It was absolutely fantastic and would highly recommend this accommodation.

The space was very clean and staff were very friendly. This gem of a place is perfectly positioned just outside of the hustle and bustle. The tranquil setting with the ravine running is perfect for a quiet moment away from the busyness of day to day life.

Was very peaceful, bonded with family.

The TV was in bedroom 1 would be nice if it was in lounge for everyone to enjoy... There is a wooden deck close to waterfall that is now been closed off everytime I would go before I would sit an meditate in morning if they could fix the wooden deck so we could make use of it on our next stay.

Over the moon at River Cittage

Absolutely loves the setting and the ambience. The furnishings were reto chic, tastefully decorated and super comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom were very clean and had everything we needed.

Fantastic stay! I will be back if they clean up the cob webs :)

Loved the view and all the little things they thought of to make us feel more at home.

Too many spiders and spider webs everywhere, all corners and nooks need to be cleaned.

We really enjoyed our stay at River cottage. the rooms were lovely and the overall cottage was fantastic. The little extras we were not expecting. Tea, coffee, sugar, Milk and even Rusks. We will definitely be booking again.

There was nothing we were unhappy with. The only thing that could be mentioned is we didn’t know that we were staying by a spa would of liked to book massages but they were full. Otherwise it was amazing

The beautiful setting and the privacy and space.

I wasn't told that the entrance was through the Woodlands Spa security gate and there was no signboard to say the River Cottage was basically on the same premises. Therefore ended up driving up and down the road looking for the Riverside Cottage. Also no reception area to check in/out. Had to walk around the property looking for someone to get the keys and also to hand the keys in on check out .

Relaxing stay close to Johannesburg and Pretoria.

The River Cottage is a nice and quite place. the only thing you hear is the water from the stream. there is a Spa on the property which is wonderful. You can have a healthy Breakfast or Lunch at the Spa’s restaurant. The pool is wonderful for the summer heat. There is DSTV Premium.

Stunning location, quiet, relaxing and very comfortable.

The host and staff were friendly, and we received a warm welcome when we arrived. I planned a Spa Day at Woodlands Spa for my daughter's birthday and the location was perfect, walking distance to the Spa. A stunning location with a beautiful view of the river. Quiet and relaxing. The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated with lots of extras that made our stay comfortable. Crisp linen on the comfy beds and fresh towels. We had a wonderful stay and will return.

Must Experience

There was plenty of space, white crisp linen and comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom has a tub and spotless shower. The cottage is beautifully decorated without being overwhelming .The outdoors are the crowning glory. The scenery is amazing from every angle. There was complenterary charcoal and firelighters. Coffee, tea, sugar and milk was also provided. Rechargeable lights and gas stove that can come in handy during loadshedding. Don't think about just book.

Lovely garden, cottage not accurately described

Gardens and location were very good.

Advertised as 2 bedroom, but is 1 bedroom with a further (rock hard) bed in the lounge. Leaking loo (acknowleged by host on arrival and promised to be rectified the following day but not done at any point during our 5 night stay) meant creaking pipes throughout the night made for poor sleep. Extremely brightly lit outside and no ability to control the lighting meant outside was too bright at night to enjoy. Some softer lighting would have made a big difference. Inside is dingy, a coat of paint is long overdue and black and brown tiling throughout make it depressing. Struggled to find the property as it part of another business and it is not signposted from the road.
