About this house rental

We have been vacation rental owners in Harpers Ferry since 2009 (see VRBO 265656), and are committed to ensuring that our guests enjoy a comfortable and truly unique stay in one of the most historic and charming towns on the East Coast.

We acquired this charming new (200 year old!) house and spent 2020 completing renovations. Like our other downtown Harpers Ferry vacation rental, this 200 year old home is located in the heart of downtown Harpers Ferry and on top of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Restaurants, shops, hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail,) museums, and shops are quite literally feet away.

The front door of the house is off of the front porch at the top of the stairs (see pictures). Hang out on the front porch and enjoy the beautiful mountain views and the activity in town below you, or enter through the front door into a charming living room. Off of the living room you will find a fully-equipped eat-in kitchen with dining table for 6 plus 3 countertop stools and a half bath. Head up the stairs to the second floor where you will find 2 bright bedrooms (both with awesome views!), a full bath, and a super-cozy TV room. Exit out to the back patio from the TV room, and wander up the hill in the back yard to find an absolutely spectacular view of the Harpers Ferry Gap!

This truly is a one-of-a-kind house in an amazing location. OH...It also comes with a parking space (a HUGE bonus in Harpers Ferry!!). Please note that the parking space is located on Potomac Street, and you must climb 65 steps up to High Street where the house is located. Luggage drop-off is permitted any time except Saturday and Sunday between 11AM and 5PM. Also, please note that the stairs in this house are very steep! Please keep this in mind if you have trouble with stairs!

This is an excellent place to stay to experience Harper's Ferry. The historic section of the town, closest to the rivers is very small and has very few places to stay. This house is right in the midst of it with a great view overlooking the historic streets. The house itself is old, but well kept and clean. It feels as though you are part of the history during your stay. Bars and restaurants, although there are not too many right in town are within easy walking distance. The National Park itself is equally close, as are the rivers and walking trails. Having a parking space in Harper's Ferry is an amazing benefit, it is down the hill as described in the listing, but it really made the stay easy.

We only had time for a quick, two night stay. Ut this property is AMAZING! The Van Gogh theme does not disappoint, the whole house is super cozy, and it's in the heart of my favorite place on earth! We'll definitely be back!

Perfectly located, everything you need in walkimg distance. The home is old and really interesting. Its age added to the experience. We plan on visiting HF again in the Fall and will be booking it again.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful Harpers Ferry home. It was so amazing to stay in the historical area and be close and able to walk to all the National Park sites. We were most attracted to that lovely porch and enjoyed our coffee there in the early morning, watching the town come to life. We also liked afternoons reading and napping there and an evening glass of wine after dinner. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, the furniture and beds were very comfortable. We will certainly stay here again if our travels bring us back to Harpers Ferry.

This historic home is full of historical architecture while containing modern updates. The convenient location to Harper’s Ferry and food establishments across the street could not be beat. Those who have an affection for trains will enjoy the day and night rumblings and horns of trains going through the historic downtown area.
