Es un alojamiento ideal si te gustan las aves. Hay un ventanal que se abre a toda la laguna de Orueta, con catalejos disponibles para los huéspedes las 24 horas. Un lujo ver cómo amanece desde ahí. Las habitaciones son sencillas y originales, la cama muy cómoda y todo muy limpio. Y el personal de 10. Yo es la tercera vez que me alojó aquí. El entorno una maravilla si te gustan la Naturaleza y las aves.

Extraordinary setting amidst the birds.

The location is absolutely stunning. Being able to watch the wildlife at all hours of the day is very special. The rooms are very clean and well-kept. Good breakfast options. The neighboring towns are breathtaking as are the beaches. And the Castillo de Arteaga is at a comfortable walking distance. First-class dining experience.

I would suggest adding a small nightstand and lamp to the rooms. This would make the rooms feel more cozy at night.

A unique place to stay in the heart of nature.

An amazing location to stay at for any birders. Access to the viewing tower as well as the viewing lounge directly from your room. Very good breakfast too and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

a wonderful idea of providing rooms within a bird center! Rowen at the reception is exceptionally warm, smart and knowledgeable.

no food for the evening, even no opportunity to order something. not convenient for nature lovers without using a car.

Great location, could've been a great experience.

The Bird Center is in a beautiful location, overlooking the bioreserve. The rooms are rather small, and the beds aren't very big, but they are comfy and provide everything you need. Opening the window lets you hear the many birds. To see them, you go to the observation area, privately for guests, one floor above the one for visitors. There are some decent quality scopes you can use. Access to the watching tower when the centre is closed is nice too. Watching the reserve and the bay preparing for the night, with a beautiful sunset and the next day watching as the mist gradually uncovered the wonderfull landscape before us was certainly one of the highlights of our stay in the area. Breakfast was very good as well. Friendly breakfast-person too.

No lights in the room upon arrival. Notified immediately and they would check. When the center closed they still didn't work and there was nobody left. Luckily we could contact them through WhatsApp and the friendly person managed to send someone over to fix it on this saturday night. Thanks again. We were also unlucky as there was a rock concert going on only a few hundred meters away. (and not a great one either). I imagine it could have been a great experience enjoying the evening in the quiet of this beautiful place, yet I guess we'll have to return one day to verify this. Staff at the desk was very friendly. The people at the observation window weren't very talkative. One was invested giving a private tour to the pretty lady, and the other didn't seem very interested giving any explication about the reserve or the birds. The place is great, but our experience could've been better.

The highlight of my 10 days on the Basque Coast was a 24 hour period at this gem of a place.

We loved staying right within this utterly magnificent nature sanctuary. There was so much to do, so much to see. The observation areas for residents are exceptional. It was especially gratifying to see flocks of birds appearing at dusk to roost. Bird lovers, put this place on your bucket list and spend at least a night. The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable. Everything at this facility is of the highest standard.

Fantastic birding location. Lovely simple hostel room, great setup with the observation decks containing really top end scopes. The hides are well done. Overall couldn’t recommend it enough

the bird reserve is a wonderful experience

the staff are wonderful! so helpful and kind. the breakfast was great. we had a problem and the staff helped us out with kindness. very knowledgeable about the birds. I recommend this place.

Perfect location for bird-viewing - even better as you have as a guest to use the viewing facilites exclusively before and after the center opens or is closed for the public! Excellent and very knowledgeable staff - perfect!

Only little downside is the quite small and narrow bed (being 1.79m tall).

Great location, beautiful view from the breakfast room over Urdaibai. Friendly staff. In the museum on the ground floor, professional ornithologists are present to answer questions. ♿️ there is an adapted room for wheelchair users. The building is accessible. Bird observation from the main building is perfectly possible.

The bedrooms nor the breakfast room were perfectly clean. Concerning hygiene there is room for improvement. ♿️ in the adapted bedroom, you cannot position the wheelchair alongside the bed, since the bed is too close to the wall. Some improvements can be made concerning accessibility of the outside observation huts.

My expectations were surpassed, I found peace, quiet and an adventure friendly location.

Very decent breakfast in an exceptional surrounding, where nature is at an arms reach.

Everything was excellent.
