While the property appeared appealing in photographs and boasted a spacious interior with evidence of substantial initial upgrades, the lack of maintenance was extremely evident. The kitchen facilities were largely unusable, lacking essential cookware such as functional pans, cooking oil, or even basic seasoning like salt. The outdoor grill was also in disrepair, as was the sliding door. The patio area was not inviting, covered in a thick layer of pollen and dust. The state of the laundry room was appalling, with a noticeable flooding issue. The house's cleanliness was subpar, as the rugs hadn't been vacuumed for an extended period and dust had accumulated. The lack of insect screens on any of the windows was a further drawback. The worst issue, however, was the malfunctioning stove design which constantly emitted gas, causing a pervasive gas odor throughout the house. This required us to keep the windows open, especially at night. Alarmingly, we even experienced a gas leak from one of the burners at one point, which was only discovered due to the strong gas smell. Attempts to reach out to the service email provided yielded no response until the day we vacated the property, three days later. Considering the price paid, better accommodations could have certainly been found. As with any lodging, it can be hit or miss, but this particular experience was undeniably a miss.

This was a lovely location and very centrally located to hiking and sledding. The beds were comfy. The parking was ample. However, the house seemed like it had once been more put together. All the games in the game cupboard were missing the majority of their pieces, there were no serving bowls except ones with holes, the kitchen lacked salt or oil but had odd items like baby food, there was no sponge for dishes (there is one now that we bought and left), the whisk fell apart in our hands, the saucepans were rusty and fried on bottom, the cutting board built into the cupboards was cracked and allowed crumbs to fall all over the floor, many of the sleds were broken and we had to buy our own ping pong balls to play. It felt like whoever the caretaker of the home is, they are not replacing items as they wear out so a once wonderful home is losing its shine.

Great Mountain Getaway!
Great Mountain Getaway!
Had such a fun weekend with girlfriends at this cabin! Plenty of room, great beds, cute decor, fun games and fancy kitchen appliances for cooking together. We enjoyed Green Valley lake only 10 minutes away, as well as hiking trails in Children's Forest. This is a great location for groups that want to getaway to the mountains!
