The Great Escape - Penthouse 4 has its own private patio pool, with breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline, located in the exclusive Bay View Grand Marina complex, across from the Robert Von Haage golf course. It is within walking distance to Ixtapa, less than 15 minutes by taxi to the fishing village of Zihuatanejo, and 25 minutes from the Airport.
It is perfect for family gatherings or just a private 'Get-Away' to paradise!
Our 2500 sq/ft Penthouse offers unobstructed views of the ocean and your own private pool on your patio deck. Enjoy captivating views of the beaches and mountains, while sipping a cool drink on your private, secluded patio.
The Master Bedroom has a King sized bed, with its own ensuite with double sinks, large shower and sliding doors that open onto the patio. It offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, the Bay and the mountains, allowing you to enjoy incredible sunrises and sunsets.
The Second Bedroom offers a Queen size bed with full private bathroom, and beautiful westward views of the ocean.
An additional Third Bedroom faces eastward, towards the golf course, and offers sleeping for 4 with one double bed, two twin beds, and a private bathroom/shower, that also acts as the main bathroom for the Condo.
Suite doors open to the 250 sq/ft. private patio that offers an infinity swimming pool which is 4 ft deep. The patio has amazing views, with dining furniture to transform your meals into an outdoor oasis.
Our open concept kitchen, dining and entertainment areas are fantastic for hosting meals and entertaining guests. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, microwave, large fridge (with some items pre-stocked for you), a drip ground coffee maker and comes fully equipped with all the cooking and dining equipment you'll need. There is an ample supply of purified bottled water on hand for drinking and cooking with. There are grocery stores and food markets located just minutes away that make cooking at home very convenient, or you can make arrangements with us to hire a chef or caterers.
We have an in-suite laundry room with washer, dryer, iron and ironing board. Our condo has been recently upgraded to fast Wifi and is hard wired connections for the Internet, an IPOD docking station, stereo and each room has a newly installed air conditioning system. All water is purified so you can enjoy an ice cold drink any time of day.
This Penthouse is located on the 18th floor, in a 24 hour secured and monitored building. There will be a 1000 Peso deposit for your entire group, that is fully refunded after check-out. You will need to get wrist bands at the Security Gate for Guest Identification to gain access to complex amenities. They are $350 peso for each wrist band, for each guest, that is not refunded.
After checking in with Security and the Registration Desk, the entire suite, along with the beaches right out front, the common areas 2 pools, gym, hot tub, kids playroom, tennis court and massage facilities are all there for you to enjoy. There is an administrative desk and business centre. The grounds provide wonderful green lawns, two pools for adults and children, and is located right near the beach. A small snack bar, which offers drinks, appetizers and lunches, is located by the pools.

This was out 3rd stay. The condo and the property are well cared for. The staff, from security to the front desk to the restaurant are lovely and very helpful. The team managing the condo are very responive in answering any questions. The condo location is great and adjacent to the marina which has a small sundry and also a liquor store which is an easy walk. Walking home from dinner out in Ixtapa in the evening felt very safe. Recommend spending the day at La Perla at La Ropa beach and taking the boat from Play LInda to Ixtapa island. Will return again!

We enjoyed the rooftop location of this condo. Sunrises were amazing - and had many whale sightings! Close to restaurants, convenience stores, the marina. Located right on beach for daily walks!

Everything was great. Just a few comments
1. Door bell did not work
2. In main bedroom toilet paper holder ready to fall off.
3. Shower mat in shower to prevent slipping
4. Handicap rail for shower to support everyone.
5. Hot water heater went out, but maintenance fixed in a timely manner.
6. Would be nice to have a permanent fixture to hang towels.

Had aged in-laws with limited mobility stay with us. This place was great for all the family.
View was incredible. We will definitely try to stay here again.
Note: not a hit against property since lots of Mexican toilets are the same way but had to use plunger often on toilets.

This penthouse is absolutely breathtaking. The property itself is amazing. From the staff at the front desk, to the restaurant staff and amenities. The staff in the administration office are very pleasant. The view from the condo balcony is gorgeous. To sit in the privacy of your own balcony pool, listening to the ocean waves, stunning. The condo has 3 bedrooms, perfect for 6 to 8 people. Property is quiet. We loved the fact that you must go there security staff to gain access to the property. We would absolutely stay here again.

Really enjoyed the place! Very open , would be great for a family or friends. The private pool is fabulous with a great view. Very much enjoyed the location. Easy walk to the marina, and a decent walk into Ixtapa (walked by trees with many iguanas hanging out). Looking forward to our next trip!!

We had a lovely stay in the penthouse overlooking the ocean.
Ian is a super-host, and very easy to reach. It was great that he granted us an early check-in. He even got us a crib for the baby. (Thanks so much for that). It was a great help that the condo was cleaned twice a week.
We are tennis lovers and enjoyed the lovely tennis court, also enjoyed the stunning swimming pool. (I have to say it is a challenge to find an umbrella and pool chairs by the pool) Would be great if Bay View Marina can find a solution to this problem. We had a fabulous stay and would love to come back in future.

Just my husband and I stayed here. We loved having a pool on our deck. So peaceful playing our own music and no need to find a lounge chair around the community pool. A great bonding experience with a wonderful view. And added bonus was bi-weekly pool maintenance by Felix and cleaning service by Abby included with our stay. There is an on-site restaurant but you are located within walking distance to many other restaurants and shops. If you don’t want to walk, there is easy access to taxi service.

Nice beach front apartament with terrific view
Nice apartament on the 18th floor. Full ocean view from main bedroom, terrace and pool. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Great linens and towels.
The apartment needs an update and some maintenance. Really old refrigerator with a rust stain and some bad smells from the kitchen sink. Also, they should take cleaning and sanitizing much more seriously, specially in the middle of a pandemic.
Other than that, it's a good apartment to spend some time with family and friends. The building is great, beachfront, it has adult and kid's pool. A nice cafe restaurant with a really good quality.

The most magnificent view ever!
We cannot say enough about the breathtaking view from this condo. The outdoor space and pool just made our vacation. The beach was fantastic, the condo building and amenities were excellent. Highly recommend. We only wish we could’ve stayed another week or more! Next time.

Fabulous vacation!
We have been to Ixtapa many times and always stayed in a hotel. This year we went with our 2 adult daughters and decided it would be fun to have a condo to stay in. This condo was awesome and we loved staying at this end of the beach-much quieter! The condo is well decorated and the cleaners came mid week and did a fabulous job. Glynnis is really great at staying in touch and the onsite people are very helpful-we will definately return.

What's not to love?
Arriving at the onset of the NCAA tournament with three of our UWMadison grads, the setting couldn't have been better. We were able to turn the tv toward the veranda (turned off the AC of course), plug a computer into the big screen tv and watch the basketball games while sitting in the dipping pool. Heaven!!
Check in went smoothly. We lunched at the BVG restaurant, loaded up on cervezas at the Marina liquor store half a block away and watched basketball while enjoying the beautiful view, hot weather and sunshine.
The bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen were perfect. Beds were really comfortable, showers were great, closets were plentiful, books were available to read, kitchen appliances were up to date and easy to use, and on top of that, the condo was immaculate . Loved the huge table for meals and games. (The only thing I would add, would be a light over the sink - but that wasn't even a problem as it's lighter longer and really not an issue.)
We taxied to the "Commercial" to buy groceries a couple of times. Their bolilo rolls are made fresh everyday and are outstanding - perfect for a quick sandwich when all you want to do is be on the beach. Later in the week we learned of the "Mercado". This is the place to shop.
Every kind of fish imaginable laid out on ice and filleted upon request. Fresh fruits and vegetables, chicken, eggs, etc... Fabulous place to go if you like to cook!!
We cooked most evenings but enjoyed, family-owned, El Arrayon in Zihuatanejo and the Smoke Shack in Ixtapa. Ixtapa is close enough to walk but busses and taxis are available in front of the condo.
And I must mention the beach.... Gorgeous! Not only for walking but the waves were huge!!
If you're a pool lover, this is your POOL! A six inch deep perimeter allows you to be on your stomach watching the waves or on your back sunning. It's the best! It's even big and long enough for laps. There are plenty of lounge chairs, umbrellas and tables on the pool deck and on the beach.
So happy we found your condominium on VRBO. We had a fabulous vacation!! THANKS!

Superb penthouse

Beautiful Penthouse with a great view
We stayed at BVG Marina for the second year in a row, and will definitely be back there next year. The PH4 South penthouse unit was great! Spacious, nice well stocked kitchen (although cooking was not our priority) with fridge/freezer with ICE MAKER, 3 nice sized bedrooms all with their own private bathroom with shower. The view is one of the best in the complex. Being on the 18th floor was not an inconvenience at all, with the elevator service being quite fast. The bedrooms were in 3 opposite corners of the unit, so there was good privacy. The master had direct access to the main balcony, and a second had it's own small balcony (which had the best sunset view). The plunge pool on the balcony was a nice place to cool off with a beer/cocktail at the end of a long day on the beach. The living area was large and had plenty of comfortable seating and a nice flat screen TV and DVD player. Nice washer/drier in a separate quiet room, and plenty of hot water. Nice air conditioning to counter the 90 degree outdoor temps. The pool area at BVGM is large, very well kept, and has plenty of loungers and umbrellas. It is not a hotel, so no screaming kids running around. The staff at the front desk, the pool/beach area, and the restaurant were great. Always remembering you and your favorite food and drinks. Service was pleasant, fast and frequent. Glynnis was excellent to rent from. She was always available with quick responses to any questions/concerns we had about the facility. Checking in and out was extremely fast and easy. From the first contact to rent her property through the entire stay, she made everything easy. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wishes to have a great time on a great beach in Ixtapa.

beautiful condo!
This was our second visit to Ixtapa. What a wonderful condo! We were nervous about being so far North on the strip, but taxis are so reasonably priced, it made no difference. View is incredible, restaurant prices phenomenally low, the liquor cabinet was even full! We loved staying here, would return in a heartbeat.
One thing that could improve - we waited over half an hour for management to get us keys on arrival. Next time I'd call ahead to make sure they're ready for us.

Bay View Grand Repeat!
Seven adults had a very enjoyable stay in this Penthouse suite. The view and amenities are second to none on a beautiful stretch of beach. The three bedrooms are large each with their own bathroom with ample space for a group of up to 8 adults. Although we didn't cook the kitchen is well equip with everything you need for breakfast, lunch and snacks. We enjoyed numerous delicious restaurants each evening for dinner. We ate pretty much all our lunches at the poolside restaurant with great service and tasty food. The large infinite pool is the nicest we've seen at any of the many resorts we've travelled to. We would recommend this condo and hope to return in the future.

BVGM
We rented this penthouse unti for a week from 12/20/14 to 12/27/14 . The owners were very nice from the get go and communication was excellent . We arrived a bit late but was greeted by onsite manager Rik who checked us in . The condo is as advertised on the top floor of the south tower . All the rooms looked great and the frige was full of beer and pops and 5-6 bottles of red wine was offered at no cost . A very nice touch . We found the unit clean and settled into our rooms (5 of us) . The Decore is very adequate and the unit has all that you need to cook ,wash and clean .
The pool in the terrace is a nice feature , although the terrace is a bit congested with furniture and plants .
The BVGM has nice amenities such as fitness center and restaurant and is really close to everything ixtapa has to offer .
The few problems with the water heater was addressed immediately by the maintenance and Rik , even though it took a several tries . We always felt that everyone cared and went out thier way to make sure it was corrected . We communicated by emails and phone and the response was always quick . We defiantly recommended this property and will return again . Thanks for a fantastic stay !

Great Place, Great Time!
My wife, son and I stayed at the penthouse in April 2014. We were hoping for a truly great place for our first trip to Ixtapa. The penthouse exceeded even our high hopes. The listing description and photos were accurate - the home is a very nice three bedroom penthouse with very good views of the beach and beyond. The highlight for us was the small pool on the deck. Our son was ill for a couple of days while we were there, and the pool and deck made our experience a pleasant one. We didn't feel as though we were losing precious vacation time, because the deck and pool were a perfect place to spend the day.
The Bay View Grand Marina is a nice, well-kept facility. The pool area and beach are nice. The facility is definitely at the quiet end of the beach (at least in April), which provides for a nice stretch of beach to walk before getting into a high activity zone. We were pleasantly surprised by the on-site restaurant. We had some breakfasts, lunches and dinners there, and, while the menu is limited, had good food at very reasonable prices.
The neighborhood worked well for us. Busses were easy to use, particularly for getting around the hotel strip in Ixtapa - we used taxis to get to Zihua and back.
All in all, we had a great time at the penthouse and are planning to return. That is unusual for us, as we usually do not return to the same hotel or condo, even if we like it. This one is the rare exception. The penthouse is that nice, and our experience there was that great.

Great place, wonderful time
We rented this condo for three couples on our recent visit to Ixtapa, and had a wonderful time. We've been to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo many times and have stayed at a few different places, though most often the "old" Bayview Grand, which we have always loved. This unit was beautiful and met all of our expectations. It had all of the things we needed, from pots and pans to tupperware, corkscrews, toaster, etc. The bedding, furniture, and everything in the condo was very nice and in nice condition. Given my experience with travel in tiny Ixtapa, I guess I knew what to expect and was not disappointed. The biggest thing I can say is that I really appreciated the communication I shared with the owner. When using VRBO, you have to feel like you can trust the owner, and I felt that trust and was not disappointed. She responded promptly again and again with all of my questions, and worked with me when I needed something. That alone is worth a lot to me. When we arrived, our plane was about an hour late so Erik the property manager simply left the key with the guard station so we didn't have to wait around to track him down, which we really appreciated. We will absolutely return to IZ and would absolutely consider staying in this unit again if it were available. Thanks for a great time!
