About this house rental
“Lythgoe” to the Lake house is a beautiful lakefront property directly on Island Park Reservoir. Summer 2023 is now open for reservations! Check out our new amenities: paddle boards and a hot tub (available for a nightly fee).
Enjoy the lake in the summer and the snow in the winter. We are well set up for multiple guests with a large kitchen including 2 dishwashers, 2 sinks, double oven, 2 fridge freezers and an oversized cooktop. You will also enjoy 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2 additional sleeping loft spaces, large daylight walk out basement with an additional kitchen. This lodge has a home theater, fireplace, wifi, BBQ grill, fire pit, outdoor and indoor games, and a private boat dock!
Large picture windows on all floors have beautiful scenic views of the lake and surrounding areas. A large covered back deck serves as a great extension of the dining room with plenty of room for large group eating and room for guests to sit and enjoy fresh mountain air. Extra tables and chairs are available for your use at meal time. A fire pit with seating is available in the back yard. Please bring your own fire wood. If you forget, there are several places in Island Park where you can purchase some. Our private dock is perfect for guests of all ages to swim and play in the water. Feel free to bring your own boat and water toys and enjoy the fun and sun!
The main floor has a kitchen, dining room, living room with a large propane fireplace, master bedroom suite with jetted tub and large walk in shower, additional bedroom, full bathroom, large laundry room with laundry machines. The master suite has a flatscreen TV, king bed and a private entrance to the deck. The upper bunk lofts have 14 twin beds and a full bath. The basement has 5 bedrooms, theater room, a full kitchen, large family room and 2 full bathrooms. Each bedroom has a queen or king bed with 2 of them having additional twin bunk beds.
Bring family and friends to our “Lythgoe” -to- the- Lake house and enjoy our home and all the outdoor and indoor fun. Our lake house is approximately 35 minutes from the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. horseback riding, snowmobiling, four-wheeler trails, wildlife watching, fishing, boating and water sports are all within a short distance.

This place has it all, from excellent location to premium views. Property has everything you need for a memorable getaway. Sleeps very large groups comfortably. Hosts are extremely accommodating. They also check to make sure you’re not having any issue's. Will definitely stay again.

Such a beautiful, comfortable stay. Grandkids aged 10mos to 13 loved it! Very sweet, attentive host checked in to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Very quick to respond to questions.
As a group of 22, we brought too much stuff as we had no idea how well this house was equipped.
Kids and parents LOVED being on the lake, so much so that it wad hard to get the kids excited about another day at Yellowstone. They just wanted to be in the kayaks, on the SUPs, fishing or in the Theater room. Best VRBO yet! All 22 of us highly recommend!

We had a great time at Lythgoe! Plenty of space to relax and play games. Loved having the dock right off the back to launch kayaks and wave runners. Communication with the owner was fantastic and we can't wait to go back!

We had a reunion with 30 people over the 4th of July. The house was perfect for our group. The 2 bunk rooms worked perfectly for most of the kids. It was nice that some of the rooms had a queen and a bunk or twin so that some kids could stay in their parents room if that made them more comfortable. There was a great amount of fridge space with 3 fridges. We never left the property and there was plenty to keep us busy. We had a plumbing issue during our stay and the owner drove 3 hours each way to take care of it for us. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

This home is absolutely beautiful! We came together for a family reunion and had 24 people staying in this home. Not once did it feel crowded, and there was always plenty to do for kids of all ages. Kari and Russ were so friendly, easy to communicate with made sure we had a great experience. Beautiful home, views and memories. We will be back!

We stayed here with a group of about 30 and had such a fun stay and had enough room for everyone! It was not quite as clean as we hoped when we arrived but the host was amazing and so responsive and they corrected the matter so quickly! I would note the 9th bedroom is more like a loft and does not have an actual door but curtains to “close off” the area from the rest of the home, we were a little surprised by that when we arrived. Would stay here again and we had such a fun time and made so many memories!

This property is an excellent property for our family event. We had four families, 13 kids raging in ages from one to 16. The location on the lake is excellent. The lawns provide a great playground and the home of amenities are wonderful. The kitchen is well appointed and we used it to cook a lot of meals. The double dishwashers are a lifesaver. The two fridges allowed us to store all of our food. We rented a boat and was able to use the dock at the property Which was very convenient. I would highly recommend this property And we will book it again

Great home for our family of 23. Very clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the large, well equipped kitchen that was open to the eating and gathering area with a beautiful view of the lake. The large grassy area in the back yard was perfect for games and led right down to the dock.

Getting our entire family together once a year takes a lot of effort. But being all together is very important to us and so we work hard to make it happen and then play hard - strengthening relationships and creating memories to last a lifetime. We have made multiple trips to Island Park, Bear Lake, Pineview, St. George, Park City, Hawaii, California - and this years stay at "Lythgoe to the Lake" has been hands down the best ever! From the moment we entered the gated community we felt confidence with our decision and safety in our environment. Throughout the whole process the owner was friendly, responsive and very helpful. The house was modern, spacious, clean and sat right on the lake shore with it's own private dock for our boats. There was plenty of room for us to all gather together as well as smaller areas for the children to play. BOTH kitchens were well equipped with everything we needed and the 3 total fridges were greatly appreciated. Bedrooms on 3 levels allowed the married kids and grandkids to be separate from each other and yet the gathering spaces were large enough for the whole group of 30 of us. The oversized back deck was perfect, allowing us to watch the kids play and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the lake. Family - good food - fun and games.

This home on the lake was perfect for our large family! We had other activities, but the cabin property was so awesome all the kids just wanted to play on the lake. There was plenty of room for smaller groups to enjoy conversation or play on their own. I would definitely recommend staying here to friends and family!

We loved our stay at Lythgoe! We have a very large family and somehow we never felt like we were crowded here. Between the bedrooms, indoor gathering areas, outdoor gathering areas and the lake we had more than enough space. The kitchen was perfect, the large pantry and 3 fridges/freezers provided lots of space and the kitchen had all of the appliances and tools we needed. The grassy area out back provided plenty of space for games and activities. The private dock made playing in the lake fun and safe for everyone. Everyone in our family had nothing but great things to say about the property, thank you!

We had five different families stay over the holiday weekend with 13 kids ranging from newborn to 15. The house was as advertised and was fantastic. The property was perfect for our family reunion. The 2 main fridges held all our food, the kitchen was large enough for a buffet, there were extra tables and chairs in the storage room to accommodate a large crowd, and plenty of couch space. The property is big with breathtaking views and lots of yard space to place. The only critique I would have would be that it felt weird to have a camera above the hot tub as it doesn't lend to a relaxing atmosphere, but I understand if the owner is afraid of crazy behavior.

We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the number of bedrooms and beds for our group. The twin beds in the loft and in some of the rooms made it so nice for everyone to have their own bed. Kitchen was well stocked. Lawn was a fun place to hang out and play games. Loved the access to the lake. Kari was very responsive and accommodating.

Such a good family house
We had a group of 15 people stay at the house for a long weekend and it was easily the most comfortable stay we’ve had in the 9 years we’ve been going to island park. The house and views are beautiful. We had so much room (with plenty of beds left empty) and will definitely be staying again. We’ll have a bigger group next time and I feel confidently it will be just as comfortable the second time around.

This property was all that it is listed as: beautiful location on the lakefront, the big lawn area was perfect for group activities, nice fire pit and large deck with seating, plenty of space for a big group. The kitchen was lacking nothing and the downstairs living space was great. The upstairs sleeping areas were great for big groups of kids-plenty of beds and space to spread out.
The owners were so easy to work with and made it an easy process from check in to check out.
HIghly reccommend this property for anyone with a big group coming to the Island Park area.
