About this house rental

Spacious 1800 sg. ft. and Newly restored 1870s townhome in the heart of historic Mainstrasse Village, walking distance to area restaurants and downtown Cincinnati. Enjoy all the charm of the Village, the Goose Girl fountain a block away, and Goebel Park a few steps away. Plus all that downtown Cincinnati have to offer! Just off the interstate, and very close to the Wade Bailey Bridge (US 25), which offers a super easy route into downtown Cincy. This is a building built in the 1870s with lots of charm, but also lots of stairs, some of them a bit steep; it may not be a good fit for anyone with mobility issues. There is a restaurant on the first floor of the building with great food.
This 1800 sq. ft. townhome gives you stylish comfort and convenience for a Cincinnati area trip. It's close to downtown, ball parks, museums, theaters, airport, and more. It's well located on the Southbank shuttle route. Uber rides are available too.

There are three bedrooms and three baths. On the main level, there is the living dinning room, kitchen, bedroom with a queen sized bed, a full bath with shower, and a balcony. There are two bedrooms with queen sized beds, and two bathrooms as well as washer/dryer up stairs. . The unit itself is up a flight of stairs from ground level, and two bedrooms are up another flight of (relatively steep, old school) stairs along with two baths. Lots of vacation rentals try to cram 6 people into a tiny unit, that isn't the case here at all. With 1800 sq. feet, there plenty of room and plenty of privacy.

This place was fantastic! Great location and there are plenty of restaurants and stores to walk to. There is a park for kids just across the street. It is on top of a Mexican restaurant and has an ice cream shop just next door. You park in the back or on the street in front and the door is to the side if the Mexican restaurant and is completely safe. There are stairs to get to the apartment and stairs inside to upstairs bedrooms that are a little steep so if you can’t do stairs for a long period of time you could sleep in the downstairs bedroom. It’s old and beautiful, remember to keep all doors closed at all times and you will have no issues with rooms staying cool. We absolutely loved it and if ever in the area again will definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay in Covington. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. As others noted, there are stairs in the entry and to the upper bedrooms, but nothing we didn’t expect. It’s an old, but very cool and charming, older building. The Mainstrasse Village is very walkable with lots of restaurants nearby. We walked to and from a Reds game. It’s not far and it’s really cool walking across the Roebling Suspension Bridge (replica of the Brooklyn Bridge). You get a really nice view of the stadium, especially at night. We spent a day at the zoo as well. One of the prettiest, shady zoos I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend this great place if you’re visiting in the Cincinnati area.

We had a little trouble finding the entrance to the building; there was no number on the door. We encountered stairs leading to the entry door and stairs leading to the apartment. The apartment had a musty, mildew smell. The living room light did not work. To find the second bedroom, we had to go up more stairs; the third bedroom was more stairs. The house looked clean. It was convenient to shops and restaurants. It was just not what we expected.

The location was in a perfect spot and it was easy to get in and out of the neighborhood to go to all the places that we wanted to visit. The beds, pillows, and couches were very comfortable. We only had one significant complaint - it was unbearably hot upstairs. We couldn't get the thermostat downstairs under 80 degrees, and upstairs felt even hotter. I see comments from other reviews that we should understand "historic home" to mean that the temperature cannot really be controlled, which is something I would not have assumed. We found a Walmart open late and bought a fan and left it there for the next visitors and it made upstairs a little more bearable, but still very uncomfortable. Late May felt brutally hot so I can't imagine what it is like in August heat or February cold. We are all youngish and can climb stairs easily, but don't stay here if steep, short stairs are a problem for you. Also, the shower door on the downstairs shower is exceptionally narrow and it wouldn't be usable for a larger person. None of us could figure out how to use the shower in the second bathroom, so we all just used the third one because it was the roomiest. The Keurig was replaced with a standard drip coffee pot so we had to go buy coffee grounds since we couldn't use the k cups we brought, so if you're a coffee drinker bring ground coffee instead. I'm not really complaining, just sharing information I wish I had known ahead of time so you can make sure this place will work for you.
