Very good
Allison and her papi have welcomed us with open arms. The weather was not great but they have helped us with transportation, groceries etc.. The location was wonderfull near by the sea. We did a great tour on the mangrove. Papi and Allison were great gides, have spotted a lot of animals and most of all, they are very loving people to stay with .

Very kind and generous owners, but beware that the website isn't fully transparent.
The owners were very kind and generous - one evening he prepared smoked fish for us. He shared many of the fruit from the trees on property. He was eager to share Costa Rican culture, food, and wildlife, and make our stay an experience - apparently he has done cooking classes for other guests. Walking distance to the beach was wonderful. Our kids loved the pool. The house (2nd story, where we stayed) was nice. The kitchen and eating space worked great for us. The porch for early morning coffee was great.
Beware of the misleading information on the website. Though listed as "Three bedroom house" and "Entire Vacation House", and we knew that we were charged based on the number in our group, it was only after booking that I learned (because I directly asked the host to verify) that they planned to only give us 2 of the three bedrooms, based on the number of people in our group. This wasn't going to work for us (because of the number of beds), and only after going back and forth several times with them did they agree to let us use all three bedrooms. Also note that it's not an "entire vacation house", but the second story, and the owners live on the first floor. This wasn't a problem, and at times it was helpful to be able to easily ask questions and interact, but it wasn't the privacy that we were led to expect based on the description. Also note that this really is a 4WD-access-only place, even if you take the ferry. We had 4WD, and had fun with it, but it did make it harder to get out to do other sightseeing in the area. If you don't plan to go anywhere, it won't be a problem. Though I really enjoy wildlife, having a 4- or 5-foot crocodile living in the little pond on the other side of the driveway from the house, with her 20+ babies, even with a partial fence around it, is unnerving, especially with kids. The beds were very firm, and though we fell asleep quickly due to being tired, we woke up often in the night, stiff and uncomfortable, because of it. Note that there's no hot water, which is normal for this part of the country (and it's warm enough that it's not a problem). Last, we (especially our kids) did leave with plenty of mosquito and other insect bites, which is to be expected in the tropics, but our kids sure didn't enjoy it. :)
