About this house rental
If you are looking for a fabulous, spacious, 'spoil yourself' home... nestled on the side of Pikes Peak with tall pine trees, wildflowers, wildlife, and world class fishing, hiking... all minutes from Colorado Springs, look no further!
Our beautiful home is in the perfect location...7 minutes West of Colorado Springs, so close to everything, but in a peaceful setting with tall trees and lots of privacy. To the West is Woodland Park, a 5 minute drive to a newer Walmart and lots of other quaint shops. We are 2 minutes from the mountain town of Green Mountain Falls with a small fishing lake, new playground, summer pool and a few wonderful restaurants. What else could you ask for!
We welcome you to our 3200 square foot, custom, mountain home, furnished with two bedrooms upstairs, including a fantastic, huge master suite with breathtaking views, king size comfy bed, sitting area, surround sound Smart TV and a custom private bathroom with soaking tub, double sinks and a 12 jet - waterfall shower! All linens are ON the beds when you arrive, so you do not have to begin your trip by making the beds!
The second bedroom upstairs is my favorite bedroom in the house! It is spacious, with vaulted ceilings, a ceiling fan, special lighting, a twin size bed that easily converts in to a king size bed. The closet in this room is huge with lots of shelves. This bedroom also has a Pella slider which takes you out to the back deck and incredible views of Pikes Peak.
Enjoy the 'living' area that spans the living room, dining room (with fireplace) and a cozy sitting area...all on the upper level with hardwood floors. This area is full of windows with amazing views of Ute Pass, has good lighting and a dining room table that sits 7, multiple couches, games and it’s just a wonderful space to hang out as a group. Enjoy a book or a movie from our collection....there is lots of room to spread out and get lost in the mountains.
The house is tech savy with high speed, wireless internet, and multiple Smart TV's for streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime & more.
The kitchen was fully updated several years ago and has beautiful cream colored cabinets, every single utensil or kitchen gadget you might need, dishwasher, refrigerator (with ice maker) and a high end gas stove. There is a large pantry built into the cabinets for storage, On one end of the kitchen is an office area with a built-in desk just in case you needed to do a little work while you’re here :-), and a very cool and unique bar with four bar stools that separate the kitchen from the living room. It truly is an amazing space! The kitchen has a door that goes to the back deck where you can have dinner or Breakfast with plenty of room outside for a lovely happy hour in the sun 🌞
Now we move on to the lower level of the house...which has the third, large bedroom (Queen size bed, single futon in sitting area) plus a fabulous recreation / living room area (darts, huge TV, surround sound) with a comfy couch and the best feature of all....a custom bar for entertaining! AndThereis a bath downstairs with a shower and a separate laundry room with a sink and front load washer and dryer.
You can exit the house from four different areas....all leading to either a raised deck or private flagstone patio. There is nice patio furniture to enjoy the outdoors, gas grill (you provide the propane) fire pit and a very private setting for you to relax and enjoy the Rocky Mtns. There is parking for two cars down in our driveway which is on the street and to get to the house you walk up a long set of Flagstone steps (see photos). We are not handicap accessible at this point. The house sits on 2 acres so you have lots of privacy and will truly feel like you've escaped to the mountains! We also have wildlife at times, including a family of deer, lots of birds, possibly a fox sighting. Our house sits on the side of Pikes Peak and the temperature is generally 10° cooler than Colorado Springs during the summer. Most houses in our area do not have air-conditioning because it is just not needed due to the lower temperatures. We also have lots of windows and doors that you can open to get a cross breeze and three ceiling fans.
The house is baby proofed with outlet covers and a locking gate at the top of the log stairs. A full size Graco highchair and play and pack are Available upon request only. Please message me if you will need these prior to your reservation.
There is so much to do in this area with wonderful quaint restaurants, waterfall hiking and a lake with a new play ground, fishing and ducks, plus the city of Colorado Springs is only 10 minutes away! Skiing is easy, jump on highway 24 and your only a hour and 1/2 away. Rafting is 45 minutes to the Royal Gorge, horseback riding is right up the hiway in Woodland Park, swimming is 2 minutes away in Green Mtn Falls and snowmobiling is right around the corner too.
We invite you to enjoy our home-away-from-home! We love it... and we know you will too!

We loved our stay, the house size was perfect for our family of 6. Great location for all the things we wanted to enjoy. It felt very nestled on a mountain side, good views. Lovely master suit. Comfy beds. Fully stocked kitchen. Close to pikes peak! We got to see a bear and lots of deer wondering around by the road. We would definitely recommend this house. Thanks again for sharing your home with us!

We stayed in the home with our 2 kids (one young adult and one teenager) along with our best friends and their teenager. There are a lot of stairs but we had fun with it (and I wouldn't say we are super fit people). Once we got up the stairs to the house we joked just keep going, don't stop so we could make it up to the 2nd floor where the main house rooms were. Nancy was wonderful in helping us not only navigate the house and the town. We did not realize there was no central AC/or heat in the house and being from Texas we had an initial freak out moment, but Nancy was wonderful in helping us. There were two tower fans that we rotated around the house and opening windows on opposite ends of the house helped the cool breeze flow through the house. Also the many ceiling fans throughout the house was nice as well. Nancy kept the house pretty stocked which was great when we arrived to figure out what we needed to get from the store. We would totally rebook this home for another Colorado vacation. There is so much to explore we didn't get to half of it! Oh yeah, Nancy was also really great in our late checkout. We didn't have a flight out until the evening and she let us stay a couple extra hours! Thank you Nancy for everything!

This home is a perfect for family and/or friends. It is spacious and has all that you may need. Drinking coffee in the mornings while sitting on the balcony was always so peaceful. Definitely recommend!

We loved it! Fantastic home, very clean, each room was unique. Loved sitting each morning drinking coffee and watching the deer, chipmunks, rabbits, squirrels and let's not forget the hummingbirds. So very peaceful. The windows in the main room let in wonderful natural light. My son, his wife and their 2 teenagers had never been to Colorado. This house made their stay. We all had a blast playing darts (my son is now going to buy a dart set for thier house..lol). And the Foosball table was also a blast. There are also a big selection of games to play as well.
The downstairs with the big tv and big sectional couch allowed all of us to be together as a family and enjoy movie time and just visiting with each other.
Upstairs kitchen and dining table along with the bar is very spacious to accommodate a large family as well. There are a couple of outdoor sitting areas to enjoy the nice weather as well.
We will definitely be booking this house for our next visit to Colorado.
Nancy was awesome with her quick response to any questions we had. She is super sweet and very helpful.
Thank you Nancy and Mike for sharing your wonderful house with us. We will definitely be back!!

Great vacation home! It is large and very comfortable and easily accommodating the 5 adults who stayed there. The location is close and conveniently located to Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and Manitou.

Our family of 5 loved this unique mountain home. It was a great jumping off point for Pikes Peak, Pikes National Forest, Garden of the Gods, North Cheyenne Canyon Park, Colorado Springs, and Manitou Springs. We loved just spending time in the home too, playing foosball, listening to records, enjoying coffee on the porch, and reading in the nooks. Communication was clear. The area was beautiful. If we are ever back in the area this is the first place we will look.

House was well supplied; beds were so comfortable. There were 3 outdoor gathering places. TVs had hundreds of channels. We were in awe of the master shower.
Only issue was the flagstone steps leading to the entrance. I wish there had been a railing to hold onto. (I have a hip issue). It’s in a beautiful setting. We saw 2 deer, a raccoon and bunnies.

The setting was very beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed spending the weekend in this quiet and beautiful home. Nancy was very responsive and helpful.
We had just a couple of suggestions for the property. It would have been nice if the patios and patio furniture had been cleaned up a bit. Also, there weren’t any napkins, paper towels, or TP (except for some left on the rolls). Having some extra supplies would have made the stay more comfortable.

We had a great time doing horseback riding
Caves, train to pikes peak 7 water falls
GreT dining in the area. And a great house to relax after a busy day.

It was so wonderful to sit on the back patio every morning enjoying my coffee while looking at the beautiful mountains. Being a Floridian this was a heavenly oasis from the heat back home! The place was in a great location tucked away but close enough to must see attractions like Garden of the Gods! Nancy was a wonderful host and very communicative. The house had everything we needed in the kitchen and we loved playing the foosball table every night. There were other games to partake in along with a fantastic collection of records that we loved! We slept great every night too and my family is a snob for shower water pressure that didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend the place

Awesome place, house was in the perfect location, had wildlife in the yard, views were spectacular, Nancy is a great property manager and the fuse ball table brought back great childhood memories. Would highly recommend!!

Everything was wonderful!! The house is absolutely gorgeous. The views breathtaking. Our host was so easy to work with. The only reason I gave one 4 star rating was that they do not mention the amount of stairs to get in and out. Otherwise, it is perfect. It also seems to be on a deer trail, as we saw multiple deer, including babies, nearly everyday, which we absolutely loved!! One even came right up to us!!! Overall, this is a fabulous stay!!!

Perfect Last Minute Get-Away
Multi-Generational family vacation booked last minute. Hosts were super helpful and accommodating, allowed early check-in, which was so much appreciated. The home is as described, well stocked, clean and comfortable. We had some questions during our stay and Nancy was very kind and quick to respond.
The location is great, with short commutes to historical sites, hiking trails, local restaurants and shopping. Our favorite restaurants were Mucky Duck in Green Mountain Falls and Wines Of Color in Cascade.
Like everyone else indicates, the stairs can be a challenge. If staying here, my recommendation is to use the back door at the top with the key, instead of the keypad entry at the first access point. Follow the stone stairway to the top in lieu of going in the coded door and going up the steep stairwell inside to the main floor. Our party had limited issues with the stairs, but understand others may find them more difficult. We did use the stone stairs, as it is easier to carry in groceries and packages to the kitchen.

Quiet mountain neighborhood.
Great mountain neighborhood in natural setting. Tall pines throughout, great variety of wildflowers in the naturally landscaped yards. Our guests loved the house, we ate most of our meals outside on the large patio. Location makes for an easy run into Woodland Park or Manitou Springs. Very Nice!

Family vacation
The house was wonderful. Very clean and stocked with everything we needed. The scenery and area was amazing. Although we were in a small community in the mountains, it was close and convenient to everything we wanted to do. We saw mule deer around the house everyday. The owner communicated very well. We would definitely consider staying here again sometime. Thank you so much for a great vacation!

Cascade Home
We had a great family trip. Enjoyed the location of the home in relation to all of the activities we planned on doing. Communication with owner very easy and helpful. Only challenge were the steep stairs to the home when carrying luggage and groceries, but I guess to be expected when staying on a mountain. Thanks for all of the help!

Mountain Oasis
The home had so much to offer in amenities and things to do. There are so many places to relax inside and outside. We were very comfortable there. The owner was wonderful and promptly responsive to any message that I sent. I would definitely book this home again. The only con was the Mohawk Trail drive. It was a little steep and curvy in spots, which didn’t bother me, but made my husband a little queezy.

Colorado Motorcycle trip!
The road to the house was a little hairy only because we are from Iowa. Not bad though. The stairs kind of kicked our butts because we are not spring chickens and not use to the elevation. The house was prefect for the 6 of us. ( 3 couples). We all had seperate bedrooms and each had a bathroom. Loved the master bedroom and bathroom, lots of room and worked out nicely. The weather was alittle rainy but how would you know it would be like that. We made the best of it and would consider staying in the same place again. The only thing we could see was the cleaning could of been alittle better. Maybe some deep cleaning now and then would help.

Beautiful Views!
We had a great stay! The home had the most beautiful views from almost every window. The location was great and we were able to get everywhere in only a matter of minutes. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out and lots of toys, dvds, books and internet to keep us entertained.
The only issues that we had was that there was no door to the master bathroom making privacy difficult and there was no master closet to hang our clothes and put away shoes. Other than that the home was quite comfortable and we would recommend it.

Great location!
I want to start out by saying thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. The location was amazing. We were close to everything, which was great since it was almost a 13 hour drive to get to the house. The last thing my kids wanted to do was get back in the car! My favorite part of the house was the location, and the view out the two front windows was amazing! We also spent a lot of time on the back porch relaxing and sometimes eating dinner. My 5 year old loved playing with all of the toys available. We also loved the awesome selection in DVD’s. My final favorite thing was the unbelievable shower in the Master bedroom. Wow!!!
Just a few things that I would pass on to people, there are quite a few stairs to get up to the actual house, so it may not be good for elderly. The winding road up to the house was a little scary initially, but you get used to it. Just slow down and take your time and it’s no big deal. If you have a baby, the ownwers have everything you could possibly need:)
Thanks again for everything!

Great for a family vacation
The kids loved all of the toys at this house. The house is very close to most of the major attractions in the area and it's set in a beautiful location. Expect to see deer out the back door most days.

Lovely Home
My husband and I stayed at this beautiful mountain home over New Years. It was spacious, yet very cozy. The master room was exceptional with a fantastic en-suite: a large walk-in shower and bath. This home is great for a romantic break away or a family holiday. We cannot recommend it more.
It was also very close to Manitou Springs- which we enjoyed visiting. Lots of little shops and a great Fondue restaurant.

We had a great time in your lovely home. The best part was jacuzzi in the master bathroom and in-house bar feeling :) And ofcourse the beautiful mountain view. Garden of Gods is very close to this house. Beds were comfy and house is like new.

100% Appropriate Title
Our vacation stay was wonderful. The home was exactly as advertised. The owners went above and beyond to enable our vacation plans. Most importantly, they were honest.
We highly recommend property #199390. My wife says having this home gave our kids a great and safe place to play and unwide at the end of the day and this GREATLY contributed to a lower stress level for her (which is typically through the roof when we stay at hotels). It was relatively easy to figure out how to operate everything in the house. The master shower was so AWESOME, we did not mind squeegy'ing it after every use. We are trying to figure out how to replicate that shower in our own home. Beds and couches were very comfy, making it easy to relax while we were there. The neighbors we encountered were friendly. Good location, although my wife did not like the winding highway we had to take to get to civilization, she loved our proximity to Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, etc., etc.

Great Vacation Home!
Our family stayed in this lovely home for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! It was minutes away from just about everything we wanted to do and see around the Colorado Springs area. Pikes Peak, Cheyenne Zoo, Wolf Sanctuary (a MUST SEE), jeep rides, Garden of the Gods, etc. -- all great things to see/do. The location was perfect, the home was clean and the owners were extremely helpful with the one issue we had with a couple of the windows. They took care of it immediately and were very pleasant to deal with. We have rented many homes through VRBO over the years and were very satisfied with this one also. The master bedroom/bath is incredible. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us and all our "stuff". Enjoyed the decks and grilling out a few nights. If we had to say anything regarding an "improvement", we would update the kitchen a bit. Otherwise, we would recommend this place to anyone looking for lots of room, beautiful scenery, quiet and again, a great location as home base.

Perfect Vacation Home
The house was awesome! I couldn't have asked for a better vacation home near Colorado Springs. It was extremely well-appointed, and close to many attractions ... including Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak (Cog Railway), Woodland Park, Mueller State Park and Old Colorado City.
The house is very comfortable, the views are incredible and the owners are very attentive! I highly recommend and hope to stay there on a future trip to the Colorado Springs area.
Thanks!

end of summer vacation
Beautiful home. Very large and set up perfectly inside for a family. There are board games even. Very clean and well maintained. Close to everything. We even saw a black bear! That was the highlight of our trip. There are a lot of stairs up to the property and my mom had a hard time. I think that is something that is important to know. I don't think this in any of the info. But, we really enjoyed our stay.

The house on the side of a mountain!
It was a very good place to stay, very clean. The owner was very responsive to our request to stay. It is a long way up the mountain to the house -- and for an older person, because of the many stairs, it could be very difficult. But the view was great! Very family oriented. We thorough enjoyed our stay.
