Summary:
Situated in a secluded wooded area , this property is located only one mile from Whiteface Mountain and the famous AuSable River. The home offers guests 3500 sq ft with a traditional Adirondack style, with many rustic elements incorporated into a contemporary design. These include features such as an open floor plan with 30 foot cathedral ceilings in the living room and in-floor radiant heating, wood burning fireplace, granite counter tops, hardwood flooring, and log railings.
The Space:
The main floor will offer ample space with a living room, dining room, kitchen and a 2 bedrooms. The 2nd floor offers a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. The basement provides a 4th bedroom with a bunk bed and queen bed and an additional full bathroom. Enjoy a full size billiards table, ping pong table along with a Microsoft Xbox for entertainment. The backyard offers a 6 person hot tub along with a fire pit and separate seating area.
Guest Access:
The entire home and the property with 2 exclusions:
1. The mechanical room located in the basement by the Adirondack table. The door is locked and monitored by a security camera from the inside of the mechanical room. This is to ensure that guests do not tamper with the hot water tank, boiler, electric system, and supplies used by the cleaning agency. Any unlawful entry into this room will automatically revoke your stay at the property.
2. There is 1 closet located between the main floor bathroom and the 2nd bedroom that is locked for use by the cleaning agency.
The Neighborhood:
Wilmington is home to the highest peak slope that you can ski on in the North East. It is also the 5th highest mountain in NY State standing at 4,865 ft above sea level. There are over 46 mountains that have an elevation above 4000 ft. for those who have a passion for hiking. The beauty of the Adirondacks offers year round outdoor adventures for those who love to cycle, hike, fish, and ski. The Au Sable National Scenic River stretches 23-miles offering brown, rainbow, and brook trout. There are numerous nearby lakes and rivers (such as Saranac river and Taylor Pond) that offer landlocked salmon, lake trout, splake, bass, pike, walleye, perch, and sunfish. Lake Placid is our neighboring town that is home to the Olympic center and many local restaurants along with 2 lakes that offer motorized and non motorized sports during the summer.
Other Things to Note:
1. Price advertised per night allows up to 12 guests. Each additional guest will be charged at $50 per night per guest.
2. Holiday weeks require minimum of a 6 night stay and Summer weeks require a minimum of a 5 night stay.
3. Any unauthorized parties that may cause damage to the property or interruption to neighbors caused by noise pollution will incur additional fees deducted from the security deposit.
4. Any odor inside the home (including the garage) of smoking cessation products such as nicotine, vape, THC, Marijuana will incur additional fees deducted from the security deposit.
5. A $500 refundable security deposit must be collected within 72 hours of the booking.
6. Do not move any furniture inside the home.
7. Do no remove or take any of the items located inside the home. The home is inspected after each use. A replacement fee and labor charges will be assessed towards missing items and will be deducted from your security deposit.

We absolutely loved our stay in Lake Placid. This house is just outside of Wilmington, some great hiking and swimming!
One comment, knives are NOT sharp ;) though are advertised as so.
But if that's my only complaint, you know it was a fabulous stay!

Once in a lifetime 70th birthday celebration with my family...kids and grandkids. House and property are wonderful. Lots of room for everyone. Lots of fun things to do in the surrounding area. I highly recommend this listing!!

It was a short 15 minute trip to Lake Placid. The house was well maintained with ample room for 10 of us. There were plenty of toiletries, cookware, and other items. I would stay here again.

My wife and I absolutely loved the place. We stayed with our two young children and the property was perfect. Great location close to everything the high-peaks has to offer. Many things to do both inside and close by, including a nice hike very close to the property.

Adult friends joined together at this fabulous ski lodge less than 5 minutes from Whiteface to enjoy the total solar eclipse in April 2024. The house is well stocked with clearly marked features, hot tub in excellent working order, great game room downstairs, and comfortable beds. Would stay again!

We rented this cottage March 10-14 to ski at Whiteface mountain. The cottage is beautiful and large enough to accommodate 10 people. 14 would be a bit crowded. The location couldn’t have been better. You can see the slopes from the cottage and it’s a 4 minutes drive to the ski hill. The property is located in a secluded area in the woods which makes it very charming.
Everything was perfect except the kitchen and floors were not very clean. Upon our arrival we had to clean kitchen cabinets, the fridge, floors, and carpets. At least, bathrooms were clean.
The water in the hot tub was also dirty even if the water was changed before our arrival. With additionally cleaning (by us), we were able to use it in our 3rd night.
Bring your own face clothes, dish clothes and towels for the hot tub. There is a washing machine, but it has a strong musty smell; we didn’t use it.
There is a nice fireplace. Bring wood if you wish to have a fire.
Game room was fun. Bring your own Ping Pong balls; the ones provided are too soft/cheap.
Overall a great place, except don’t expect a 9.8/10 for cleanliness!

Driving up to this picturesque cabin in the woods we knew we made the right choice in renting this home!
Communication with Gary was top notch!
The home was spacious and airy with lovely Adirondack themed decor. Gorgeous views from every window! It had superb mattresses, pillows, linens and blankets!!! All light switches labeled-AMAZING!

Overall we were THRILLED there were a few things that would have made it a five star stay…
Very clean both inside and out but the washing machine had mold in the door and the detergent dispenser. Probably a result of people leaving the door closed (front loader machines need to remain open and be cleaned quite frequently). As a result our clothes smelled a bit moldy but we just rewashed when we got home.
Kitchen was very well stocked except was missing sponges, dish towels, and measuring spoons. Also just one roll of paper towels.
The bathrooms were super clean and spacious with TONS of linens, however only one extra roll of toilet paper.
Incredible fireplace but no firewood.
We bought all the missing items at Hannaford-NO BIG!
One other suggestion that would make it top notch is to add a few hooks or a coat rack outside near the hot tub for towels.
None of these cons are a reason not to rent this place. IT IS AWESOME and we cannot wait to go back. I just thought I would mention because they are super easy fixes that would make this a 5-Star review for sure!

Perfect house and location for 3 families to enjoy skiing at Whiteface and activities in the Adirondacks. The house is spacious, clean and full of amenities. Great communication with the host. Will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in Wilmington! We were looking for a spot tucked in the woods, away from town and this was perfect. We had a few issues once there but the maintenance team was there in minutes when we needed them. Overall, a beautiful spot that we will certainly revisit!

Beautiful property with a lot to offer with an accommodating and responsive property owner. We came here to celebrate our upcoming wedding with our friends and this place gave us exactly what we are looking for. This place has multiple large tables for group meals and an excellent fire pit and hot tub. I would definitely check this place out again on our next trip to the area.

What an amazing experience it was staying at Pine ridge with family and friends. The house had everything you needed and more to keep everyone comfortable and entertained. Beautiful scenery around the entire area with countless outdoor activities to enjoy with everyone. We all enjoyed every moment we were there and will definitely book again if the owner will have us back.

A group of 12 stayed comfortably. Three families with enough space. Kids enjoyed the basement with games. The rental is just as listed and one of the nicest we've found. Communication with owner was great. Easy to travel to Lake Placid but try to do it all in one day. It's very crowded and you need to pay to park. Wilmington and getting to lifts early is important. Two minute drive & I walked there once.

We would highly recommend this rental if you have a large family, (we comfortably slept 11 but there’s plenty of room for more people!) love the outdoors and just want to get away. It’s located within minutes of High Falls Gorge and Flume Falls and within a half an hour to White Face Mountain and downtown Lake Placid. We would most definitely stay again if we ever get the chance to visit this little piece of heaven in upstate New York. Thanks Gary!

The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and we loved the giant dining room table which could easily seat 14 people. We appreciated that all the light switches were labeled and kitchen had staple items like flour, sugar, salt, olive oil etc. We stayed during the summer and we’re surprised there was no air conditioning. With the windows opened at night we were comfortable. We’ll definitely come back in the winter for a ski trip.

We loved everything about our stay here! The house was exactly what we wanted- large enough to house 3 families of 4 (5 oldest kids slept in basement BR, youngest in parent's room), and close to all of the things we wanted to do (Lake Placid/Mirror Lake, Ausable Chasm, Whiteface, to name a few!). We are already planning for next year!

This is not your typical home. The attention to detail is absolutely amazing. The kitchen has everything you need. We had a party of 10. Every couple had there own private space. During the day we took the River trail hike from the backyard to a beautiful waterfall and river that you can swim in. Lake Placid is a short drive with plenty of options for lunch or dinner. In the evening we enjoyed having dinner in the Florida room and marshmallows by the fire pit. Will definitely be back again.
