyard. The interior furnishings were first class and punctuated with personality and the flare of the local culture. My daughter (age 7) and her friend were in heaven as they spent countless hours playing in the pool and climbing up and down the ladder to the largest, most designer looking treehouse I've ever seen!
Our family’s outstanding experience didn’t stop with our incredible accommodations at Casa Sonadora however, there was more. The icing on the cake was the charming town of Sayulita itself as well as the warm-hearted people who live there. The local cuisine was delicious and ranged from grab-and-go fish tacos to candle-lit restaurants which served up the most mouth-watering, reasonably priced food I’ve ever tasted. This review wouldn’t be complete however, until I mentioned the shopping. Oh, the shopping! There was something for everyone; hand crafted jewelry, eye catching art, quaint clothing stores, etc. The last things I’d like to mention about Sayulita are the pristine beaches where our families spent much of our time. The ocean water was warm and the waves gentle, the perfect place to spend an entire day or to cool off after shopping or walking around town.
Final thoughts; I’ve never had so many moments of perfect happiness in my life and I probably won’t again until we go back. I can’t wait!

Our two families (4 adults, and 5 kids, ages 2-10), stayed at Casa Sonadora for a week. We loved everything about it:
The location was close to everything we wanted: 5 minute walk to the beach, or downtown. The walk is down a steep, landscaped path, great little extra exercise if you are doing it 10 times a day.
The pool had a little kids area, where our 2yo, and a 4yo could jump around without fear. House was very comfortable, with modern kitchen, comfy beds, friendly layout. Rooftop terrace was a added bonus.
We managed to fully relax in a just a week, big accomplishment if you have little kids.

Our extended family (4 kids and 3 couples) spent the most amazing time at Casa Sonadora in Sayulita. After staying in homes in the north end of town for past five years we decided to try the south central area for a change. Are we ever glad we did. Not only was the location superior (the main beach and town center were just a 2 minute walk away) the small neighborhood was also very charming. But the icing on the cake, was staying in Casa Sonadora. This house is simply spectacular. We have traveled throughout Mexico, staying in 4 and 5 star hotels, and in a number of nice homes in Sayulita, but never in anything as nice as Casa Sonadora. The layout of the house and views are awesome and the decor and art stunning. To be honest, this did not feel like a rental property, but more like the beautiful home of an art collector. The house shows so much better than the photos on the website. The pool and grounds were beautiful too. It was hard to decide each day – should we go to the beach or hang out at the pool. The kids also loved the treehouse, but my husband spent more time relaxing there in the hammock than they did. We had great Mexican meals prepared for us by Carmina and got massages on the large palapa covered roof top with incredible ocean and mountain views. The house was immaculate and well appointed with everything we needed. Everyone thought it was the best vacation we have ever had. So we will definitely be coming back. Special thanks to Eric and Carmina who took such good care of us at Sonadora and Kathleen in California who made the whole booking process easy and enjoyable. This is one of the more expensive homes in Sayulita but worth every penny.

Our extended family of 19, ages, 8 to 73, rented this house and Villa Solina, next door, for Christmas week—it was amazing and everyone loved it.
The houses are beautifully laid out with incredible views, have all the desired amenities, and were in a great location for easy town and beach access. Casa Sonadora had plenty of room for all of us to comfortably make meals and hang out. It was great to easily walk between the houses, the beach, and the town—allowed lots of flexibility for our various personalities. We'd thought we'd be doing more day-trips during the week, but were so content being at the house and in town that we only went out once all week.
The logistics were managed very well, first with e-mails from Dennis and Kathleen to secure the rental, then with Eric, the local property manager. Eric made great suggestions on activities, including having a meal made for us at the house, a visit from a massage therapist, a visit to the restaurant where Eric works, and a fabulous boat trip, which was the highlight of the week. It was also very easy to arrange ground transportation with the company Eric recommended.
The only slight hitch we had was that our eldest member wasn't able to comfortably walk the steep hill to the beach and town and we hadn't rented a car. But it's common to use golf cars there, so Eric quickly helped us rent one for the week. Next time we go, we'll plan on making this arrangement in advance, if needed.
I should also mention that, while the house/grounds are beautiful and have all the creature comforts, it was very comfortable there—not overly formal or pretentious in any way. This trip was a bit of a splurge for some of our group, but everyone felt right at home—not sure you could say that about some of the houses in this price range.
All in all, a first-class rental with top-notch service in a beautiful and fun location!

Just spent 4 nights celebrating my friend's marriage to a Mexican girl. This Villa is spacious and very tastefully decorated. The air condition units are quiet and cool the rooms perfectly at night. The showers are powerful and hot water plentiful. The upstairs deck is perfect for aperos whilst the sun is setting. I could go on and on, but if you are with some friends and wish to have a relaxing and luxurious stay then this is your place!
