Perfect one night stay.

Lovely and cosy one bedroom house in a brilliant location, just off the motorway. Most of the amenities that you would expect were there. Perfect for one night stay, though not bad for a few nights as well but definitely not for six people. There were a lot of fun activities for kids and the location surrounding the stream was perfect.

There is no mention in the description that this was a campsite. There was no welcome back with tea or coffee and the host is not very responsive to messages. I sent them a total of three messages but never got a reply. And it can be a bit tricky to find.

Amazing little get away

Everything me and my family loved it and we will be returning again the summer. The kids absolutely loved the stream and was in it from the moment we arrived. The children had plenty of room and outside toys to play with. The cabin was perfect for my family and dogs. Thanks we had the most amazing time see you again soon 😊 jade and Wayne

Great value for money

The value you get for the money is amazing. Perfect for a stop over just off the motorway or also great for a break of a few days.

The beds were of OK quality, I would invest just a little more on better mattresses.

as I approached the property I wasn’t greeted with respect. it was like I was a hassle at the start? but we enjoyed our space other than that.

Exceptional

Absolutely stunning settings gorgeous lodge very clean and well equipped we will definitely be coming back very dog friendly and the zip liner and Tarzan swing over the river was good fun for us all highly recommend staff was always around very friendly and helpful

It was ok, but it could have been excellent.

The location was superb and perfect to walk our dog. We loved the setting and the relaxed, ‘rustic’ feel to the property. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the heating and shower facilities (including towels etc) excellent.

Whilst the facilities were perfectly adequate and the bed very comfortable, we were disappointed to see that the property had not been given a really thorough clean, and I’m not talking about inaccessible places, but surfaces and shelves (the dresser shelves and the cupboard in the bathroom for example). The floor was not properly swept nor the mats hoovered or shaken. I’m disappointed to be writing this, as I really don’t like being negative, and I’m disappointed that the hosts let themselves down when this is such a great location. The word ‘impeccable’ is used to describe the property. It wasn’t but it could be! On the morning we were leaving, whilst giving our dog a short walk, we were approached by a young man who told my husband that the property was private and that we were trespassing (it clearly states in the promotional material that the hosts welcome guests enjoying the beautiful grounds!) When my husband pointed out that we were actually guests staying there (our car could clearly be seen parked outside The Log Cabin!), there was no apology offered for this rather rude and upsetting episode. This experience took some of the shine off the stay. We had no idea who this person was but surely the hosts should make sure that everyone working at the property know that there are guests staying?

Lovely break 😁👍

Clean,, comfortable, quiet and great surroundings. Felt very relaxed. Everything available as informed. Lovely grounds to walk around with the dogs. Helped that no-one else was camping etc at the time 👍❤️

Nothing bad at all. First time getting there we easily missed the gates as it was IMMEDIATELY off the A1, but then no problem. Didn't expect a motor home right out back, but didn't seem to have anyone in it so didn't bother us. All in all as first mentioned... nothing bad at this lovely cabin at all 😁👍❤️

Beautiful relaxing stay

The cabin was unreal. Will defo be back and would def recommend. The grounds were fabulous. Kids loved playing on the zip wire over the shallow river.

Only downside would be they say it holds 6 and I would say max 4 as otherwise 2 people on the sofa bed

Disappointing

The location is good - it’s right off the A1 so easy to access.

The cleanliness and fittings were inadequate. The toilet broke after one use, the hosts asked us to move our car at 11pm and thereafter took three visits to fix the toilet.

Family stay.

Loved the setting (once found). Beautiful clean environment. Would book again if needed.

No proper bed for 2 guests. Family of 4, Dad and toddler slept on a mattress on the floor (upstairs). The double bed was comfy but very noisy. The turning into the drive is not clear, we went round in circles on A1 as turning is just off the slip road (not clear.)
