Very comfortable stay

Close to town and train station - very clean and welcoming. Karen and Michael are great hosts, offering a good breakfast with lots of choices and assistance with transport to the Scrabster ferry terminal (if it suits their day). We had a lovely room facing out to Orkney. Very clean.

Charme mit Meeresluft 😃

Sehr sehr sauber. Blick fantastisch über das Meer und die Insel. Restaurant, Cafe, promenade, Einkauf alles nahenden sehr 👍. Zimmer sehr groß und Bett war super. Badezimmer sehr sauber und praktisch. Wanderung möglich. Schloss Mey sehr schnell zu erreichen. Frühstück war sehr lecker und sehr viel. Nett Rat von Gastgeber. Das Haus ist wunderschöne und mit charme eingerichtet. Haben unserer Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Viele Grüße und danke.

Fantastic place to stay highly recommended

Beautiful Bed and breakfast with fantastic hosts that was very welcoming. Very happy with the room we stayed in and the breakfast was probably the one of the best we've had in a long time

Ideal for Scrabster ferry

The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious, warm and clean. The bed was comfortable; and though our room faced the main road we slept well as the traffic seemed very light overnight. Breakfast was enjoyable and included a choice of hot dishes selected the night before. There was no on site parking but there was ample free parking in an adjacent street. We stayed one night on the way to the Orkney ferry and would stay here again.

Wonderful Westlea !!

Very friendly couple, beautiful and comfortable house, lively room with a Seaview, and a very tasty breakfast. Highly recommend this B & B.

Warm Charming & Friendly

Stayed for one night, great location just across from the beach with walking distance to shops & restaurants. The hosts (Karen & Michael) have tastefully restored the property bringing warm & charm to the place, as well as being fantastic at making us feel at home and served up hearty breakfast that kept use going all day long. Highly recommended! Just a note the twin room has private (big) bathroom that is outside the room off the hall/stairway - some may prefer taking some slippers.

We loved everything about Westlea B & B! Michael & Karen are the greatest hosts!

Westlea B & B is gorgeous! We had a very large, beautifully decorated room with a great water view. The bed was very comfortable & the seating area overlooking the water was lovely. Michael & Karen are the best hosts! Michael had us laughing from the first hello. Breakfast was delicious! Thank you!

Geschmackvolles und gemütlich eingerichtetes B&B

Das B&B ist wunderschön eingerichtet und von unserem Zimmer konnte man sogar die Oakney Inseln sehen (Fernglas lag auf dem Zimmer bereit). Zu einem sehr guten Restaurant waren es nur 10min zu Fuß. Sehr nette Gastgeber!

The convenience, location and attention of the hosts of the Westlea are difficult to surpass!

Breakfast was fine and plentiful! The hosts were attentive and helped with our luggage. Parking was convenient and access to the property was easy. The location was super convenient to the ferry terminal, the reason for our stay. It was an easy walk into the town for dinner. We have booked a return for 2024!

Beautiful old home within walking distance of shops and restaurants. View from our window of the ocean was spectacular. Bed was quite comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. Good shower. Lots to places to charge our phones, iPads, etc.

Superb

Westlea is an excellent bed and breakfast and very good value for money. The house is really well kept and our room was spacious and well furnished,with some nice,touches like cotton bed linen and a smart bathroom.

Perfect for a stopover in Thurso

Like visiting Granny and Grandpa

Very lovely people, great rooms and very nice bathrooms. Late arrival was possible and the communication via booking.com was easy and fast. The breakfast was great and you can choose whatever you like to eat. We were a little sad that we were leaving after one night already.

Perfect hosts with a wonderful home and the warmest of welcomes.

A wonderful, Victorian era home owned and run by a genuinely lovely couple. The place was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable.

Not a dislike because it was spacious, modern and spotless but visitors should be aware that one room is not en-suite. The well laid out bathroom, private fir the use of the occupants of just one bedroom, was situated part way down the classically large stairway.
