very comfortable, local place to stay

House close to Looe centre. very clean, warm, owner is very friendly, kind and helpful. Coffee, milk, water inside your room. Clean, soft towels, hair dryer, shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel. Very soft and comfortable bedding. tv and wifi in the room. Easy parking.

David was a fantastic host. My partner Maddy and I were walking the south west costal path. David’s house was the perfect resting spot. The weather wasn’t very kind to us and we got rather wet. David turned his heating on during the summer so we could dry our clothes. We also shared a glass of wine together during our second night - had a lovely conversation. David is very well travelled so welcomes people from all other the globe. Can’t recommend his place highly enough.

Comfy bedroom in a suburban house, but note - no hotel facilities at all

The host, David, was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean. The beds were comfy. There was tea and biscuits, and plenty of toiletries. The neighbourhood was quiet, apart from mewing seagulls. There were not many hotels in Looe with a twin room which accept a 1-night stay on a Saturday so this place is a good option for that.

The location was not great for us - 15-20 mins walk from the town centre up a steep hill, in a not-very-attractive suburban street. The (electric) shower was a little weak. There was no breakfast available, and it was a long walk to get some (we were on foot, hiking the SWCP). Essentially it's a simple Airbnb-style room, and at £108 (without breakfast) it felt a bit overpriced for what was offered.

Great stay with wonderful host

Dave was an excellent host. I started with a bulging disc and sciatica while on this holiday, and Dave kindly let me check in early and even got me some frozen peas to put on my painful back! Nothing was too much trouble. Don’t be out off by the climb to get there - the accommodation is worth it!

Warm and friendly host, very relaxing and comfortable stay.

Amazing welcome from David who we loved chatting to on our arrival. The room and bathroom was spotlessly clean and the bedroom was so so comfortable! We have a fantastic nights sleep after a nice evening in Looe. We were sad to leave the comfort and warmth we experienced whilst with David. We’ll be back!

Very comfy bed, clean and tidy, true to the photos. David enjoyed chatting with us about Australia as he'd lived there in the 80's. He's seen more of it than we have! Handy having parking as it is hard to come by in a lot of the town.

I didn't realise just from looking at a map that it was so hilly and steep. It is close to town but up a hill. My own fault.

blissfully beautiful scenery in and all around looe..and this property certainly suited two adventerous 60 something lad

spotlessly clean with plenty of tea/coffee making equipment and supplies, far more than most five star hotels provide.. no silly little bathroom supplies either..Shampoo, Conditioner and Body wash, in large containers. plus ample towels and loo paper..provided in the well appointed En-Suite. there was even a nice softly lit seating area for guests outside.. David, The Host was very pleasantly attentive to our every need .. definitely would use again.

the property was high on the hillside so would be challenging to walk down to the beach and pretty difficult to walk back up if you had any kind of mobility issues. however we found parking right outside the property on both days..and of course there are taxis !

Exactly as described and an excellent host.

Spotlessly clean with everything you need for your stay and David is a welcoming host who is super helpful. also includes extras you wouldn’t expect - shampoo, conditioner and body wash and bottled water, as well as tea and coffee. The room was lovely and warm (we stayed on a rainy March night).

We couldn’t fault anything - it was all as the description. Parking is on street, so you might not get right outside. There is a flight of external steps down to the property entrance and they are well maintained with a handrail.

Simple accommodation, providing a lot!!!

Cleanliness Value for money Great host All the little things which require a lot of thoughts behind When it comes to reviewing a place there's a lot to take into account. For this price please don't expect the Ritz! It's not a new built either. So set your expectations accordingly. The reason this place exceeded all of my expectations is that it provides absolutely everything what you need and goes a bit further. The bed was set professionally, there's extra pillow with different heights, there're extra blankets and singles not double. Couples rarely like the same temperature or same pillow. Little but important things! Although the tea/coffee facilities in hospitality are standard it still surprised me and I definitely didn't expect even bottled water in the room. Not only shower gel and shampoo but conditioner is provided as well. Again little thing but if you are traveling with a lady with long hair it becomes quite important. The provided toilet paper and tissues are not the cheapest which (again considering the price) is quite impressive. The night was cold but luckily only outside. The radiator was big and the heating was on long enough in the evening/morning to feel more than comfortable. If you add all of these together and then think of the price you pay, you will quickly So be reasonable with your expectations and appreciate your host's effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible! A big thank you for our host David!!!

Can't fault it But if you can't do steps it's not for you as it's on the hill side with quite a few steps to climb. It's a bit further away from the town centre and again on the hill. There's nothing wrong about it but just to give a full picture.

Excellent value for money with a super host.

a great little place for a good night’s sleep in beautiful Looe. Incredible value for money, en-suite room with a very welcoming host David who lives upstairs. down stairs room is quiet and has everything you need. I would book again.

Everything is exactly as advertised and David has addressed any negative issues reported in earlier reviews - not that there have been many. it’s not flashy but it’s a warm comfortable and spotless room. nothing negative to say.

Clean, tidy, comfortable, reasonable sized room with en suite bathroom. Welcoming host with local knowledge. Took train from Looe, via Liskeard to Plymouth - really good day out.
