Waterfall Chalet was new to VRBO (Jan 2021) but has an excellent rental history since we purchased it in 2019 and we then added it to vrbo in 2021.

The house was big enough for both families, and the large property was perfect for them to play and explore. We also had skiing lined up at Jack Frost and the location....2 miles down the road, was really convenient (which is important when you have small kids!). We usually don't like big crowds, especially in this environment, so this was a perfect holiday escape. Owners were super attentive to our questions and needs, so honestly could not have asked for more, other than some more snow! Will definitely stay here again."

Waterfall Chalet sits on 8 private acres in the Poconos just 2 miles from Lake Harmony, Francis E Walter Reservoir and Jack Frost ski mountain. You will enjoy relaxing on our deck overlooking the stream! Watch and hear the stream from the deck. Bring your bicycles as the Lehigh Gorge State Park is close - ride 26 miles from end to end (White Haven to Jim Thorpe). Enjoy a picnic lunch, views of the river and many waterfalls along the way!
The cabin also has a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, a Pool Table and Bar in our finished basement and an outdoor fire pit, a gazebo by the water, lawns for games and a charcoal grill! And best of all - No Neighbors!
Most of the rental houses in the Poconos are located in housing developments controlled by Homeowner Association. Our cabin is NOT in a development! We have no neighbors worried about you, ready to report you. You will feel secluded in the woods, but you are also just a short drive from town for all the things you might need.
Activities:
Lehigh River Gorge State Park - it's perfect for walking, biking, fishing, tubing, and rafting. The park contains 4,548 acres of land and about 30 miles of the Lehigh River. Recreational opportunities include: hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and whitewater boating. About 26 miles of abandoned railroad grade follow the river and are available to hiking and biking and provide access for hunting and fishing. Whitewater rafting is a major attraction of the park. This section of the Lehigh River is Class III whitewater and is popular for rafting, kayaking and canoeing.
Hickory Run State Park: The 15,500-acre Hickory Run State Park, has over 40 miles of hiking trails, three state park natural areas and miles of trout streams. You must visit Boulder Field, a striking boulder-strewn area which formed 15,000 years ago! It is a National Natural Landmark.
We recommend our guests plan a day of swimming at their lake. It has a sand beach and concession areas, bathrooms and bar-b-q areas. It is open from late-May to mid-September.
Fishing:
Francis E Walter Reservoir - stocked for trout fishing, with a variety of other native fish. Motor boats (1 hp max) allowed, also great if you have kayaks and inner tubes!
The Lehigh River has warm-water game fish, trout and panfish. You can walk to the river from the house! Francis E. Walter Dam, just above White Haven, provides boating and angling for trout and warm-water game fish. All local State Parks have lakes & streams for fishing.

We recently rented this house for a friends bachelor party and it was perfect. Lisa and Lance are very responsive hosts and made sure to reach out before the trip to offer guidance on things to do, etc. in the area.
The house is huge with plenty of space for a group of guys to relax. The pool table and fire pit were great. The driveway provides plenty of space for all the cars and the property is secluded enough where we didnt have to worry about any neighbors.
All in all, I would definitely recommend renting this house

Amazing isolated hang out
This place was a fantastic get away for our group of 12 to relax, unwind, play yard games, play guitars, and have a few bonfire trivia nights! The house itself was also perfectly large to accommodate 12 people, especially when our group wanted to split into a few smaller groups to do different activities. I would highly recommend this place for any group looking to find some isolation, while still being close to anything and everything you might want to do!

Memorial Day weekend with family
This property was perfect for a long weekend with all three generations of our family. It had plenty of room, including a big yard for our two dogs to play in. It had peace and quiet which we really needed! And it was close to a state park where we were able to go hiking. Great house and great location. Would definitely stay here again.

Great autumn getaway to capture full foliage
We had a fantastic time (seven 30-year olds got away for a golf/hiking weekend.) It is extremely close to many points of interests in the Poconos and having the convenience of being right off the highway while still having a very private 8 acres made our trip worth-while! The creek runs along the entire property line and has hundreds of feet of walking area. During our stay (late October) we experienced PEAK foliage which was a delight to say the least.
The home has ample space for large groups and the common area is fantastic- 3 large couches with comfortable seating for nine with a great fireplace. The Wifi worked very well for a Poconos rental and Lisa & Lance always returned my inquiries promptly and with kindness.
There are a few things that future renters should be aware of:
- guests are responsible to bring their own linens and towels. This would have been fine if it weren't foisted onto us with only 7 days of preparation. As of when I reserved the VRBO up until today, that policy is not clear. Some of us weren't coming from our homes and were inconvenienced by this late update. They offer a rental through a "linens-rental-subsidiary?" which felt transactional at best. For a significant price for a 2 day rental, I'm expecting not to have to bring or rent linens or make my bed quite frankly.
-there was only one roll of paper towels left. We did our grocery trips the night before and the morning of our activities and were pretty ticked off we had to buy more.
-the grill was nasty and we could not find a grill scrubber so we cooked over foil. We would've really benefited from some additional cooking trays, spatulas, tongs and other general kitchen supplies.
- the TV is unfortunately small for the common room of that size
All in all we had a great time and the above-mentioned inconveniences are only minor detractors. For the price we paid, I'm hoping they rethink their "towel/linens" policy and add some basic kitchen amenities.

Relaxing Stay in the Pocono’s
We truly enjoyed our stay at Waterfall Chalet. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was comfortable and had all that we needed. Sitting around the fire pit in the evenings was very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it to others who want to relax in the Pocono’s.

Family Getaway
This was a weekend to remember. We had such a wonderful time. The only downside was that I wish we had more time. The property was spacious, we enjoyed walking and roasting marshmallows around the fire pit. We spent the day eating outdoors and some relaxed in the hammock. At night we played cards and pool in the game room. The beds were comfortable for a good night’s rest. Lisa, who is the owner was so polite and helpful. This is definitely a must stay and we will certainly return.

Wilderness escape with convenient location
We wanted a quick getaway allowing our family to unplug and unwind. The house is centrally located to a vast selection of outdoor activities while situated on peaceful and scenic property, affording convenience and privacy. We enjoyed ending our day sitting around the fire pit, making s'mores, and sharing stories. The owners are super helpful, quick to respond to questions before and during the stay, and offered detailed suggestions on everything from dining options to hiking trails. Many thanks to Lisa and Lance. We really enjoyed our stay!

Absolutely beautiful
The location was amazing and all of our questions were answered immediately. You really can't beat the views on the property and the amount of activities there are to do in and around the house. We had our mini wedding reception here and everyone commented on how beautiful the property was. Thank you again for everything!
