EXCELLENT STAY

Hotel muito bom! Todo o staff foi super atencioso. O pequeno almoço é muito completo. O quarto é super confortável, limpo e espaçoso.

We would not return - go to Henann instead.

The concept of the hotel is 5* unfortunately the hotel itself doesn't live upto that standard.

Where to start.. Upon check-in we was given a room which the front door was basically in the reception lobby - totally ridiculous. We changed rooms which was fine. Lights barely work, takes about 20x for them to eventually turn on / or off. TV didn't want to switch on (though powered) Toilet was blocked when we got in the room - had to call maintenance. At breakfast we was asked if we wanted tea / coffee, we asked for a latte (pretty basic for any hotel) we was told we had to pay extra for a latte coffee as this isn't inc with breakfast. I asked for juice instead (pineapple or orange) I was told this is also extra as not inc with breakfast. Never in my 13 years of travelling around Asia have I been asked to pay extra for juice, or a coffee with a breakfast in a 5* resort that's in excess of £100 a night, its pretty basic with even rooms at £30 that inc breakfast.. Pool is small for the size of the resort, and only a few beds have side tables. Most are in the water on the edge of the pool which are really pointless, you can't put your belongings anywhere nor a drink ect. The beds are the most uncomfortable we've experienced they should have them matress covers on them like every other hotel with similar beds. They give a welcome drink voucher and make it out to be a drink of your choice at the pool bar (so not your usual drink on arrival) but the reality is its a cucumber water that's the size of a mouthful (why not just give this at check-in then???) Overall the concept of the hotel is great, unfortunately the reality is more of a 3/4* and not 5* we checked out and went to Henann which is cheaper and more of a 5* resort hotel. Expect to pay P200 each way to the main parts of Alona and a good 15 minutes drive. We would not return.

Excellent service, very clean, really nice private property

I personally think that the staff is the best asset of this resort— they are very kind and courteous. the location is perfect and the facilities are clean and new/well maintained.

The beach needs more cleaning as washed out seaweeds heavily pile on the shore.

Best of the best in Panglao, this is one amazing hotel for the money you're paying. Must-try!!!

This was our first trip and stay here, and I guarantee it will not be the last. It has now become one of the very best hotel locations in Panglao, and Bohol for us. It was exceptional and truly bust our pre-conceptions wide open. So much so, we extended our stay by one more night, yes it was truly that good. Best-of-the-best. Food was superb, the staff just wonderful, the best beach and sea, excursions to die for, and so on. It's up there ad the best I have ever stayed at anywhere on the planet, let alone Bohol. Amazing!

I find it really hard to gripe, but the only feedback I'd give is more shaded areas at the pool PLEASE, including seating areas. When that sun is high it becomes quite unbearable with no cover. Even the staff in the bar hide in the shade until someone needs serving.

My stay was just okay.

The breakfast is just okay..there’s not much selections on the tables, and the location is great. Also, why do I pay for my mango juice during my free breakfast? Other resorts is free.

The location at that time of the year or months, which I didn’t know is so windy..that your napkins and other stuff is blown away.

Great staff, people are so welcoming and very kind. Definitely it is a good choice to stay in Bohol.

They somehow scammed us regarding airport transfer. When we arrived in Bohol, they charged us 1500 pesos to get to Hotel and when we were returning they said it only costs 800 Pesos for the same van.

Exceptional

Very nice and relaxing accommodation, yummy buffet breakfast, very courteous staff, nice pool, amazing view. My family had a great time here. My son loved the pool, we even had day and night swimming.

The beach is not ideal for swimming.

Superb

Breakfast is ok. Breakfast buffet in Phillipino hotels are usually simple. Modala already exceeds most hotels. Location is convenient. 10 mins motorcycle ride to Alona Beach. Many restaurants within and around. Hotel room is beyond 4-star standard. Clean and spacious.

Staff English proficiency can be improved but it's totally understandable as they are locals from the island.

Relaxing and comfortable stay, drives stress away.

The beach is the most stunning part of this property. The strip mall right beside the hotel gives so much convenience. The restaurants offered good food at fair price. For quick fixes there’s 7/11. The hotel is also new and very clean. Pool area is not as big but the view is jaw-dropping. Will book again definitely.

the gym smells moldy and has too much equipment for such a small space. if you lose your room key card you will be charged $10 which they did not advise us about on check in. they had us go to the port 2 hours early for our ferry which is excessive. 1-1.5 hrs before is more than enough. you are only allowed 1 towel with towel card no exceptions made.

We enjoyed our stay. We had an amazing experience here in Modala.

I love the newly built facility. The staff are super respectful and friendly. Area is nice and there is a strip mall beside the hotel so you can pretty much get everything you need within walking distance including a 7-eleven. The area is safe because there is a lot of security around the property and the neighborhood is safe. There are water activities at the beach area like kayak and SUP. The kiddie pool is also nice and shaded for the little ones. The pool bar is the winner for us adults. Other activities like koi fish feeding for kids and adults is also available at the lobby.

Nothing to dislike during our stay. Everything was exceptional.

A great luxury experience but not 5 star

They have the best beach I've ever seen: white sandy, clean, shallow and warm water full of starfish Staff are tactful, specially in the kitchen. They offer a good menu. I had my best steak over there.

Even though I was in their VIP room and: 1. Wifi was not fast. 2. It didn't have hot water (only warm water). Jacuzzi and showers on the pool offer only cold water. 3. To turn on /off all the lights in the room, I need to press +8 buttons. Annoying.
