Very poor

It’s near the beach area. Nice and relax atmosphere.

The places is haunted and I’m guessing because of the location of the place and because it’s an island setting. Don’t recommend to travel alone, go with a partner or with family members.

Amazing location, clean and affordable place to stay on the island.

Flora Bay is a nice resort-like place right on the beach. Location is stunning, and our room was clean. The staff was very nice and the food at the hotel restaurant was excellent (breakfast especially).

No AC in our room, only a fan which was quite loud. Bathroom could use some updating but was still decent and clean.

Nice Overall experience

Great food. Spacious lounge area. Clean. Amazing diving center attached. Perfect location. Good sized rooms with comfy beds. Too many positives to list them all.

A bit run down in some ways. The toilet in my bathroom did not function properly. The towels were thin and scratchy and need to be replaced with new ones. The Hammocks in front are frayed.

Good for a basic stay

The view from the room was great. Facing the beach. Room was clean. Staff were friendly.

Room could have used a kettle so that you could have access to hot water. Washroom was clean but old.

Amazing location and tasty food, but very rundown facilities

The hotel is basically on the beach, so it's perfect for those who like sunbathing and swimming. Also, it's on a very quiet beach, so there was no noisy music at night. The food at their restaurant was amazing! (Especially their fruit shakes and dishes with sea food). Breakfast also had quite a few options to choose from. Last but not least, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They even arranged our transfer to the airport.

Rooms are very old and a bit smelly. There was mold in toilet-shower area. Floor felt quite nasty when showering (better to do it in sandals). The towels we got were grey (even though some time ago they were white, I assume). At night we could hear some animal running in the walls - it was quite unsettling. Also, the walls were quite thin, so you could easily hear your neighbors.

Superb

I liked everything about this place, the chalet is in front of beach, no need to hike or walk more than 1km. Room was very neat, toilet and towel was dry and the air-con was already open before we even arrived. We got breakfast in the package and the breakfast provided was so good with plenty of variety. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy more since our boat arrived at 7.45am. Definitely will repeat the same chalet with kinda private beach, it was so quiet and serene and even we went on public holiday, not so crowded compared to Long beach, my friend said it was very crowded that they need to pay for to sit in front row of fireshow at night.

If you stayed for one night only, please request iron before 4pm or else you wont be entertained lol.

Overall, the family room is comfortable. Restaurant opens daily and food is affordable.

Staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is superb.

No hanging rod in the bathroom.

The Hotel is directly on a long beach in the South of Perhentian Besar, good to walk and relax. Otherwise not much to do here. The restaurant has good food and is not expensive, but: no fish BBQ in the evening and no music to chill. The staff is very nice and helpful.

The non-AC rooms are in the back, not on the waterfront and get very loud at the weekend. The AC-bungalows are in the front and more quiet and private. Please be aware that you will NOT have hot shower in the non-AC rooms, only cold water! Breakfast is included but it is very Asian, fried rice, fried noodles, fried fish, toast bread and sometimes fruit. Flora Bay is not very good for snorkeling, the best snorkeling locations on Perhentian Besar are in the North and in the West (between the 2 islands). There are 2 adventurous jungle treks to go to KK Bay (West) and Perhentian Island Resort (North), but the path is not very clear as many trees has fallen down and these treks have barely been used during the past 2 years due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Nice staff and quiet beach

This hotel is located in a big and quiet bay in the South of Perhentian Besar. The beach is very long and good for walking, but unfortunately you can't see the sunset nor the sunrise from this beach. You can snorkel from the beach, there are beautiful corals just a few meters off the beach (before Shark Point), but there are many boats around during the day, so it is not advisable to exit the markings. Flora Bay has a own small jetty, so when you arrive by boat from Kuala Besut or Perhentian Kecil, you don't have to walk far with your heavy luggage, just a few steps to the reception.

Flora Bay works mainly with Malaysian tourists, as most of the Hotels in this bay, that means: it gets very packed and noisy at the weekend, with AC room with fan, which is NOT a private bungalow on the beach,, and at the weekend (Friday and Saturday), I couldn't sleep because of a screaming baby in the next room, so I decided to move to another hotel for one night. On Sunday, when I came back, almost everybody was gone and I had a quiet room again. The non-AC rooms have only COLD WATER. The food at the restaurant is ok, but they don't have fish-BBQ in the evening. No music at the restaurant, only muslim music on Friday.

I enjoy my stay,maybe this time i havent do much activities,just wanted to get rest from work.

Near to the beach

Cleanliness,I think the staff haven’t change bed sheets and pillow case.Coz i can smell sweat maybe from previous customer.At night, a lot mosquitoes.Previous booking properly said they’re fully book,but when Im checking a lot empty room specially room I requested near to the beach.I think this is not right strategy if property wanted to get a money from customers buy selling the expensive room.They keep the room for the agent selling the packages.Punctuality of bot transfer also is late.Breakfast maybe can improve due i saw ants in orange juice.

Relaxing vibe, chilled out resort!

The staff are amazing, especially the young waiters and the head lady on reception. The food in the restaurant is great. The atmosphere is fun. We loved the resort and location so much, we extended our stay an extra 5 nights.

The rooms are more expensive and basic on the Perhentian Islands, so you are getting alot less for your money. We upgraded our room and we were very happy.
