Very good

The location is in a good area, the room was clean.

An unfriendly russian-speaking woman at the reception, poor soundproofing of the rooms, and the door to the room had glass inserts through which the light from the common corridor shone.

The staff was wonderful. They all were very friendly and helpful.Alena was exceptional ! The location is the best you can get. The room was a good size and very clean. There was a very beautiful view from the window. Everything you need is in a walking distance: a lot of restaurants, cafes, and stores. You are in historical part of the city< Montmartre of Kyiv: Andreevskiy Spusk, St. Andrew Church...

Cozy hotel in a great historic district!

Quite nice hotel located close to city centre in a historic district. Nice surroundning of the building, landscape alley and St Andrew's Church nearby. The hotel staff was nice, breakfast quite OK, but nothing outstanding, room was clean and tidy with very comfortable bed. All in all great place to stay for couple of days.

Best area in the Kyiv

The aria where hotel is located is awesome! Nice neighborhood, beautiful houses, lots of trees! Hotel is small and clean. Place for parking!

Only think I would recommend if asked - change mattresses.

Very quiet place close to the historical center of the city. Secure parking. Not crowded. Clean rooms.

I was expected to have a kettle to prepare tea in the room or something like a vending machine at the reception. Even the fridge was empty, with no bar. If you come late a night only one option to get a meal or drink is courier services. There are no grocery stores or cafes nearby.

Vozdvyzhenka experience

Staying in Gonchar Hotel is wonderful. Location allows a quick access to Peizazhna alley and Vozdvyzhenka area. Even thought is central part of busy Kyiv, this area is nice and quiet

Don't recommend

Location is good. Many touristic places are nearby but you have to go through many steep hills. WiFi signal is very good.

Ladies at the reception don't understand english. They are a little bit cold. Not very hospital. Rooms are very ordinary so are the services. One of the landladies doesn't know the difference between shampoo and shower gel. I wanted shampoo but she brought me shower gel when i tried to explain she sighed and that shampoo never found me🤔one o f the little examples is that you cannot find earpicks after a shower. They charge much with respect to their services. Breakfast is also ordinary. If you are going to pay with credit card you should know that they will charge you extra %7.8 commission over the booking.com price and you have to pay as soon as you come to the hotel. So you cannot leave the hotel if you are not happy with your stay. The only good thing about this hotel is that its location. I'd never prefer this hotel again if i come to Kyiv in the future. To sum up, stay away from this hotel.

great value for money in a quiet cozy hotel in the middle of artistic life of Kyiv

the hotel staff was very helpful and flexible: - we arrived late, however still managed to check in - staff was very welcoming the location is perfect! in 2 mins from the stairs taking you to Peyzazhnaya alley, 4 mins to Andriyivskyi usviz and Andriyivska church numerous tasty places to have breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner. thus reco - do not take breakfast in the hotel - go to a new place nearby every morning. The food served in the cafes around is delicious, diverse and not overpriced! even though the location is in the pretty populated area for hanging out - the hotel is located a bit "deeper" in the area, close to the diplomatic residences. This provides a perfect combination of living in a very close proximity to attractions and food diversity combined with peace and quietness in the rooms of the hotel. Plan to stay here again next time. great value for money!

the subway is a bit further than I thought (~20 mins walk) and when we stayed in the hotel - it was a lot of road constructions going on on the way (was not very pleasant walk) the rest is perfectly fine!
