Fabulous. Didn't want to leave!

Ricardo and Debrah are great hosts, and this place is welcoming, comfortable, relaxing, really pretty. The pool area is beautiful, the sunset from the rooftop terrace is fabulous, the beach is 5 mins walk. Any information you need, getting to points of interest or getting a take away, you can ask. Hosts also speak english. What else? Our room was great, breakfast was fabulous, WiFi excellent, really appreciated the secure off-street parking. Loved it here, wish we could have stayed longer!

Superb

This is a beautiful property. The pool and outdoor seating areas are lovely and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The best pillows I've come across in a long time! The breakfast is incredible and the hosts are very kind. There is not a lot in the area, but the beach is just a short walk away.

The host and hostess made us feel at home on our own floor with a gorgeous pool below!

The breakfast was delicious and healthy with fresh fruit and homemade omelets or scrambled eggs, varying daily! The location was close to Chocolatera- amazing westernmost tip of Ecuador where the Pacific Ocean spans almost 300 degrees and you can see Blue-footed Boobies and Sea Lions! It’s a short two-hour drive from Guayaquil Airport and from Montanita - cool coastal ceviche vibing town.

Due to a longer than usual rainy season, a few dirt roads had large divots for dodging.

Everything was perfect! A great place to relax. Ricardo and his wife go above and beyond to make you feel at home, the beds are super comfy AND THE BREAKFAST… the best we had in a long time. THANK YOU!

Posada Estrella / Lone Star Inn has the welcome feel of the big heart of Texas ⭐️

I enjoyed my one-night stay at Posada Estrella B&B. I did not go to the nearby beach — I was driving back to Guayaquil and needed a rest stop. I booked it based on other stellar reviews and value. The room was very comfortable, it had a chest of drawers, a small refrigerator, AC, and toiletries. The linens and towels were soft and in excellent condition, and the mattress was good. The guest rooms are on the first and second floors (by a narrow staircase). On the first story, there is a sofa lounge and TV area, and the room I stayed in is on the top floor with a terrace view of the neighborhood. Further away a glimpse of the coast is visible in between buildings (not what I would call a seaside view). The hosts (Ricardo and DJ, and their three doggies) were super friendly, they shared restaurant recommendations, and we spent some time chatting about our travel experiences. The ground floor has a well-maintained medium size pool with gorgeous murals of marine life and rainforest animals. I appreciated that I could keep my rental car inside the small garage. The breakfast was very filling, with delicious fruits and I received some mangoes to take with me. Thanks for the hospitality!

The stairs to the terrace rooms are a bit steep (more so when carrying bags). Although the place feels very safe, with gated parking and multiple security measures, getting there is a bit out of the way from the main streets. The posada is located within a residential area currently in development, with many empty lots, construction, and unpaved streets. I would not like to walk there, so a car (or taxi) is much needed.

Best place to stay in Salinas

I travel full time and have stayed in thousands of hotels. This is easily one i will remember. The owners are great people that have created a very unique small hotel. From the memory foam mattresses to the beautiful murals and the amazing breakfasts everything is clean and comfortable. You truly get more than you pay for and im already looking forward to returning.

Exceptional

The staff was really kind and helpful. All expectations were exceeded, the building has some amazing common areas and really makes you feel at home. The breakfast was superb. And one of the highlights for me was the amazing mattress that the owners brought in from the US.

If I could give 11, i would love to give that! our stay there was just perfect! the owner- couple is just awesome. they made us feel welcome straight away! she baked some delicious cupcakes what was the perfect welcome-gift! they gave us a bigger room then this what we actually booked without any extra charges. what was super kind! the room was amazing. the beds were the most comfortable beds we ever had in Southamerica! the facilities were extraordinary (there is a TV room with netflix and games). the pool I clean and big. and the rooftop is great too! they both made sure that we always had everything we need and even let us borrow their bikes! and don't miss the breakfast! everyday was something different and it was just unbelievable delicious! Great value for the money! we would have loved to stay more! there is a beach in walking distance and everything else you can get with a taxi in less then 10 minutes (2 dollar for the taxi).

It was a wonderful stay!

Excellent ☺️ stay. I look forward to staying again in the future. Where do I begin, there aren't enough words to describe how wonderful the experience of staying at Posada Estrella was. You won't find more caring, kind host,. I was treated like a friend a good friend. They will drop everything else to attend to your needs. The accomodations are so beautiful and relaxing, felt like a resort.. wonderful breakfast wondering people all around excellent .. very special couple/hosts.

My favorite place in Ecuador and worth twice what I paid.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The owners are expats and so a welcome respite to the Spanish-challenged. They’re also willing to take the time to answer questions, offer advice, etc. Free WiFi and secure parking (although the latter is limited). My room was extremely comfortable - great mattress, hot water, a mini fridge, etc. And the view from the seating area outside my room was spectacular. The free breakfast every morning was the best food I had in Ecuador. They have a beautiful pool next to the dining area. I didn’t swim but it was tempting. Finally, I would be remiss not to mention their 3 dogs and cat - the stars of the place. They only let them out at my request so if you’re not an animal person, don’t worry about them. They did, however, truly make the place like home for me.

There really wasn’t anything I didn’t like. I do wish they had a bedside lamp in the room. As it is, you either have on the bright overhead light or nothing. Too, and this is a warning for potential guests rather than a complaint, there are only about 6 rooms so I suggest you book in advance. You won’t be sorry.

Great place

I was welcomed with some delicious homemade cookies. This is a great place, modern, super clean and most comfortable. The roof terrace is just great. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
