About this cabin rental
Situated in Shenandoah Valley, this lovely cabin for $230 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Located in the Shenandoah Valley our cabin is located on a quiet street on a 1/2 acre lot. The backyard is fenced for big and small dogs. On the back porch is a nice gas grill. A few steps down is a hot tub. The hot tub is nice especially when returning home from a day of hiking in the Shenandoah National Park which is only 20 minutes away. Inside the home are two bedrooms, each with a king size bed. We furnish wireless internet and satellite TV. I will email you a list of activities that are all close to our cabin. There is something for everyone at The Great Escape.

My husband and I stayed at the Great Escape with another couple and our dog. Before we even arrived, the owners sent out extensive information about things to do and what was nearby which was very helpful! The house was the perfect size for all of us and the fenced in back yard was perfect for our dog. We highly recommend this house!

My husband two pups and I had a wonderful quiet relaxing stay at Don and Lina’s place. It was perfect! Fast and easy communication with Don, well equipped, clean, cozy, just what we needed. We were there the week before the Holidays and they had a cute Christmas tree which made for great ambiance. The fenced in back yard was our favorite part, just because of the pups. They had as much fun as we did. Thank you for sharing your wonderful property. We would definitely come back.

My husband and i wanted somewhere to have a quiet Thanksgiving where we could also take our great dane. This was the perfect place. Exactly as described. Well appointed kitchen. Lovely fenced in yard that allowed our big boy to roam safely while we enjoyed the hot tub. We both worked remotely the day after Thanksgiving and the internet was able to keep up. Great TV in the family room and master bedroom. Nice gas fireplace. Would have liked to have a fire in the backyard but that may be a bridge too far. Hosts were very responsive. Would definitely stay again.

my daughter and i and her dog had a very relaxing stay at the great escape. The house was spotless, the beds very comfy and the kitchen well equipped. The fenced in backyard was great for our pup since he tends to run away. All in all a delightful stay.

Location was great for visiting the area of Shenandoah. The cabin was comfortable, well stocked and relaxing. A comforting home atmosphere added to our enjoyment as it was obvious that Don and Lina had put in a lot of effort to make you feel welcomed. We would definitely stay again.

I can't say enough good things about this VRBO. The property is very clean and well maintained. The cabin is modern yet rustic and has everything to make your stay comfortable. If you want to cook for yourself you have everything that you need for cookware, serving ware and cutlery. The beds are very comfortable as are the rest of the furnishings. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the property. The location is convenient to the Park and other attractions. The Luray Caverns were absolutely amazing (I have a geology background). The owners were so helpful and responsive. As soon as we reserved the property they sent us extensive information on the cabin, attractions and businesses in the area. We were able to research our trip and took in some of the attractions that we would not have been aware of including Monticello and Montpelier (Jefferson's and Madison's homes). We had a great stay. Thanks Don and Lina!

Beautiful, clean, well appointed cabin. Safe area, fenced yard and a hot tub!!!! What more can you ask for. It was very nice that both bedrooms had comfy king beds. No one felt like they got the short end of the stick of bedroom picks.
It was also great to have a working fireplace even though it was not cold enough for us to feel the need to use. We were so happy our well behaved dogs were welcome and it shows that the owners are definitely animal lovers.
We will come back again:)

Great Escape Cabin is in a nice quiet location and it was very peaceful to sit outside and listen to nature. The king size bed was very comfortable with cozy bedding. My friends and I travel a few times a year to a new National Park. This year it was the Shenandoah NP. There were just two of us this time and we chose to get this house namely because we would each have our own bathroom and bedroom! We were also looking for a full kitchen because we wanted to prepare our sack lunches for the hikes and our own dinners when we got in for the day. We absolutely LOVED this house!! It's in a quiet and quaint neighborhood. The drive to the park is anywhere from 20-40 minutes depending on which hiking trail you are choosing. No matter how long the drive is though all of the scenery is beautiful.
The house itself is very clean. As mentioned there are two bathrooms and two bedrooms and each have ample closet and dresser space to unpack. The beds are both king size and very comfortable. They have a W/D to clean your clothes and they supply the detergent. The kitchen itself has everything you could need. However, if you want to make something with specific spices or oils then bring your own. The owners give you a list of things to do and areas to eat in the neighborhood. We had the best time here! We definitely want to come back in the Fall one year and we only want to stay at this house. This has been my favorite VRBO house ever. I can't recommend it enough!

The cabin was awesome, it was very clean and perfect for our stay. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The fenced in backyard was perfect for dogs and the hot tub was nice. There was plenty of parking and the house was very easy to find. It was near a lot of hiking trails and fishing spots, we would definitely rebook if we come back to the area!

Nice, modestly appointed cabin. Located in a quiet neighborhod within 25 minutes of Luray. Closer restaurant options available. Great for 2 to 4 adults. Comfortable bed and pillows. Loved the hot tub. Hosts are friendly and quick responders to questions.

This cabin is about 40 minutes from JMU. It was perfect for us when we moved our daughter into grad school. It is located close to many great hiking trails. The cabin is just as described and more. It is extremely neat and clean as well as nicely stocked for kitchen items. The process was so easy from booking, check-in, and check-out. We will stay again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin is perfect! Super clean and great for two or four. A very quiet neighborhood with little traffic, great back yard, and the hot tub was perfect. We spent most of our time sight seeing and relaxing afterwards on the back porch. We highly recommend this property for a nice get away.

We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. We were impressed by how well prepared you had the cabin for us. We have rented cabins before and stayed in hotels, this was by far a great property. We loved the layout of the cabin and the yard also. I think the best time we had was in the early morning sitting out on the front porch drinking our coffee and being greeted by almost complete silence. WOW! The biggest thing, I had to do was keep track of the rabbit going from one bush to another. Where we live there is always background noise. I bet it is also beautiful in the fall with all the colors. We will be trying to make it out there again. Wonderful trip.

The cabin had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We prefer a king bed. We only needed one, but this place has two bedrooms with king beds. Very unusual and nice if 2 couples are traveling together.
The half mile trail down to Catherine’sFurnscd is across the street. A nice walk.

It was a pleasure working with Don and his thoroughness in sending info about what the cabin had, directions, how to get into the cabin as well as other info on the area . The cabin is immaculate and they provide unexpected items, such as tissue boxes, bathroom cups, liquid soap dispenser and much more. The bed was very comfortable. Don responds right away to text messages. The cabin is very peaceful and in a quiet neighborhood where homes are well spaced apart. The cabin is located close to Luray Caverns, Shenandoha National Park, and Skyline Drive. It was very welcoming to come back to the cabin after our day's adventure. We hope to be able to return another time.

We stayed here for my sons graduation from JMU. It was not close but not terribly far away either. It was beautifully decorated & very clean. Loved that it had a fenced yard for our dog. Would stay again for sure

I spent the week here with my two pups. Having a fully fenced nice sized yard was fantastic. Being able to relax in the hot tub while the dogs explored the yard was great. The cabin was very well taken care of and a great location.

The property is exactly as shown in photos. The back yard is large and securely fenced. Our dogs absolutely loved it.
The house is comfortable, well laid out, and very clean. This is the only vacation rental we've been in that we did feel the need to not "touch up" clean before we unpacked.
The neighborhood is quiet, all we heard were the birds in the morning while watching the sunrise over the mountains. There is a good distance between houses on the street and plenty of room in the driveway. It's a short walk to go hiking in the national forest.
Truly a "Great Escape".
