Moon Ranch offers a large bonus room for media, books, adult and kid games or taking in morning coffee by large view windows. There's a full-size desk. Strongest Wifi in our rural area with Mesh Network. We have some fun outdoor surprises to entertain kids. Each room furnished with memory foam beds. The outdoor area is tranquil and set among the natural landscape that provides a perfect backdrop for beautiful sunsets.

You'll see some one-of-kind details, from the live-edge floating shelves and mantle, to the handmade iron sconces over the wood burning stove and the custom hanging soffit over the countertop. The bathroom wood vanity was hand-carved from a butcher block found in an antique shop in the central valley. This is a 5 acre property that used to serve as a horse ranch.

Little Moon Carriage House is a sweet cottage that offers a balcony off the kitchen. It is in the traditional carriage-house style where the main living is upstairs.

NOTE: Little Moon offers an a/c wall unit upstairs and downstairs for warmer months and radiant/electric heaters for warmth during the cooler months. Wifi can be spotty in the cottage. There is no television in the cottage (only main house).

For this booking, you will have access to the entire main house AND carriage house which share all outdoor amenities. To book ONLY Moon Ranch (the main house) or see more reviews of Moon Ranch, go to: https://airbnb.com/h/moonranch-mariposa https://airbnb.com/h/moonranch-mariposa

By booking only Moon Ranch automatically blocks off Little Moon Carriage House (i.e. no other party can book the Carriage House at the same time as your stay).

The surrounding landscape is rustic in nature and provides for a beautiful backdrop to the often seen, beautiful sunset views.

We give our guests privacy but are available by app, text, email or phone anytime. We take pride in providing our guests a great stay.

A lovely scenic drive into Yosemite National Park. Located in between the west gate and south gate. Just 33.9 miles to the park entrance and 45 miles to the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center from the west gate.

Mariposa, its name is Spanish for "butterfly", after the flocks of monarchs seen overwintering there by early explorers. The town of Mariposa, first settled in 1849, is the southernmost in the Gold Rush chain of towns. The streets follow the original street grid laid out by John C. Fremont in 1850. Several disastrous early fires convinced settlers to rebuild with stone, brick and adobe. Consequently, many of today's existing structures in the historic downtown had been built by the late eighteen fifties, with most of the remaining ones completed by nineteen hundred. Because they have always been in use, the old buildings haven't had to be restored or recreated.

Change has come gracefully to Mariposa. Mariposa has retained the small town charm of a bygone era, so you won't see strip malls or chain stores, and Mariposa remains one of a handful of California towns without a stop light.

Our property is a 6 minute drive into the historic town of Mariposa. You'll find a full service grocery store, a health food store, bars, ice cream shop, restaurants & diners, retail shops, wine shops, olive oil tasting room and even a community park and public pool. So much to explore in Mariposa!

For a hassle-free trip, into Yosemite, consider using the park n' ride in town ; hop onto YARTS into the park. Call to confirm service is operational.

-Accommodates up to 12 total people (including children). 8 in main house and 4 in carriage house. A minimum of 1 adult MUST occupy the carriage house. DO NOT leave children alone, especially overnight.
-Being in the mountains you should expect spotty phone signals. Before arrival, consider contacting your mobile phone provider and ask Wifi Calling be switched on for better phone service. Otherwise iOS FaceTime and iOS FaceTime Audio is an option.
-Landline available for emergencies and local calls only.

Tall weeds all around the two houses! Could not use the yard because of the weeds! There was a pizza left in the oven! Air conditioner not cool enough to cool down the house. Mold in the closet of the first bedroom down the hall. The fire extinguisher outside was out of date! The outside furniture was dirty and the patio was dirty. We felt that there was a fire danger to the area. Catherine Allen. 408-612-1450
