About this house rental

Sandy Feet Retreat is a rare 4 bedroom 2 Bath Beach Home in historic Pass Christian a block from the beach. It is simply perfect location for your group to use as a launching spot for vacation activities!

For over a century, Pass Christian has been the town where folks from New Orleans came to escape the heat of the summer. Now, a new generation has discovered the beauty, quiet life-style, and escape that is Pass Christian! Sandy Feet Retreat is a short walk to the beach on the eastern side of "The Pass", as locals refer to it.

Lovingly restored to fit the family's needs, this home was chosen to be their escape and they are sharing it with you!

It has been cleaned, painted, furnished, and new sod laid in the large yard in the Spring of 2021 and is now ready for guests.

The living room has comfortable seating and a large screen TV for streaming your most recent binge series. You can gather there and plan the day's activities or simply decide to just hang in the shady back yard or walk to the beach and spend the day being lazy on the sand beach and dipping your toes into the warm gulf waters.

The dining area is adjacent to the fully equipped kitchen where you can cook your catch of the day while seeing who can tell the biggest fish story! Or, if the fishing wasn't successful, simply purchase from the boats some fresh shrimp and have a shrimp boil. For those meals where you wish not to cook, there are a myriad of restaurants and pubs within just a few minutes drive that offer all manner of food varieties and styles.

The bedrooms are configured with a king bed in the master with its own private bath and with a flat screen TV. The remaining 3 bedrooms offer a queen bed and two bedrooms with 2 twin beds each. The second bath is located adjacent to these bedrooms.

The large rear yard is completely fenced with a privacy fence. There is a large patio where you can sit and enjoy the evening gulf breeze. The owner has provided a cover for the rear porch, so you can escape the sun or rain while still enjoying the huge, nice yard. AND, there is a new BBQ grill that has just been added.

As previously mentioned, the Coast offers a ton of activities for all ages and group sizes. The Coast consists of a 26-mile fully public beach area connecting Biloxi, Gulfport, Long Beach, and Pass Christian. The quaint towns of Ocean Springs on the east and Bay St Louis on the west are bookends for the Coast and offer many tasty restaurants, pubs, boutiques, art studios, and historic areas.

Just a few of the many things you can do is visit one of the following: a brand new Aquarium, a huge model train museum, a NASA space museum with hands-on activities, the Mardi Gras museum, The Maritime Museum, and Lynn Meadows Discovery Center-a nationally recognized children's activity center. Or, you can go golfing, boating, sailing, charter fishing, pier fishing, wade fishing, visit the Gulf Islands Water Park for a fun day of water activities, and take the Ship Island Ferry for a day trip to historic Ship Island and its wonderfully blue water and Civil War Fort. Then there are dolphin watching trips, a paddle wheel river boat excursion, Biloxi Schooner sailing trips, outlet shopping, boutique shopping, antique shopping, a myriad of artist studios, a presidential home and presidential library, beautiful historic homes along the beachfront, and 26 miles of almost uninterrupted sand beach with views all the way to the horizon. The beach is public, has free access for the 26 miles, and has an unlimited view of the gulf as very limited building is allowed on the beach side so that everyone can enjoy the view. This protection of the view is unlike anything along the beaches on the Gulf and the Atlantic seaboard. It is one reason that the Mississippi Gulf Coast is so special.

Sandy Feet Retreat is the perfect location for your vacation where you can relax or enjoy all the Coast has to offer. Make this your sand beach getaway and see why Sandy Feet Retreat is the place for you!

The property was OK, but would not stay at same house again. The showers were not clean. Hair and dirt had to be rinsed down before using them. The bath mats were dirty and needed to be washed. There were cobwebs throughout the house. Other than that, the house was decently clean. Our main complaint was that the house was hot. The air conditioner was not strong enough to actually cool the house. That part was miserable because we were out in the heat during the day and really wanted to come back to a cool house to relax and sleep. We reported the air conditioning problem and were told that they'd had trouble with the air conditioning in the past. The unit needs to replaced6 with a

This property is spacious, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable, with a great backyard. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only a half block from the beautiful white sand beach. We definitely recommend this as a great place to spend a vacation.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was well stocked with kitchen supplies and towels. There were also some essentials like hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, trash bags, etc. it is in a convenient location to a store and the beach/highway. I did find hair in my shower, so I cleaned behind the cleaning service. There were a few cobwebs as well. That is a bummer given you are charged a cleaning fee with booking. The A/C was also not functioning. Fortunately the weather was cool and this was not a problem. The ceiling fans also helped. I called the “non-emergency line” but we didn’t not hear back from them. I did not try to call the emergency line. Hopefully the property managers will correct the issue and your stay will be even better.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Arrived in Pass Christian following an 8 1/2 hour drive from Tampa, FL at 4:00 pm. Per the rental agreement, I was to be provided the door access code prior to arrival date, which never happened. Following multiple emails, messages via VRBO app, and finally a phone call while on the way there, we were messaged the access code at 4:21 pm - I would like more confidence that I can access my rental at the end of a long drive. Cloth barstools and couch (beige/white) are dirty and need a good cleaning. The guest bathtub would not drain, so I went to Walmart and got Draino so the kids could take a shower. Baseboards were dirty throughout. Everything was CRAMPED - you cannot fully open the door in the master bathroom because it hits the toilet. I pity those who left reviews raving about the comfort of the beds - it was like laying on a lumpy bag of pudding. The neighbor not only had a karaoke birthday party until 10 pm one night where his guests parked halfway in our driveway, but also decided 8:30 pm was the perfect time to mow his yard. The backyard was good sized and provided an area for the kids to run around. The location was good providing easy access to Beach street. The prior guests did not take out the trash as they were supposed to, so it smelled horrible, we took care of it. I won’t be back, and would not recommend it.

Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
Con: When we arrived at 3pm, the temperature in the home was 80°, the thermostat was set at 74. It literally took the rest of the evening & all of the next day to get the home to drop in temp. We set the thermostat to 69° & Within a 24 hour time period the temp had only dropped down to 78° at the lowest. Thankfully we brought fans. Pros: The home was very clean, well stocked with just about everything you could possibly need, & beds were so comfy, also less than a minute from the beach & Walmart.

We really enjoyed our stay. I would say that it is more than a block from the beach. Closet door fell off glides, first time opening it.
