About this house rental
Smile and Wave. Our second row beach home has been newly remodeled and we can't wait to share this family friendly home with you! We are located on the east side of Ocean Isle Beach about 1 mile from the center of town. Our home is steps away from the beach access so its very easy to run back and forth to the home for anything you may have forgotten!
Our reverse floor plan optimizes ocean views in the space that you will be spending most of your time. The open family room, dining room, and kitchen offer breathtaking views of the ocean. With 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, Smile and Wave sleeps up to 14 people so we have plenty of room for you, your family, and your friends. There are 2 master bedrooms (one on the top floor and one on the first floor) each offering King beds and their own bath. The 3 remaining bedrooms are all on first floor along with two additional bathrooms. Each level boasts a large deck spanning the width of the home for relaxing or dining . All bedrooms have TVs with Roku devices so you can sign in to any streaming service that you like. There is a large, private outdoor shower to rinse off in after a day at the beach!
For families with small children, our home is stocked with a baby gate, pack and play, booster seat, high chair, umbrella stroller, and a variety of beach toys.
We added an EV charger in 2022 that is available to our guests for an additional fee.

This is a beautiful home and was very clean! It was well stocked with everything you need. The owners responded immediately with any questions we had. They also had a book in the home with instructions for everything. We have already rented this home for next year.

Such a delightful place to stay and spend time with our family. You could not have better location from the house. The only downside was the beach because we were unaware that you can only have umbrella instead, no tent allowed. Your place was very accommodating for our large family. Couldn’t ask for a nicer home to stay.

The house was perfect for our family of 9 people (7 adults/2 kids). House was exceptionally clean and the location to the beach was great. Beds and pillows were very comfortable which is not always the case with beach rentals. It is apparent the owners take great pride in maintaining their property and in providing a hassle free experience to their guests. Luke was very responsive and helpful. Our best beach rental experience in many years. Highly recommend Smile and Wave.

Super clean and attactively decorated. Great communication from hosts and Luke was always fast to respond to a question. Hands down the best stocked kitchen of any rental we have been in! Lots of serving bowls, pots and pans, dishes and glasses. Huge amount of countertop space in the kitchen. Great supply of towels, nice TVs and easy to use. Great furniture and balcony spaces. Fantastic view and super close beach access. You can easily fit 6 good sized vehicles in the parking areas. Great size kitchen table and family room. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

The house is just as advertised. Perfect proximity to the beach. So helpful to have a full array of Beach supplies with the house. The host was a pleasure to communicate with. Five stars, would recommend.

Seriously, there isn't anything bad to share about our stay! The house was wonderful and immaculate, it was sooooooooooo close to beach access, and it was just a very comfortable place for us to stay. Communication with the owner was fantastic from prior to arriving through after our departure. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future!

This house was perfect for our family. They had beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers an umbrella already there, ready to grab and walk across the street to the beach! Kitchen had everything needed to cook! Decor was beautiful! Everything was very clean. We spent a lot of time out on the front balconies watching the ocean and enjoying the cool breeze! Luke kept in contact with us the whole time making sure everything was great! I would highly recommend staying here! Our family had a wonderful time!

We loved this house for its proximity to the beach, spacious living area, and big porches. We ate most of our meals on the upper porch and enjoyed the rocking chairs and couch for relaxing outdoors. The lower porch was a nice getaway with a hammock. The dining room table was big enough to accommodate our group of ten for meals and games and the well designed and comfortable living area had more seating than most beach houses.
The owner was available and responsive to our questions. It was a great beach house for our family.

We had a wonderful stay at Smile and Wave located 2nd row Ocean Isle Beach. Sitting on the front porch looking at the ocean with nice breezes in the evenings was pure bliss. It’s a well appointed home that fit our family of 12. Owners have truly tried to think of anything you would need. It was a true luxury to have all the beds made upon check in. The only issue we had was one morning the upstairs A/C quit working. Owner was contacted and had someone there in less than 2 hours. Owner stayed in contact to make sure everything was taken care of. Beach access very close, just 2 houses away! Would highly recommend staying at this lovely home!

Perfect beach week!
We had a wonderful week in OIB! We were so pleased with the house. From the well stocked kitchen to the rocking chairs on the porch to the beach access across the street…it was perfect! Luke is super about communicating during the week. We are ready to book next summer!

Wonderful home and location
Our family had a great time on OIB staying in this well stocked home. The owners were wonderful hosts, checking to see if there was anything we needed midweek. We were steps from the beach access which was perfect for our group who could easily come and go. Well stocked, fresh and clean. Reccommend!

Family Vacation 2021
This is such a great house for our family size and age groups: 6 year old twin boys + parents, 14 year old granddaughter + parents, and grandparents. Location is a really short walk to the beach (Leland) and that made for easy walks carrying buckets & tools for sandcastles and sea turtle sculptures that our kids build.
The kitchen is well outfitted with everything needed to prepare meals. Because we are a dine-in family when we vacation with children, this is important. And the dining area is perfect seating for our meals. Plus the picnic-type table on the porch for breakfast and dinner gets lots of use if weather permits. In fact, the porch, with it's size and generous seating is the place we love for many hours of reading and/or just quiet time.
The living area adjoining the dining and kitchen is large enough to accommodate our twin's and teenager's early morning and late afternoon Lego building and games. The large screen TV in LR is a plus for our sports fans.
Thank you Sarah and Luke for being super communicative and welcoming. Your home is a treasure. One week is not enough!

The beach house was incredible, and Luke was an amazing host. Luke made sure that everything you could think of was set up perfectly for our arrival. The inside of the house was spotless when we arrived, there were towels placed out for us in each bedroom, and Luke even left a snack basket out for us. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms to fit our larger group, and the kitchen and grill they have accommodated all of our cooking needs when we didn't go out to eat. The house is right next to the public access entrance to the beach, there were plenty of beach chairs in the storage room for all of us, and there is also an outdoor shower at the house (with warm water), so you don't have to worry about tracking sand inside. The house was as perfect as it could be, and you couldn't ask for a more hospitable host in Luke!
