Lovely quiet place, ideal for hiking and biking. Super friendly hosts.

very friendly hosts, comfy beds, room is well equipped, good location for hiking and biking; fridge in the lobby with great range of drinks to help yourself for a nightcup or when thirsty after hiking/biking. The weather being hot we didn't use the sauna. The local natural swimming pond is great, excellent water quality , nice little kiosk selling drinks and icecream, very clean place. The "Alte Mühle" next to the pond offers great food! Also Kreuzhaus (15 min by car) is a great spot for food.

just a personal preference: being a mountainbiker I'd prefer a broader range of wholegrain bread/buns for breakfast. there were some buns but only few and already taken when I came down for breakfast. Otherwise breakfast is fine.

Great location with lots do do... would love to stay there again!

Very friendly hosts, lots of information on what to do in the area, availability of Sauna / Massage, self-service drinks, ability to order bread for the next morning (or book a full breakfast)...

Rest and relaxation in Romantik Appartements

We have been going to Romantik Appartements pretty regularly for over a decade, so we were looking forward to our return. It was the first time we had been back since a change of owners, but I'm happy to say that the new owners are just as friendly and helpful as the previous ones (and we also bumped into the previous owner in the supermarket, which was a nice bonus!). It remains a quiet, relaxing place, close to woods and walks (and if the weather had been a bit better, to ski tracks). This is one of the few places that we return to regularly and we hope to continue to do so. Sankt Englmar is very quiet, but ideal for people who love being out and about in nature, and want to relax and rest away from noise and bustle. If that's you, we highly recommend the place.

As mentioned above, we love the place. The internet remains a bit slow at times, but it works OK.

Excellent place for a family holiday, highly recommended

We enjoyed our stay a lot: the property is in a beautiful and tranquil location just outside Sankt Englmar. Our room was bright and spacious with a balcony that offered a great view over the surrounding landscape. There's a small but perfectly adequate kitchenette, which is useful as there's no restaurant on site (there's a nice little place called Wirtshaus zum Waldcafé with good local food about 500 m away - open on weekends only, though). There's a small playground on site, which seemed very popular with kids, including our daughter. Rates were very reasonable, the welcome was friendly and breakfast was plentiful. If we're in the area again, we won't hesitate to return.

While we were happy that there's a playground, those on an adult getaway should note that kids can make a lot of noise there. Cards are not accepted (except for German EC debit cards), which sadly is very common everywhere in Germany.

We would recommend to everyone who likes to hike, ride bike et cetera or only want to relax!

We had a beautiful room with so much space and the location is on such a nice place on the hill. Great!

Peace and beauty in Sankt Englmar

For various reasons, we have not been to Romantik Apartments for a couple of years and it's even longer since we were there in summer. Once again, we loved it. The place is beautifully appointed, the room is fine, with amazing views from the balcony, and the owners are lovely. It is very quiet and peaceful and Sankt Englmar is really a place for people who want to get out for walks or biking. There are a number of great place to visit around too, WaldWipfelWeg, the Xperium, the summer toboggan ride, are all in walking distance. We always enjoy going to Romantik Apartments and the surrounding beauty is priceless.

Winter relaxation in the Bavarian forest

We go back every year and each year we come away wishing we could stay for longer. If you want a spacious warm apartment with a beautiful view in a very tranquil setting, with warm welcoming owners, then this is a place we cannot recommend highly enough. There is plenty of cross country skiing and walking around, and some smaller downhill runs. There are good bakers and a good little supermarket in Sankt Englmar, and other places are fairly easily accessible by car. Sankt Englmar is small and quiet, but if like us you think this is a positive, you will love it.

We love everything. The wifi was much better this year.
