Of course, if you want to whip up your own culinary masterpiece, you'll have your enormous kitchen opening onto the outdoor deck, for leisurely riverside dinners too. Your host – a New York-based designer – has crafted the interiors to his idiosyncratic taste, so you'll find that the thoughtful touches such as Moroccan tiles, high-end bedding and paintings by local artists offer an unforgettable experience worth writing home about. So set off on endeavours into the private forest land – there's no better place to go on an adventure amidst nature in the Big Indian wilderness than here. Plus when you're ready to curl up at the day's end, there are plenty of snuggly spots to get cosy, whether that's inside the house, where you can make the most of the endless streaming options available from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and HBO. Or, if you'd rather spend your evenings in the great outdoors, gather around the fire pit with a cup of hot cocoa – ready to roast some smores.
