The property itself is good, and it is clean. The area let's it down

Initially when we entered the property we were happy with it. Lots of room for us 2 and nice and clean.The first night the problems started!The neighbours were making noise all night and at 4am the police were all over the street out the front while locals screamed at eachother.This made me uneasy.We went for a walk in the area and quickly realised this is not a good area for tourists.We were noticed by lots of locals, beggers asking for money or smokes.The next morning we went to the local supermarket, the girl in charge followed us, then gestered to her male friend who was stood outside to come in, he then stalked us in the supermarket.He did not work in this place!When we were leaving, and he eyeballed us I made sure he knew I saw him.We went home immediately and checked all locks on the doors and windows.Many of the windows do not lock, but luckily the shutters close. Except the first bedroom.This room has a balcony and the door does not lock and the shutters do not work!You can see by the door it has been forced in before.When I contacted the host she told me to go to the police.And say what?? Your doors do not lock fully? Absolutely no understanding from her. I felt extremely unsafe in this property and left for a safe hotel. I am an experienced traveller, I have stayed in hundreds of places and have not come across this . (I have video evidence of all issues which the property denied) I opened a dispute with booking and they said the property has since fixed the issues. I am glad if they have. This place is NOT worth the €357 we paid for the few nights. The area is very run down. Stay at Gandia Playa! Much safer. The host was not helpful with our issues of safety. Zero compensation offered for us, even when we had to book somewhere else.We left the place spotless as we always do, but they didn't not deserve so much respect but that is just our nature. I will never travel to Gandia again
