Accessible only by ferry or water taxi, this is the perfect destination for those seeking seclusion and natural beauty. Just steps from our front door, you'll find yourself on the pristine shores of the Gulf of Mexico. This spacious 1,600+ sq. ft. beach stilt home features a coveted upside-down floor plan. The first floor boasts a king master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and private lanai, a room with two twin beds, and two additional bedrooms each with queen beds. Smart flat screen TVs with Roku in every bedroom ensure entertainment, while USB plugs in all bedroom lamps provide convenience for device charging. A full guest bathroom and washer/dryer closet complete the first floor.
On the second floor, you'll discover the heart of the home with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, dining space, and a convenient 3/4 bathroom. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open onto a spacious lanai offering panoramic ocean views. For an unparalleled 360-degree view of the island, ascend to the crow's nest where beach loungers invite you to relax and soak in the sun.
Outside, on the ground level, a Weber grill and seating area await, perfect for grilling delicious seafood, burgers, brats and more. Located near Salty Approach, the grass airstrip, you can watch private planes and helicopters take off and land throughout the day. A public beach on the west side and a prime sunrise/dolphin viewing beach on the east side offer additional opportunities to explore and enjoy the island's natural beauty.
As members of The Island Club, for an additional fee our guests can have access to exclusive amenities including a members pool/bar area, kayaks, and fat tire bicycles. Should you not choose to add these amenities you will still have access to the public pool, hot tub, and the option to rent a boat slip. The home offers two electric golf carts, ideal for navigating the island's dirt roads.
Linens, bath towels, and a fully equipped kitchen with a reverse osmosis water filtration system ensure a comfortable stay. For your convenience, we provide a detailed vacation checklist, and recommendations for local vendors upon booking.

This house is truly paradise! They thought of everything when they redid this home. What an easy place to visit with our family. The two golf carts are a bonus as they didn’t have any available on the island. Renting this home with the carts made our stay so much easier and enjoyable! The manager is great and met us at the dock, helped us unload and was available for anything we needed. The house has a beautiful setup with the balcony and porch! There is plenty of seating to enjoy dinner, coffee or even lounge in the sun! We even had speakers outside to enjoy music and watch the sunset from the house! The house was perfect and spotless! We will be back again this year! Don’t think twice just book the house! Best family trip we have had!

We’ve stayed on North Captiva a few times and so far this has been one of our favorite properties. The owners were exceptionally helpful and the house had everything we needed and then some! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone considering a visit to the island.

We stayed with Coconut Castaway 2nd and 3rd week of August. I feel that Coconut Castaway has the “IT” dialed in…we were very impressed.
The unit was the CLEANEST Vacation home rental we have ever seen in Florida. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were well appointed with TV’s in the bed rooms, usb chargers, clean furniture updated comfortable linens etc.
There was plenty of stock for the essentials like dishwashing pods/laundry pods/Toilet paper /paper towels etc. The living room area and dining area were large and the furniture and decor was nicely done and very CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and comfortable.
The kitchen appliances are all brand new it appears and very nice.! The kitchen was spotless. The kitchen had everything we needed, nice cookware, knives and dishes and lots of different spices etc. The grill is a Webber and it was clean, heated quickly and worked great.
The home is beautiful and the location is awesome. We watched the sunset most nights from the top deck and other nights we walked the short distance (3 houses away) to the beach for sunset then jumped into the new awesome Hot Tub.
Tortuga is the owner’s property manager and they were also excellent. They were on top of communications from the start. They picked us up on time at the dock and gave us a quick tour of the island on our way to the unit.
There was a very small issue with the provided golf cart and Tortuga was very responsive and handled the issue quickly to our satisfaction.
We used Tortuga via “Dumpling” for the groceries and the shopper was on top of things; very good communication (offering alternatives)and excellent service overall. Our groceries were stocked and ready for us when we arrived. A+ for Tortuga a nice perk for Coconut Castaway guests!!!
The Island club membership was a big plus also, There were two pools and good service from the Bar area. We used the free bicycles and free kayaks etc. All of our interactions with staff at the club were with out instance.
I had some dialogue with the Coconut ownership along the way to booking etc and they were also very responsive and very nice to speak to as well. They also reached out and followed up with us post visit and again when releasing the security deposit etc.! If you are wrestling with which unit to book, you will not be disappointed here. I really cannot say enough how nice it was there, so I will simply say we’d definitely stay there again without hesitation. A++ for Coconut!!

Well Outfitted Lovely Beach House Near Sunsets on the Beach
We had an excellent stay at Coconut Castaway on North Captiva. The house was well taken care of. Comfortable updated furniture good for a big family and big family dinners. Kitchen had most of the things we needed to cook all our meals during our stay. The house was set up with soap and shampoos in the bathroom, kitchen soap and dishwasher soap, dishtowels, lots of bath towels and nice beach towels.these things were very helpful and next time I don't have to haul that stuff with. Beds were very comfortable. There were umbrellas and beach chairs in good condition to use on the beach. One well taken care of gold cart was part of rental. It was good we rented a second golf cart as we had 6 people going two or more directions. Thanks for a great stay. we will be back!!!

Excellent property well maintained and equipped. Owners were great and property management were great too. Beautiful views of the the gulf right from the house. We totally enjoyed the stay and is worth the cost. We totally recommend Coconut Castaway!

AMAZING PLACE!!!!
What a fantastic place to stay!!! The island is beautiful. The home is located in a perfect spot just steps away from the ocean. The owners have provided everything from beach chairs and umbrellas to games and extra bedding for the cooler nights. The management company was SO attentive to any request or additional item needed. Highly impressed with them!!!! We arrived with 8 adults and had plenty of room for everyone to gather together or sprawl out in smaller areas on the property. This trip was a huge success and we will definitely be back!

Wonderful property
Just Amazing!!!! Clean and perfect location! We had 8 adults and plenty of room. Having the hot tub at the house was perfect. Tortuga did an exceptional job! Checking in and out was so easy. This was our first time on the island and we were a little uneasy. They were so attentive and quick to respond to every request. The location of this property does not disappoint. Steps to the ocean. The views were more than we expected. We will be back for SURE!!!! Thank you for sharing your property!

Perfection!
Coconut Castaway is absolutely wonderful! From the very first step of booking, communication leading up to our stay, to having the home fully stocked with groceries when we arrived, a tour of the island when we arrived (and they accommodated our travel/flight delays with a very early morning ferry pickup), and a beautifully updated beach home that was furnished with everything you could ever want and need. The home was clean, extremely comfortable, well laid out, and beautifully furnished. The large screened in lanai with large table was a wonderful addition - we spent our evenings on the lanai (and upper level crows nest) watching the sunset, having dinner, playing games and cards, and spending time together as a family. The home is also located close to the grass airstrip and we loved watching the small planes and helicopters take off and land-it was such a fun experience!
We loved spending our days outside at the beach (only a few short steps away from the home) and at the pool; the home is stocked with plenty of beach towels, chairs, a small cooler, etc that made our time at the beach so much more comfortable. The home is also a part of the North Captiva Island Club where we had easy and super convenient access two 2 large pools, beach cruiser and fat tire bikes, kayaks, beach/pool bar and grill. and so much more!!
The property management company, Tortuga Properties, also ensured our stay was wonderful. From the home check-in and island tour, stocking us with groceries, checking in to ensure that we had everything we needed, inviting us to participate in the island golf cart parade, and a seamless checkout process.
I couldn't recommend this property, the homeowners, and management company more!! Everyone helped make it a wonderful family vacation!!

Wonderful house and beaches!
We had a wonderful stay! We had never been to North Cap before and loved the experience! We loved that the landscaping felt tropical and exotic! My husband and I brought my in-laws and 4 boys and the house was perfect for the 8 of us! A very short walk to the beach or take a golf cart drive to another. The sunrises from the roof and the sunsets from the beach where amazing! The seashells were numerous and two of my kids caught fish with their hands from the ocean. We loved riding around in the golf cart and seeing the homes and beaches. You literally do not need much....a swimsuit and cover....maybe an outfit for dinner one night. Two of the four restaurants require reservations beforehand. If we return, we would schedule a fishing charter as it looks like a wonderful place to fish and do some kayaking. Do bring bug spray! If you want a quiet, laid back trip...this is it!

Bill and Trisha are fantastic hosts - took care of the little things - to help locate cork screw; internet stuff; running interference on the bumps in the road
The house is outstanding - we spent most of our time on the upstairs screened in porch off the main room.
Lush and beautifully landscaped lot - The Island was a opportunity to experience Florida as it was many years ago.
Vacation at the house and Island had many treasured memories and experiences.

Slice of Paradise
Coconut Castaway was the perfect place to spend a much needed vacation. The house was clean and very well equipped; kitchen utensils were some of the best we’ve seen at a home rental, which was great for us as we love to cook! Beach towels ✔️ Beach chairs ✔️ What more is needed on this beautiful island! Although we did not spend a ton of time indoors, when we did we were amazed at how well the technology worked! Rokus ensured our littles could watch their favorite shows and movies before bed, the Nest thermostats were a breeze to use and kept us comfortable, and the internet worked flawlessly! The bedrooms and bathrooms were again, clean and so inviting with bright and airy decorating design. Most loved by us was the ability to open the large glass doors to expand the living room into the large screened in porch, letting in the ocean breezes. We spent 5 nights at Coconut Castaway and could have stayed another 5 due to the home’s comfortable environment and its convenience to the beach (a short 2 block walk)! The golf cart was our very own exploration vehicle, and explore we did! The island is a magical place, from its sandy (and shell filled) beaches to the mangroves to the nature preserve at the southern end of the island, there’s plenty to explore. If you want to start your day watching the sunrise from Coconut Castaway’s crows nest, spend the day soaking up the sun and sand, take a cool and comfortable afternoon nap in a clean and relaxing bed, and then end the day watching the sunset from the nearby beach then this is the home for you. Counting down the days until we can return!

Perfect for Family Spring Break
We enjoyed a wonderful week at Coconut Castaway. The property was sparkling clean, furnished and decorated in a relaxed beachy theme which made us feel right at home. We especially loved the fully screened in patio off the main living area. The weather was superb, and we enjoyed the gulf breezes blowing through the home and gorgeous sunsets without the concern of biting bugs. Having 4 bedrooms gave us all our own space to chill and unwind. This is truly a little slice of paradise! Thank you for a relaxing week, and we will certainly be back.

Perfect beach house
My wife and I wanted a casual but well appointed house for our break from the Northeast winter and Coconut Castaway was perfect. Newly renovated, well stocked, and seconds from a world-class beach. The owners and property managers were very attentive and we felt well cared for. My wife and I worked for half our two-week stay and we had plenty of bandwidth for simultaneous video calls. Highly recommend.

Check-in was seamless. My brother rented a house nearby the same week and had a terrible time checking in! It was easy and when I emailed questions I received replies so fast.
If you're debating, rent this one! I've seen a lot of houses on the island and this is a great house, location, owner, and management.

A wonderful getaway!
We had a wonderful time on North Captiva Island while staying at Coconut Castaway. We were there for a 7 night stay. The house is very well appointed and is a short 2 minute walk to the beach. The screened in porch was perfect for meals and general socializing. The roof deck had a great view of the ocean and sunsets. Bedrooms were very nicely done and the property was perfectly clean. The kitchen has almost everything you could want to cook full meals! While we were there the golf cart for the house at 2 flat tires (which were fixed rather quickly) and the property manager was unable to secure a second golf cart, but it wasn't a problem as the island is very walkable and it was good to get some exercise! The property manager was quite responsive while we were there and was helpful in getting acquainted with the house, the island, and transportation on arrival and departure. Of note, the North Captiva Island Club has kayaks that were easy to use, but the bikes were mostly unusable so if biking is desired I would recommend renting one from Boats N' Fun or bringing your own. Bill and Trisha (owners) were helpful in answering questions prior to arriving at their lovely home.. Overall, we had a fabulous time and would return again in the future!

Beautiful property & great location!
This was our first time to the island, and we could not have asked for a better location. The house was beautiful, and very clean. The view of the ocean from the rooftop deck was gorgeous! It was a quick 2 minute walk to the beach where you could sit and watch the amazing sunset in the evening, and a quick golf cart ride to the other side of the island to watch the sunrise in the morning. My family made many great memories on our trip, and we would definitely come back again to stay here!
