Named after the three shipwrecks whose watery resting places lie just outside the front door of this charming waterfront apartment, Three Schooners offers a peaceful haven from bustling downtown Boothbay Harbor, a five-minute stroll away.
This ground-level, one-bedroom apartment (with queen-size bed) has an inviting sitting room with a twin bed sleeper sofa and TV with premium cable. The large, bright eat-in kitchen comes equipped with full-size refrigerator/freezer, electric stove, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee-maker, everything you need for cooking (including the lobster pot), and table service for six. The serene bedroom is furnished with a richly appointed queen-size bed, large chest of drawers, and full-size closet. The bathroom includes a spacious shower with bench and luxurious linens including oversized bath sheets.
Whether enjoying an early morning cup of coffee or a spectacular sunset glass of wine, the large backyard beckons with several seating areas (including a picnic table and an old-fashioned double swing) to take in the various tidal personalities of the always-changing historic Mill Cove. Whether it is the newest generation of ducklings paddling and playing behind their watchful mother, a blue heron fishing at low tide, or a party of gulls sparring on the skeletal ship remains, the cove never disappoints. Beyond the lush flower and vegetable garden (from which you are welcome to help yourself to whatever is ready to harvest), guests can head down the ramp to the floating dock at high tide and take a refreshing swim or paddle the two Pongo kayaks out for a spin (life jackets provided) over to the main Harbor to the east or along the quiet shoreline to the west (local guide available).

Would have given it six stars if we could. Couldn' t have been better. Very nice apartment with a beautiful view over a tidal cove. Marion is a lovely, thoughtful hostess - and a very interesting person - who provides a well-stocked kitchen and gives you a welcome bouquet of flowers from her pretty and well-maintained garden, plus the right to pick whatever vegetables are in season. She has a binder with lots of information on restaurants and activities as well as numerous flyers. We loved 1) the Coastal Botanical Gardens, the ferry trip to Monhegan Island, a sailing trip on the Bay Lady, and the boat tour of the Kennebec. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Sometimes you pick a vacation spot and love it. Then go home and think "well, not so sure." Not so with the Three Schooners. It does not disappoint thanks to Marion a super hostess. The location is perfect! Easy access to multiple day trips. 5 minutes from the Botanical Gardens. don't miss looking for the Trolls! and the blueberry pie at Moody's. Too many great things to do! Cabbage Island clambake a must! Shoot... I want to go right back! Thanks, Marion

Marion’s place is the perfect place to spend a relaxing vacation. We did a lot of exploring locally. Went to a few great restaurants and beaches. The best part was just being at the apartment. Sitting on the dock tanning, using the 2 kayaks provided to paddle around the cove or sitting in the yard enjoying the shade and the lovely breeze. Marion treats you like a friend. She makes sure you have everything you need. We mentioned we couldn’t find Maine blueberries and the next day she brought us some. If you’re planning a trip to Boothbay, you can’t go wrong with Three Schooners.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay in this perfect location in Boothbay Harbor. The beautiful apartment had everything we needed to feel right at home. Marion, our host, was gracious and full of recommendations for not only Boothbay Harbor, but also for other spots in Maine. The backyard leads right up to Mill’s Cove, which provided beautiful scenery as well as a place to kayak. Marion’s garden was also available to us to use- such a nice touch. The apartment was less than a 10 minute walk to the harbor where there were so many wonderful restaurants and shops. We can’t wait to return to this spot sometime soon. This property is within walking distance of the village of Boothbay Harbor. Beautiful waterfront outdoor space is welcoming and a relaxing spot to unwind with a good book. The raised bed garden was beautiful to look at and to sample from! The availability of kayaks was a plus and paddling the cove was a peaceful start to the days spent there. The apartment was clean and comfortable; the host thought of everything. The cut flowers and basket of goodies was a lovely touch and very welcoming. Out host was onsite and was a joy to chat with and provide recommendations for food and leisure activities in the area. A great experience that we hope to repeat in the future.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the apartment, especially the availabilty of the 2 kayaks which we used every morning fir paddling around the bay. The apt was very comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking meals. The bed was super comfortable and we were very greatful for use of the washer and dryer. The hostess, Marion, was so friendly and accommodating. She gave us a welcome gift of fresh blueberry muffins, a bottle of wine and some Maine maple syrup, and let us take anything we wanted from her vegetable garden. We would definitely recommend this place to others!

We loved our week stay at this cute apt. It was just what we needed for exploring in our convertible in Maine. Marion welcomed us when we arrived. She had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the wine, flowers, blueberry muffins and maple syrup that she had on the coffee table.
We made breakfast's there and walked to Boothbay most evenings for dinner. Enjoyed the waterfront dining.
It was so relaxing sitting by the cove in Marion's backyard. It was a wonderful vacation and Marion was a terrific hostess!

Our stay at Three Schooners (there really are three wrecks in the Cove) was delightful. Host Marion not only was most welcoming when we arrived but continued so through our stay. The ground floor apartment is clean, very well fitted out and cozy. Walking just steps into the lovely garden to observe the tides and wild life on Mill Cove is a special and quiet treat. But you are also only 5-8 minutes walk to the center of Boothbay Harbor with all it has to offer. The delightful Maine Botanical Gardens are only 7 minutes' drive via rural roads and you have equally easy access to Southport Island a few minutes west and Ocean Point on the east. All in all, a 5 star hideaway!

Marion was the perfect host. Cozy apartment, very clean, bright, and all of the kitchen supplies we could ask for. Perfect location to walk into town. Welcome goodies were very much appreciated. Lots of hot water, and access to the washer and dryer which we used several times. We will not stay anywhere else in Boothbay so I plan to make my reservations very early before she books up. It was a wonderful 4 day stay.

We had a lovely stay at this apartment & the hostess Marion was very helpful and accommodating. She had blueberry muffins, maple syrup and wine waiting to greet us. Very short walk to town with access to shops, restaurants and boat dock. Took several boating excursions and ate some wonderful seafood. Nearby hiking trails made for a wonderful stay. Our only suggestion would be for more comfortable seating in the TV area. The outdoor space is lovely overlooking the cove and we were able to harvest some vegetables from Marion’s lush garden. We hope to return again to this lovely place

We greatly enjoyed our week+ at Three Schooners. It was a great stay on many fronts:
Host - Marion was terrific. Available, friendly, helpful, but not at all intrusive. The apartment is the bottom floor of a three floor house, and Marion lives right above. We saw her occasionally as she wattered the garden, but still felt like we had all the privacy in the world.
Property - The back yard is on Mill Cove in Botthbay Harbor (around a bend from the main harbor, but easily within kayakaingor walking distance). Two kayaks are available for your use. At high tide you can kayak in and out. Out low tide, the cove turns into a mudflat. The backyard has lots of seating options so you can sit, relax and look at the cove. There's also an abundant garden and Marion welcomed us to pick what we liked.
Apartment - Very clean and nicely equiped apartment. We didn't cook any meals, but you could if you wanted to. I appreciate that Marion has some basic food stores available. The bathroom was nice. The bed slept really well. The kitching/dining area was bright and useful. The living area allowed views out to the cove. If I had one small critique it is that the little sofa was not the most comfortable. Everything was clean and nice.
Location - Three Schooners is an easy 5 minute walk to downtown Boothbay Harbor where you'll find all the shops, restaurants, entertainment and waterfront. It was nice being so close, but also being able to retreat away from the hustle and bustle. We walked to dinner every night. You could also kayak over if you were so inclined. Boothbay is certainly touristy, but not overly so - not syrupy sweet like some tourist towns. Boothbay felt like a mix of vacationers and locals, and was not overcrowded.
Attractions - we especially enjoyed the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. It would have been even more fun with kids or grandkids. Our other favorite was the trip to Monehegan Island. The hike on the ocean side was terrific - an incredible mix of forest, rocky ledges, and rugged dramatic views. We saw dophins, porpoise and whales during our short hike. The opposite side of the island is the definiation of Maine-quaint. Plenty of places to eat or shop for local crafts. There's even a craft brewery. If we were doing it over, though, we'd take a picnic lunch and enjoy our lunch on the trail overlooking the ocean.
Restaurants - our favorites: Mine Oysters, Ports of Italy and Shannons Unfinnished.

This was such a nice place for either a quiet getaway or an adventure. Marion was a great hostess and we felt like family at our little oasis. Her garden was there for the picking and the backyard was very peaceful. Boothbay Harbor is a great town with shops, food and trips on the water if you wish to go. We walked almost everyday to eat because we were so close. We loved it.

The yard, gardens and dock make a very peaceful place to relax have a glass of wine or coffee etc. The location to town is just a few minutes walk! The host Marion is a very kind and helpful person. Couldn't have been better!
If you're debating on whether to rent this property: don't hesitate; book it now! Great quiet location 5-10 minute walk to the heart of town. The incredibly well-stocked kitchen and the bedroom are bigger than they appear in the photos, and the apartment in general was super clean, comfortable, and everything worked. The backyard has nice views of Mill Cove, lots of furniture, and is an excellent place to relax. We enjoyed salads of fruit & veg from Marion's amazing garden. Speaking of Marion, her hospitality was second to none. She was very friendly, helpful & communicative, and was readily available if needed, but also non-obtrusive. My wife & I will absolutely give this property first look should we return to Boothbay.

Lovely stay in Boothbay Harbor
We had a lovely stay at Three Schooners. The location was top notch, out of the main drag enough that you're staying in a pleasant neighborhood, but an easy enough 10-minute walk to most of the harbor attractions. We popped back and forth between town and the apartment most days and blessed not dealing with parking. Marion was a lovely host, communicative but not intrusive and she had some great recommendations for the area that we took advantage of. Plus she keeps a beautiful yard and garden. The apartment itself was quite as advertised, well sized for a couple and entirely pleasant.

Great Experience
Perfect couples apartment right on the a cove.. We were there early spring and temperatures were a bit lower so we couldn't enjoy the grounds as much as we would have liked but the property was lovely. Marion was a perfect host - respected our privacy but around just enough to make for a welcoming experience. She gave us some great tips about local sites that we really enjoyed. Our first VRBO experience and she made it a tremendous one.

If you stay at Three Schooners, you will find a slice of paradise. Marion, our host, has created a beautiful apartment with everything you need for a worry-free vacation. Everywhere you look there is beauty, both inside and outside. She greeted us with fresh blueberry muffins, a bottle of wine and lovely flowers from her garden. My husband and I stayed here for a week and loved it! The location is amazing for being close to town. About a 5 min walk into town. The apartment was clean and the Host, Marion, had great suggestions for us. We loved kayaking here but be mindful as you are limited to high tide times. Definitely worth the kayaking though if you can get out and do it. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Fun Food and Relaxation
Warm welcome with flowers. wine and home made blueberry muffins! We took two boat tours: Monhegan Island and Puffins. Both were excellent! Great seafood, scenery, hiking and just walking around. The apartment was well appointed and comfortable - a great place to come back to after the days adventures. Lovely setting with gardens and right on Mill Cove.

the large garden and lawn is filled with wonderful,flowers, plants, sculptures and birds, overlooking a dock of kayaks on a cove of the harbor. the apartment is cozy and comfortable, and quiet at night.... the host is available and helpful whenever needed. this is well within walking distance of the main streets of the town, yet away from traffic and noise...

Best of both worlds.
This is a very clean, light filled, large one bedroom apartment. The bed is possibly the most comfortable bed I've slept in, while staying at a VRBO property. The pictures do not do it justice.
Not only is the apartment large, but you also have the entire backyard for your personal use. The backyard overlooks Mill cove, we took advantage of the glider and enjoyed drinking wine, listening to the birds, and the waterview.
Downtown is a very short walk with restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Therefore, instead of having to search for parking and paying for parking, just leave your car at the apartment!
Marion, our host, is a year round resident of Boothbay and helped us with several dining and destination tips.
We are already planning our return trip for next summer. I can recommend this listing without reservation.

Great location, just a few minutes walk into town. Very clean apartment, good space for 2 people, lovely back yard and garden. And the owner was very accommodating and nice. We arrived to a basket of homemade blueberry muffins and a bottle of wine. Definitely recommend.
