About this house rental
On the Verge is a beautifully presented, traditional cottage, a couple of minutes walk from the clear waters of Callala Beach. With three bedrooms (queen, double, two bunk beds), outdoor dining area, semi-enclosed outdoor lounge, and a spacious backyard, On the Verge is perfect for one family, two couples, or can accommodate two families, as well as dogs (fully fenced). Max four adults please, strictly no schoolies, under 21 yr groups or parties.
On the Verge has everything you need for a relaxing, easy holiday, with a well-equipped kitchen, coffee machine, aircon in the living area, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, flat screen TVs (one in the kids' room with a DVD player), board games, books, toys, outdoor BBQ and woodfire for marshmallow roasting and star-gazing, swings, a cubby hut, a climbing tree, range of outdoor games (including badminton and croquet) and an outdoor shower for washing off after the beach.
Callala Beach area:
Callala Beach is an easy 2 1/2 hour drive south of Sydney and 3 hours from Canberra. It is one of the last sleepy coastal villages with friendly locals, surrounded marine park and national parks.
Callala Beach is renowned for its 4km stretch of beautiful white sand & clear blue waters and is a favourite spot for resident pods of dolphins and migrating whales. Nature is abundant, kangaroo spotting or bird watching with the wake up calls of kookaburras, rosellas and sea eagles. Bring your kayaks for the beach or creek, fishing rods for the rock platform from the beach, snorkelling, sailing, boogie-boarding, boat riding, and cycling, are all popular activities. Catch the ferry to Huskisson for ice cream, fish and chips or a delicious pub lunch.
There are two boat ramps in close proximity, Myola (5min drive) and Callala Bay (5min drive).
The Callala Beach RSL is a great, kid-friendly meeting place with a cheap and cheerful menu, and a 9 hole golf course where you can see Kangaroos.
5 mins drive away, Callala Bay offers Italian and Chinese restaurants, IGA, butcher, bakery, and coffee shop.

This cute property was a smaller property but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Beds were very comfy, large yard for dogs, grandkids loved the trampoline and the board games.
We enjoyed our stay, we found the ferry was expensive especially for a family group, probably best to drive

The cottage is in a wonderful location, close to the gorgeous beach and pretty central to explore the Shoalhaven area. It had everything we needed - very well appointed. Thanks Suzanne.

Lovely old cottage at Callala Beach……if you’re after a quiet getaway by the sea with your Dog this little cottage offers it all. Comfortable beds, great location, only a short walk to a Dog friendly beach, secure yard and the odd rabbit to watch while you relax on the bench out the front……prime location allowing you to explore beautiful Jervis Bay.

We settled in very quickly - a real home away from home - with everything that you need. We had a very relaxing stay with lots of reading, eating and great walks along the beach. Our little dog was secure in the yard and it was great being able to bring her on holidays with us - she really enjoyed her first visit to the beach. The house is in a great location and we would love to stay again.

We travelled down to Callala for the weekend, my Mother, Husband and 3 children for a quick beach getaway before winter sets in and had an absolutely beautiful stay at The Verge.
The house was imaculately clean, well stocked with items such as cutlery, plates, glasses, the bathroom was spacious and everything worked well. It has a perfect little sunroom out the back to relax in and everything was comfortable. The kids absolutely LOVED the backyard, and spent an entire afternoon until well after dark relaxing in the treehouse.
The house is perfectly placed, a 5 minute walk from the beach, and only a 5 minute drive to a decent IGA or the local RSL Club which was great for dinner.
The host was amazing with communication, giving us a fantastic list of things to do and see with the kids and really responsive.
We cant recommend this house enough and will definitely be back there again!

We were really happy with the property at Callala Beach. It was just what we wanted for a 4 day break with our son and grandson.
The cottage was very clean, well maintained, roomy, well equipped and light and airy. The beds were comfortable. There are plenty of games for adults and children and a good selection of DVDs. The WiFi speed was excellent.
The walk to the beach only takes about 10 minutes, the last 5 of which is through unspoilt coastal bushland with old banksia trees.
Suzzane is an excellent host. Here instructions were clear and she kept in touch after a few days of showers to see if we needed anything.
We highly recommend the property to anyone looking for a nice cottage close to the beach at Callala beach.

We had an enjoyable stay. The property is nice and close to the beach. The only suggestion I have , a doggie door would have been good in the back room.

Great value for money, comfortable, good beds, clean, pet friendly and reminds us of the beach holidays of childhood. Best of all, an easy 5 minute stroll down to beautiful Callala beach. Wonderful few days and we come back again and again..

Location, location, location! An established home away from home within a short beach track walk to one of the most beautiful and calm beaches.
Suzanne’s place has everything you need for your stay - she’s kept the house stocked with all the essentials which is really nice.
Great aircon, very family friendly for my two young kids (4.5 and just under 2 years old) with little chairs, toys and unbreakable things to eat with.
Suzanne is a great host - easy to communicate with and shares local info as part of her check in process which made our little getaway great.
Check in and out both easy processes.
Easy holiday with all you need at a great Australian beach hamlet.

Well set up. Everything you need. Well air conditioned in main area and really good fan/cooling floor units in each bedroom. Plus the beach is fantastic.

We were generally very happy. I may have misread the listing but I didn't realise that there was air-conditioning in the living room only. Bed rooms did have fans but not as cool. All manageable. Thank you.

Amazing experience, everything was easy to find and the owners were really accomodating :)

This is by far the best beach house I have ever stayed in. It's in a quiet neighbourhood. It is a stone's throw to a beautiful white sand beach.
The house itself is really well thought out. Has a lovely back garden and an enclosed outdoor lounge where you can hang your wet stuff if it's raining outside. Super powerful shower and 2 loos which is a bonus.
Lovely wee verandah to sit out on of an evening and excellent wifi. Because we had our dog we had to stop in each evening and didn't get the least bit bored as it's such a lovely house to be in.
On your doorstep are some more amazing beaches to explore. In terms of eating there's quite a choice of fish and chips in the immediate area and a local no-frills chinese. There's also a pizza place that when we were there were no longer delivering. If you like restaurants take a drive to Huskisson it's beautiful! For decent coffee I liked Benny's cafe at Culburra Beach (right near a decent Woolies for your shop). They do a mean French Toast there.
Also there's a cute food truck in Huskisson (Harleys) that do nice coffee and brekkie. There's a cute vintage shop joined to it. Seating outside as well. For a bit of a drive there's a decent winery Two Figs in Berry in a gorgeous setting. We stayed with our doggie and found most places dog friendly. The whole of Jindyandy Mill is dog friendly with quirky shops and a lovely cafe. The only negative of the trip was the amount of pot holes on the roads so take care.
Suzanne (the host) is amazing checking in to see if we needed anything and gave us plenty of hints and tips for our stay.
We went to Mollymook which is south of Callara Beach and although it is lovely it lacked the tranquility of Jervis Bay so glad we chose to travel a little bit further up the coast.
I can't wait to go back! Thanks Suzanne!

This is an original beach cottage. Its small, but has three bedrooms. However, it needs a lounge room furniture upgrade and a linen upgrade. The cottage is clean, the bathroom and kitchen are modern and well equipped, it has good wifi and a TV and the garden is fully fenced for pets. I love Callala beach and this location is brilliant!

Exactly as advertised, clean, tidy and so close to the beach. Good communication with owner. Absolutely loved the house, it's well set up for people and dogs. We will be booking in for more getaways here. Thanks so much!

It was a great place to stay with my family and dog. The semi enclosed area is perfect for my greyhound to sleep and relax. The house are fully fenced so it is free for him to explore as well. Callala Beach was just a short walk away, it was great for morning and afternoon walks. The house was very clean and had all the essentials. Communication with the owner was very easy. Highly recommended!

We are so happy with our stay at Suzanne's house at Callala Beach. Booking was easy and there was prompt and helpful communication from Suzanne.
The house was beautifully clean, well equipped and very comfortable. A short walk to the dog friendly beach which we, and our Spoodle, loved.
I would recommend a stay and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Fantastic location and really comfortable, dog friendly house
Suzanne, our host, was fantastic from the start. Great ideas and recommendations for us to really enjoy our time away. Our dogs loved the beach and came with us to the breweries and wineries. Very comfortable house for the four adults in our family. Would recommend the house to our friends. Brilliant.

Great proximity to beach
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Callala Beach and at this property. It is a short stroll from a track to the beach and very well appointed. The indoor/outdoor room at the back of the house was really handy for popping our two small doggies away if we needed to pop out.
The majority of things you might forget are there such as mosquito coils, coffee pods, toilet paper, insect spray etc. Suzanne is an attentive and communicative host. The split system air conditioning system was a bonus as we had a couple of warm days. The yard is well fenced and our doggies loved it along with their frequent beach walks.
For really extreme weather the aircon would not be adequate. Although there were fans in all of the bedrooms.
Our stay was lovely, the location was peaceful and great and we definitely will be back.
