Leave all the hustle and bustle behind and return to a slower pace of life, the island life. Our Hamilton Cove 11-52 condo is located in the exclusive, gated Hamilton Cove community. It's tucked away in a cove next to the main town of Avalon. You'll enjoy palm trees and an expansive view of the Pacific Ocean from the living space, bedroom and deck of our condo. At the horizon, you can see Los Angeles and in the foreground is a private beach. The community recreation center of Hamilton Cove has a pool, hot tub and fitness center for guests to use. The community also offers a playground, sand volleyball court, 18-hole putting green, tennis courts, croquet lawn, basketball hoop and picnic area for your enjoyment.
Enter the front door of your vacation home and feel the sea breeze. The open floor plan allows you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean all day long. The living room has a 50 inch flat screen TV and a priceless ocean view. There is dining seating for 5. The kitchen has everything you need for eating in with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops. The balcony is a delightful spot to have breakfast and watch the sunrise. Spend your evenings grilling dinner on the Weber BBQ provided for you on the balcony. And while the sun sets on the other side of the island, it is still incredible to enjoy the beauty of dusk.
About 22 miles south-southwest of Los Angeles, Catalina Island is the southernmost island of California's Channel Islands. The Island is made up of two towns, the incorporated city of Avalon on the east end, and the unincorporated village Two Harbors on the west end. The island is just 22 miles long and 8 miles across. Outside of the two towns is a rugged wilderness of majestic beauty under the stewardship of the Catalina Island Conservancy. You can take a passenger ferry from Newport Beach, Dana Point, Long Beach or San Pedro.

Our kits include: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, linens, towels, kitchen sponges, dish soap, laundry detergent and fabric softener, dishwasher soap when applicable, trash bags, either Keurig coffee makers with k-cups or standard coffee makers, extra blankets, sometimes extra pillows, extra sheets-for sleeper sofas, hair dryers, ironing boards, kitchens fully stocked-enough for max occupancy with some extra settings, toasters, some waffle makers, blenders, tool kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, co2/fire detectors, and most homes have heat available.
While on vacation, we want our guests to enjoy their vacation to the fullest and we feel in order for our guests to do this, they should also feel informed. Our emails serve to educate you on your vacation rental home, the surrounding area, responsibilities, what to expect and how to get in touch with us. Additionally, the golf cart must be fueled up at the end of your stay, golf cart must be parked in designated spot, and cover put back on golf cart.
Please be advised: Day guests and visitors are NO longer permitted at Hamilton Cove. The HOA will not allow guests more than maximum occupancy of the unit.

If a guest books with us directly or on VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy.
To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest's face and holding either a Driver's License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.
This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.

This was the worst stay I have ever had. Upon arrival the property smelled of wood lacquer, must have just been lacquered from the front door to deck railing. Which we dismissed as a maintenance item, but thought it should have been disclosed. We found the golf cart dirty and uncovered. So we had to wipe it down. The dishwasher was falling out of the cabinets. The master bedroom had poor water pressure and was luke warm at best. The patio furniture was broken and unusable. Property was dirty and out dated. We proceeded to find the second bedroom door lock broken from the outside, so if you are in the bedroom and shut the door, you better hope someone else is the house to let you out. we found ants in the kitchen, in the toaster, blender and coffee pot. It wasn't much at first but by the night it had taken over the entire second bedroom bed and bathroom. They were everywhere and covered the bed, and the only solution offered was ant spray, which we were told the cleaning crew would come and take care of. which never happened. it was so bad we had to leave and stay at a hotel. I would never recommend staying here..

Absolutely the views, and location of this unit. It was in it's own private neighborhood and very private. Tucked in a cove a short drive from the city of Avalon. The golf cart is a must, and we were happy it came with the room. The communication was very good. The room had a few maintenance issues that we forwarded to them so they could addressed. I would most definitely stay in this neighborhood again.

By far, Hamilton cove is where you want to stay on Catalina. It is away from the town but close enough you are not left out. It's a simple/short golf cart ride back to town with terrific views. The complex is clean, beautiful, has all the amenities you need, and the beach/water access is better than anywhere else. We snorkeled easily right off the cove dock where there was a kelp forrest and tons of fish - great spot within walking distance of the condo. The condo is in a great location with beautiful views and looks just like the pictures. The owner/agency was very engaged, friendly, and very helpful. We did have an issue with the dishwasher and a leaky toilet however nothing that impacted our stay. We informed the agency and they assured they would address. Having a golf cart at the property was absolutely key. What a great addition and allowed us to go all over Avalon.
I would absolutely stay at this property again and highly recommend

Everything that the other reviews specified is accurate. The convenience of access to golf cart, location and amenities were a 10/10. The issue ⚠️ ANTS. Both bathrooms and bedrooms have an ant problem. My husband and daughter both could not get a decent night’s sleep due to Ant's crawling on them in the beds. We contacted the property manager who offered to come and address the problem but we choose not to be interrupted as we were only staying 2 nights in total and based on the amount of ant traps located throughout the property - Ant's were clearly a known issue. My compliant is that this ongoing ant problem was not disclosed to us. For the amount of rules (of which we could complied with every single one) you would think that there would have been a heads up notice about the ant problem.

There is no other place I would rather stay then Hamilton Cove. It's clean, private and feels like it's on little oasis. I love the peaceful atmosphere it provides and yet your just a short golf cart ride away from downtown Avalon.

This was so dreamy! So fun to use a golf cart like a car. Hiking in the hills and kayaking in the ocean gave us plenty of exercise to.we’ll be back!

Overall it was good. Some of the doors have trouble locking and cleaning crew was still in the property after the allotted check in time.

Awesome location, with breath taking views. Only downside, was not stocked well with amenities (soap, cleaning products, etc). However, would definitely stay here again.

Update: Finally got a call from mgt. co. Promised a fix. I had to call twice. Still awaiting resolution. Sent to management company: I was impressed with your business until my friend & I walked into the door of the condo we rented for a large sum of $. Most upsetting were calls we made in order to remedy the issues only to be on hold for 15 minutes at a time and then sent to voicemail. We did receive a call back twice of the approximately 5 calls. Sent this prior to leaving the property on September 21st. Have received no response.
1. We arrived and there were no keys in the open lock box and no go golf cart.
2. We entered the open condo to find it had not been cleaned, linens had not been changed, towels were in the dryer, and there were no promised supplies.
3. We called your number and the cleaner's number and received no answer. The cleaner's voicemail was full.
4. After over an hour of waiting and close to dinner with no food because we had no way to drive into town, we were told that there was a mistake with our arrival date. Don't know whose fault that was and at this point do not care.
5. Cleaner arrived with keys and golf cart and 2 cleaners. She promised a bottle of our favorite wine which we never received. They stayed and cleaned while we went for groceries.
6. The condo has ants in both bathrooms and the kitchen. We used what little was left of the ant cleaner and threw away a lot of fruit.
7. The directions for the use of the TV's were totally wrong. Finally, Chela, the cleaner showed us how to use them, but still were not able to receive all TV services.
8. There were several bulbs burned out and they were not replaced while we were there despite making you aware and the cleaner.
7. The living room table was missing. We did find the top of it under one of the beds.
8. The lounge chairs on the balcony are stained on both sides.
9. One of the high-top chairs on the balcony is broken and dangerous with protruding metal.
10. Glass missing from the sconce on the balcony.
11. And then there's the grill. In an email sent to you, I included several pictures of the grill that was unusable. It was the most filthy, disgusting thing I've ever seen. Nevertheless, I attempted to clean it so that the burners would work. We had to light it with a lighter that was beside it and there were only flames from the 2 front little holes in the grill. No one could ever use this grill. I'd be happy to provide the pictures again.

The location of the property is awesome. Away from the center of town. Quiet. Scenic. And the property has incredible views. Right on the water. Fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. But the property is not well maintained. One toilet didn’t work properly. None of the windows seemed to open or close properly. There was a major ant problem. We had to spray every day to try to control them. One of the bedrooms had no ceiling fan or portable fan and got uncomfortably warm at night (there is no air conditioning). The property lacks kitchen equipment and beach equipment and furniture as compared to other vacation rentals we’ve stayed at. Overall, it’s okay. We’d stay at the complex again but probably wouldn’t rent this unit again unless improvements are made.

Not as advertised
Property had lots of cleaning issues. BEWARE: information given says no AC but ceiling fans in both bedrooms and living room. Small guest room did not have ceiling fan, and window was broken so couldn't open. It was cracked about 1" open, but stayed that way because crank mechanism was broken. ALSO: NO cell reception in or around condo complex unless your cell plan is with Verizon wireless. Information given says there is a land line with free calls in the US, but there is not one currently in the unit. We had to take golf cart to Desconso Beach club to use their internet to let family know we arrived safely. Complex is VERY noisy - upstairs sounds are very loud in the unit; kids run around unattended until after 11:00 pm. Beds have very poor mattresses, so we took turns sleeping on the couch as it is very comfortable. Overall was very disappointed in property. The view is fantastic! Very Accommodating
This property was everything that was advertised. I have given 5 stars because I loved my time there. I must mention a couple of things in case you are a stickler. These things may bug you but I got past it. BBQ was broken, Coffee table was missing, there was a miscommunication about when to unit would be cleaned prior to us moving in. On the cleaning delay, I must say, the property manager bent over backwards to make it right. And, that's why I am giving 5 stars across the board.

Breathtaking Views and Experience

Beautiful
This was our first time to Catalina. We went for a few days during a trip to southern Cali to visit family. We were so glad we took the trip to the island. The location/property was perfect. We've stayed at many VRBO properties and this one was on the top of our list. You can't get much closer to the ocean than this. We hope to come back some day!
The master bedroom has doors that open to the balacony and ocean. It was so nice going to sleep and waking up with the sounds of the ocean.
We had a few little glitches during our stay - most of which were not the fault of the property or management. However they were helpful and responsive. That includes the housekeeper Chella, who saved the day! The prior travelers left the wrong key so we didn't have a key for the golf cart upon check in. Chella ran down to town to get us one in no time.
I will say - don't count on the grill. It is falling apart inside and either needs some new parts or needs to be replaced. I did talk to the management about this.

Best trip!
This property was as described in terms of location and amenities. It met all of our needs. It was very clean. We loved waking up and having coffee on the balcony overlooking the breathtaking view. We will definitely visit Catalina island and aim to stay at this place.

Girls Getaway
My two friends and I escaped to Catalina to take some time from very stressful jobs. We had a blast and the condo was great, clean and comfortable and the golf cart was a blast! The only thing I would point out is that the doors to the patio stuck and we’re hard to open but that may be due to the swelling of the wood. Otherwise, our stay was wonderful.

Amazing Island Get Away!
This was a beautiful property right on the ocean's edge on Catalina. The view from the deck was AMAZING. We spent long mornings and evenings out there watching seals and dolphins swim by. We also enjoyed the various boats coming and going, especially the fancy yachts!! It was great to have the golf cart to explore town and make it so easy to get around!! The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking breakfasts, and then we enjoyed the restaurants in town for other meals. We really had a great time and hope to return in the future!!

The Best of Catalina
We were so pleased with everything at this beautiful property and all the communication from its managers. The directions and parameters were clear and it made for a stress-free vacation. Very roomy for 2 couples and the fully-stocked kitchen allowed us to cook all our meals and invite family for the day. The balcony view of the water provided the most glorious views and a sense of privacy. Finally, the golf cart was reliable and so appreciated to take in the island, go shopping, walk downtown, and then easily retreat back to the quiet beauty of our balcony. It was truly the perfect stay.

Feels like Europe
What a peaceful location. We slept with the doors open and listened to the waves softly put us to sleep. Excellent location and view. The condo came stocked with everything we needed and had comfortable furniture. The Golf Cart looks brand new. We would highly recommend this unit to anyone.

This property has an amazing view of the water. Everything was clean. Check in process was seamless and the golf cart made getting around town very easy.

There is probably not a better location on Catalina, if you want an ocean view and ocean sounds. As for the condo itself, the beds were very comfortable and the furniture nice. The deck is great and suitably furnished. The kitchen is modern and generally well appointed, though missing a few items that would have made our cooking a bit easier, such as a cookie or baking sheet.If I ever go back to Avalon, I would want the same rental.
