Very basic but nice bungalows - everything you expect from a wooden hut on a remote island. The mobile reception and electricity comes and goes, which should be a sign to switch of all your devices and enjoy the beautiful island :)
Unfortunately there is no direct beach access, but you can use the beach on the left or right side.

These were the absolute nicest people I have met on the planet. No exaggeration.
The bedroom was pretty sparse, which was fine, although I would have liked another shelf. I packed pretty light, but still had to keep some stuff on the ground. I wish both bathroom stalls had a light at night.

It is a funky cool property on the windy side (so cooler to sleep) with amazing views and great staff.
Sometimes just a. Little TOO windy

Loved the proximity of the hut to the ocean, that's hard to beat!
The "restaurant" wasn't very welcoming, it's a family run place of course and the shared space felt more like the family's living room as opposed to a guest space. I was there for three nights. The first night I ordered dinner but I was the only one. The second night they closed it off to guests for a family/friends thing. The third night it was closed to guests while they attended a bday party next door. They lock up the kitchen at night so you can't get to the water, fridge or otherwise.
The location is both a pro and a con. I loved the cooler breezier weather on the east side! But it is a good 15 minute walk to town, which means once you leave in the morning, you don't really tend to spend 30 minutes going back and forth to get something, so you pack up for the day and don't come back until after dinner. There aren't other restaurants on the East side, so you'd otherwise be up on the North Beach which is a 30 minute walk. You can always try to find a water taxi, it's just not always reliable.

The hotel is on the best side of the island. Such a nice breeze so you can sleep. The staff are so welcoming. The price can’t be beat.
It is definitely very basic and rustic. If you have ever camped in a cabin that is essentially what it is, but that is the island experience we are all looking for.

Amazing location right on the beach, big rooms, big beds, hammocks - I wish I had stayed longer
There are no lights at night on the short walk to the hostel, but I always felt safe

The location of this place is so beautiful!! The set up is very simple but has everything you need! I absolutely adored the island lifestyle here.

Really nice staff. Best maracuya juice on the island (I tried 5 other places), but it's not always available 😔 The bed in the basic room is really comfortable and big! Basic kitchen. Nice sunrise views and I even got a good full moonrise view with the light reflecting on the water so pretty! They let you use the wash basins and lines to wash your clothes, which is essential in Nicaraguan heat where your sweat stinks up your clothes in less than an hour 🤦🏼♀️
Nice area in nature. Bring a headlamp (I found a AAA battery open one in Managua RadioShack for about $15) for walking to town at night and watch out for the crabs! The dogs didn't bother me thankfully, which is saying a lot because I got attacked by 7 pet dogs in Nicaragua (probably being overly friendly, but grabbing my shoe or liking my leg without my consent is not okay), so it's nice when the dogs are calm. These ones barked and got close, but no contact. Close your door to keep the cats out, though. A cat also jumped on the chair next to me as I was eating my lunch one day.
About a 15 minutes walk to the center, 20 to the ferry if you carry your own bags because you're just dripping sweat. I recommend paying the C100 for a wheelbarrow helper.
I'd been having a not so great time in Nicaragua thanks to sleezy men, disrespectful dogs, and many minor annoyances that kept adding up. My time at Little Corn (and later San Carlos/El Castillo) was so refreshing and back to being treated with kindness and being welcomed like I grew accustomed to in other Latin American countries (compared to Big Corn where was ignored at most every shop and locals seemed to hate visitors and their resting btch faces were well set in like most Nicaraguan from west of Lake Nicaragua). I'm glad I made it to the east side of the country, so the bad experiences could be balanced out by good ones!
The latches on the doors and the locks need replacing. They are rusted to the point that you need to fight with them to move them. I ended up using my own luggage lock after day 2 of fighting the lock they provided. I was the only person in a basic room most of my stay, so just left the bathroom door open while using it to avoid fighting the lock. The shower water on the floor with the basic rooms is hot, but the ones on the grassy area outside had cold water.
Unfortunately, the island shuts power off starting at 6am, nothing the hotel can control. But the second the fan is shut off, the heat woke me up and I had to toss my bedsheet off and take my shirt off and it didn't help. So be prepared that it's HOT. The one day there was a storm, we had a nice breeze. Apparently the breeze is usually on this side of the island, but it's not guaranteed. When the power turns back on at 1pm, the fan blows around hot air for the first few hours.
Another thing that's not the hostel's fault, but good to come prepared is they have a lot of those teeny ants. Those ants are so thirsty, I even found them crawling all over tissues that had only 2 tiny drops of saline spray on them. If your swimsuit or shoes are even slightly damp, don't worry, the ants will drink from them and they will be dry (not as fast or sanitary as drying in sunlight though 😂).
The hammock for the basic room is that plastic woven material, so when you're sweaty, you stick to it.
The free water is not always available because they have it in the check-in/restaurant area. If nobody is there, they lock the doors so you can't access the water. If you're going into town, all the restaurants refill water for free. One time I needed a lighter, but nobody was around and I yelled for about 2 minutes. So I unlatched the window and climbed over the counter to get inside and found one in their kitchen.

We liked everything in Little Corn and it's just sad when you have to leave.
At the cool spot the facilities have everything you need and always with that amazing sea view. People were really great to us and the food too. We will certainly be back one day. Thank you for everything!
We didn't like to leave the little paradise 🏝️

Slow swinging in the hammock outside my room was great relaxation, pleasant sounds of the beach, endless flow of breeze and the turquoise colored panoramic view of the ocean was spectacular. Walking through the trails at night during the moonlight was mesmerizing and refreshing. Andrew the host was pleasant and accommodating and put together a wonderful bonfire, barbecue and Caribbean music. Many things here reminded me of my own home in Trinidad & Tobago.
Will return again in the future.
Nothing, great vibe here.
4.5
Very friendly staff, good food with large portions for reasonable prices, large rooms with double bed. Towel and mosquito net provided. Nice beach bar area with gorgeous views out to the ocean.
The showers are small with no space to hang a towel/clothes so everything needs to be left outside. The rooms are so hot - small fans are provided but do little to help with the heat. The hostel is on the opposite side of the island to all bars and restaurants so after sundown the walk back is very dark with no lights along the way (even though everyone told me the island was very safe, as a solo female traveller the walk still made me nervous)

The staff was super friendly. The food was very good, you can eat here all day. Jamaican jerk night with the bonfire was cool. We had a little cabin directly at the beach with a hammock. You can book a snorkel tour here as well, or if you need a water taxi they can help you.
Shower did not have any pressure.

The location, the staff + the food! It truly is the cool spot on Little Corn Island! Being on the side of the island with the breeze is lovely, especially sleeping at night. You’re steps from the ocean and beaches, The staff are kind + helpful, and the food is reasonably priced + delicious!
The rooms, bathrooms + showers are basic but adds to the island vibes.

Extremely kind staff, feels like home, great food and perfect location.
My cabin had many roaches and the shower wasn't comfortable

The location is great, it's on the Coco Beach side of the Island and the ocean breezes means a cooler experience. The staff are really friendly and go out of their way to help you out. The food is very good.
They could have made and sold tempeh centered meals to cater to the many vegetarian and vegan tourist.

Andrew and the rest of the staff were incredible hosts. The space was picture-perfect right on the water. The food and atmosphere were phenomenal. I look forward to going back in the future!

Charming hosts, good restaurant, nice breeze and atmosphere

Good place and it has cabins right in front of the beach! If you want to spend the day just admiring the see this is the place.
It's a little far from most places in the island, but it's worth the walk

the hurricane damage to beach

Great location.
When strong winds or rains it becomes really noisy for sleep but I guess that's part of the deal in simple places like this.
4.5
good place to meet other travellers and Andrew the host made our stay very special , he was super helpful, good cook and was always willing to help us with information and an advise . we recommend to take advantage of the special meals that Andrew provides because they are super delicious!

The staff at Cool Spot are the best. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. We were met at the dock and walked to the location which was great.
The food at the restaurant is incredible so definitely eat there.
The rooms are basic but comfortable and have everything you need.
It’s on the other side of the island from most of the restaurants, the doc etc and a little windy but that can be a plus if you’re just looking for quiet.

This is an amazing place to stay. we stayed for a week and absolutely loved our time here. the location is amazing in a little hut next to the sea with a private bathroom.
the food served by the hostel is amazing. the location is beautiful right next to the sea. Andrew was an amazing host and went above and beyond to make our stay really special.
thank you for a wonderful stay

The location is just absolutely gorgeous! Right off the beach and in the quieter side of the island. The staff are super friendly and I love the reception area, perfect to relax by the water and enjoy a meal

I really liked my room and the
people working there were super nice!!!
the walks back in the evening from town were a little scary cause it was pitch dark on that side of the island and it was a long walk from the 2 bars where everybody would meet in the evening..
kitchen was also quite poorly equipped
and sadly since the hurricane in October the beaches on that side of the island are almost washed away and the parts still there are quite dirty

The people were lovely and we felt safe. You have the ocean right at your doorstep and the next Restaurants are not too far away. we got picked up from the pier when we arrived. There is always a nice breeze.
The cabanas are very rustic and basic. We did not got show the kitchen (if there even is one) and the wifi is quite slow.
5.0
The coolest place to stay on the island, no doubts. As many other guests, I came here for a few nights and stayed much longer. The sea food, fish dishes and rondon were absolutely delicious!
4.5
A super nice vibe in this cosy hostel right next to beaches. Food was delicious, wifi good, very friendly staff.
we also celebrated one of my friends birthday here with a Jerk Chicken BBQ (family dinner, Caribbean night) which was super! mega thanks!
kitchen can have a little more attention from the staff. was a bit minimal in my opinion.
3.5
Location was good. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was tasty. Room was basic (but I expect this was the same for most properties on the island. Welcome drink was lovely!
The room was basic, the shower was very old and there was loads of little lizards in the room that came out at night (they lived in a crack in the wall. Notwithstanding this, I would still recommend to stay here.
