About this cottage rental

The WestSide Cottage (Larimer Co. STR Lic #21-ZONE3177) has a lovely, rural feeling situated on a couple acres surrounded by old trees and small horse properties, yet just a short walk to City Park 9 Golf Course, Sheldon Lake and the City Park pool. Close to Old Town, breweries, The Discovery Center and the new CSU Canvas stadium, the Poudre Canyon. The Cottage is a quaint and cozy 3 bedroom farmhouse.

We continue to work on out backyard space incorporating unique yard art, special planting areas and interesting vignettes.

The kitchen is well equipped for hosting a family dinner or friends for the game. You can eat in every night every night if you like with plenty of room to cook up family favorites or try new recipes together. The coffee bar features flavored syrups, regular and decaf coffees, 10 kinds of tea and cocoa and natural Stevie sweeteners. Wake up and brew up some morning joe. We offer premium coffees, or relax on the living room chaise with a soothing cup of herbal tea.

Frozen beer glasses await your arrival and coffee for the morning too.

Lots more outdoor space awaits you on our large front porch. The front yard is fenced offering a great space for your dog to play and get exercise.

Our beds get RAVE reviews. They are the comfiest. Our bedding is all cotton, all the time. We simply won't compromise. Not only do we believe cotton is the most comfortable, it cleans up the best, and without doubt, it helps us keep plastic out of our oceans.

You will check yourself in with the digital keypad on the back door adjoining the parking area. We are close by and available should you need a thing, otherwise, you probably won't see us.

We happily accept PET GUESTS. The cost is $75. per pet, per stay.

Fort Collins is located in beautiful northern Colorado at the mouth of the Wild and Scenic Poudre Canyon as well as access to Colorado Hwy 34 to Rocky Mountain National Park. If you haven't rambled the Wild and Scenic Poudre Canyon (national designation), you are missing some of the most beautiful country in the state.

Northern Colorado has abundant hiking, biking, fishing, rafting, kayaking, camping and scenery. Spring Creek, Trail, Cathy Fromme Natural Space, Poudre River Trail, BobCat Ridge Open Space, Devil's Backbone Nature Trail, Horsetooth Mountain Recreation Area and Reservoir, just above Fort Collins offers all varieties of water sports.

Fort Collins brews 70% of the state's micro brew beer including nationally renown New Belgium and O'Dell. Additionally, we have several spirit distillers such as Copper Muse and Spring 44 in the area.

We say the WestSide Cottage is "kinda country, right in town" so you may see wildlife on property...deer, fox, raccoon, bobcat, rabbit. Enjoy!

PLEASE, if you require central air conditioning, do not book our property.
We have a free-standing unit in the living room and large fans in every room. This keeps the house pretty cool however, this is not the same as central AC and you will not be able to turn it down to 62 degrees.
Since it gets very cool at night here in Colorado, windows are often opened at night even with central AC. We realize our situation does not meet everyone's needs however and want to be very clear about the situation. We would rather miss your booking than have unhappy guests.

Everything we needed for our week stay. A fenced yard for the pups, ample bedroom and storage space, a large table in the kitchen for working, and a perfect location. We had the RMNP about 1 hour to Estes, mtn bike trails around a mile away, road bike paths really close, and Old Town just a few miles away. Near an intersection that makes it easy to get to Horsetooth, Old Town, Laporte, etc. seemed to be a quiet area. Just a relaxing space. I’d stay again for sure.

The manager of this property was great and communicated quickly and clearly. The bedrooms and bathroom are very cute. The kitchen is well-appointed for cooking. The house has real potential and I liked all the little decorative touches. Unfortunately the house was not clean and we were, overall disappointed by this rental. The rental smelled like a campfire due to the AC pulling air in through the fireplace which needed to be cleaned. The baseboards were dirty and the corners had cobwebs. There was a line of urine/toilet splash on the outer, cloth shower curtain when we arrived. The couch was basically thin cloth over springs and the white bed squeaked so much it was not useable. The kitchen table had a twin bed sheet as a table cloth and was so beat up it could not be used without the sheet. The fenced yard was very nice and a great place to eat breakfast while looking at the foothills, but there is a yard of abandoned cars behind this place, which distracts from the property. I wish we could post photos because I have them. I would not stay here again. It got the job done, but is far less nice than the other Fort Collins VRBOs that I have stayed in.

The house was cute and charming. The kitchen was well appointed with pretty much appliance or cooking gadget you could ask for. The cold glasses in the freezer were a nice touch. The living room was a comfortable space to hang out. There was a nice selection of puzzles and games available (which we added to when we left). The beds and pillows were the perfect amount of squishy and supportive. That said, it appears I didn't read the listing closely enough when we booked the property. We stayed in Fort Collins during a heat wave and were looking forward to the advertised AC to keep us comfortable. There was a portable AC unit in the living room but the exhaust tube had tears in it so it just pumped hot air into the room. We turned it off the night we checked in. Thankfully there were a bunch of fans, but they only did so much. I don't know that it's fair to say that the property has AC when it 1) didn't work and 2) isn't central air. It might be worth moving that tidbit up a bit in the listing going forward. While our stay could have been a little more comfortable temperature-wise, the house was exactly what we needed while we were in town for a wedding. My friends and I had a lovely time in Fort Collins, and a huge thank you to Julia for being such a kind hostess during our trip.

My husband and I stayed with our 1 year old lab. Our daughter, who is in Grad school was able to come and visit with a friend. Great place to sit around the fire pit and play music together. The second night it rained and we gathered in the living room. It was wonderful to have a fenced in yard for the dog and to be able to play together! The home is old, but has charm. It is very clean and nicely presented! Everything you could possibly need was available in the kitchen and bathroom. We would come back for sure!
